  7. Yeah I'm in a similar situation.... my car is broken and I dont have enough money/time to fix it before the 13th. We should compete in the 'mighty gemini' class Chris. - Nathan
  8. ok my entry has been faxed through. I helped out at the deca before last does that count?
  9. I played a part in the setting up of these the new western ring road speed cameras. I told my boss when he gave me the job if I had a religion this would be against it. They are the old fasion if you speed you get your photo taken type. There is even a second camera linked to the system that takes a pic of the variable speed sign at the same time it snaps the speeding vehicle.
  10. I'm famous! Great work guys looks really good. - Nathan
  11. I loved my GTI-R they are temperamental but no more than a GTR. They are OLD so like any old performance car anything that has not been replaced or rebuilt could die if pushed but having said that the engine is awesome, way over engineered (like a GTR). The engine is almost completely different to any other sr20det, solid lifters, quad throttles, different cams. I’m pretty sure even the rods and crank are beefier. The gearbox is strong but requires a bit of mechanical sympathy, there is a theory that most breakages are because the hardening wears of the teeth of the gears? Uprated gearsets are a $5k exercise. Handling out of the box is crap but can easily be corrected, around town they are unreal. They are stable at high speeds but noisy as and the doors try to peel them selves off at really high speeds. The looks are a bit love it or hate it but a good set of 16’s or 17’s are a must and chrome is a no no (but each to their own). Brakes are no good for track work but good rotors and pads are fine for the street. Filter, exhaust, heat range 7 platinum plugs and 1.1bar of boost saw 194kw atw at AVO which was enough for plenty of fun. You must get a good one or you are looking at a world of pain. They aren’t cheap but very worth while, I still wish I had never sold mine.
  12. Up until 10 or so years ago the state government was spending enough on infrastructure to sustain Melbournes Water Supply during 4-5 year drought. Rather then addressing our water supply issues and maintaining this buffer years ago (eg build a dam, desal plants, Pressure Industry to cut back etc etc) the government has allowed it to get this bad. Taking into account the growing population bugger all money is allocated to upgrading sewage, electricity and roads (eastlink doesn’t count, pak bypass doesn’t count) Something is going to give and it will be interesting to see them try and blame it on the drought.
  13. I just sourced a set of BBS LMs through Aaron, top bloke great service highly recommended.
  14. Yeah I know I wouldnt mind having a bash but i dont think there is much chance of me organising cams, a helmet and a spot before Sat. I am a slacker... a really busy one.
  15. I will be coming up on the Saturday and would be more then happy to help out with the timing etc but I can't guarentee that ill be up there on time which makes me pretty useless really. If I make it in time I will help out for sure. - Nathan
  16. Kickarse Dave like your work, thanks Al too. Its all looking good. - Nathan
  17. Cool I might come down and see whats its all about. On the whole off topic helmet discussion is there any real problem in using a road bike helmet? Is there any difference?
  18. What is the deal with spectators at these things... are you allowed to just turn up and have a look?
  19. I am a southern gentleman turned gunman and gambler... actually I sit at a desk and click a mouse all day, if anyone tells you engineering is fun keep an eye on them.... Having said that the work isn't all that bad and it pays for the R. I really wanted to be a rockstar

    Voting Time

I did a significant amount of work on the the eastern water recycling proposal and I know a lot of people in the power industry and various water authorities and I can say without a doubt that its the biggest load of crap! To say nothing of the cost issues when it comes down to it the water saved will be sent to industry, a small amount to Geelong and pretty much all of the rest will sent down the rivers to boost flow. How will that help us? What do we get for the billions of dollars and in increased cost of electricity? Nothing!

    Deca Review

Awesome weekend! My first DECA experience and I can't wait for the next so I can get out there and have a go. Thanks to everyone who made the whole thing happen and a huge thanks to Paul and Sarah you guys rock! Thats all good chaps my fault for driving too slowly and not bringing a phone charger. I ended up not being so clever and owned myself trying to be tuff James style.
  24. Awesome. I'm in.
  25. I can help out for sure provided someone can find me a couch or floor to sleep on Friday and Saturday nights? - Nathan
