  1. Also, I used a ground isolation/filter for the picture and it cleared the image up from any sign of fuzzy. I know the list is expanding, but I could find the exact thing I bought if you want. I bought it from jaycar. Pretty sure it was for the video ground (rather than the power of the box) buy can't remember as it all hides away.
  2. I think all screen mirroring uses wifi, and mine has no problems at all. As in never drops out or anything. Do you have a 5.1 digital or 2 channel switch on the box? Maybe it's not outputting from the rca audio plugs? My Audio streams fine with the screen of the phone turnes off as well (so less battery and drain on the phone with just audio streaming). You will still want a charger though I believe. The screen mirroring I use a lot for navigation. I bought a great little media Bluetooth controller as well. The grounding is simple yes.. But I think a small amount of dash removal is needed. From what I read it's not too invasive.
  3. One option also is to use an android box installed in the car. Perhaps using a bluetooth touchpad to control and include a Bluetooth media remote for ease of changing tracks. Getting data using your phone hotspot perhaps.
  4. One other thing I should point out, is that audio control needs to be done through the phone or a Bluetooth remote. I have mine setup that when it detects it is being charged (I use a wireless charging bed I lie my phone in) and Bluetooth connection to the car to automatically put the wireless display on the car screen. This is a bit of messing around to setup and also requires an android phone with tasker (so while very convenient, not for everyone). Normal people will manually begin mirroring. Having google maps on the screen is a great option. Android auto would be the next step up over screen mirroring (mainly for battery life of the phone means you will want to charge while mirroring with the screen on / audio only might be fine however as the mobile screen can be off) but our units don't have android auto as this is a very new technology.
  5. Looks like maybe.. just maybe the cable I linked before might help him. But best to check. Also worth noting, is the handbrake mod might be needed so the video doesn't cut out when moving. I believe this is just grounding a certain cable, but that might be needed to keep picture showing like mine does. I'd imagine the audio stay anyway. See this thread, as it may help
  6. I think the rca's aren't there for most models, and it's a modification. The aux input plug is on the back of the headunit however for all models with the gps I believe (or maybe the tv I can't remember). I had assumed that "dodgy" connection should have the video/audio aux input on it though. I read it is probably there for car phones.... But assume it also carries the aux input. Hmm. Hard to find the info. I'm sure its out there. Maybe searching G37 returns more than for the v36, which are very similar I believe with specs
  7. Well finally getting my wheel alignment done (did the sway bars myself) with the new tyres on the weekend. If anyone has any feedback on their wheel alignment on the v36 then feel free to chime in. I've got the SP coupe. All suspension standard except for the whiteline sway bars.
  8. Took the plunge. Pilot sport 4s with 225/40/19 and 245/35/19. Price, availability and very similar diameter change sold me. 10 percent speed error here we come (only up a little from oem 7 percent) and 162km/h real speed limiter ha ha. Getting installed on Saturday. Now deciding on wheel alignment settings. Might resurrect my other topic on this again.
  9. He stated he doesn't have rca inputs yet. So not that easy.
  10. A little off topic, and more a vent about this dodgy place without putting names down. But some tyre places really don't listen or understand when you specify a tyre like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and I really emphasized the S, and then specifically specified not the 4 or 4ST as they are a different tyre... They quoted my for my rear tyre size, that I know doesn't come in the 4S, and is only available in the 4 or 4ST (these last two are the same tyre according to Michelin Aus). They then went to quote me on a size for the front that I know doesn't come in the 4 or 4ST, so maybe it was for the 4S or maybe it was a Nito Invo ha ha. Anyway. Looks like I'll be off to a tyre place that understands that the Pilot Sport 4S is a different tyre, or at least someone who pays attention to details.
  11. $1380 now... How can I not ha ha
  12. I think I read too much as every tyre listed in this thread either didn't come in the right sizes or I eventually found feedback to say otherwise. These are the only tyre I have only heard good feedback on. Yeh I know they are fairly new, but they have been out for 6 months in the states. I've gone round and round in circles really. From cheap to expensive. Tempted with some cheap option to find they were excessively noisy. Now sitting at the upper limit although the 225/40/19 and 245/35/19 (lower profile only) seem to be a "reasonable" $1476 at the moment. I can live with the extra 3% speedo error (easier to calculate at 10% including oem error) knowing the ratio front to rear diameter/circumference is almost the same. I'm almost there. Will likely order them unless someone throws a spanner in the works in the next day or two (more to do with sizing) . Sorta need the rears changed with this cooler weather as they spin easily in first gear in a straight line with the clutch already out.
  13. I should also add that the other favourite combo of 245/40/19 front and 265/35/19 rear have neither size available here in Aus.
  14. OK. I am now determined to get the new Pilot Sport 4S. Stress on the S. So it looks like the stock fronts 225/45/19 are ehre, but the rear 245/40/19 has no defined date (if any). Only available in the US at the moment. So I am looking at the following with pro's and cons to each; - Stock sizes - Too long a wait, if the 245/40/19 even get here seeing that is the only 19 inch size in the PS 4 so they may never bring it in who knows. - 225/40/19 and 245/35/19 - Cheapest combo by about $200 for the set of 4. - Available now - 3.4% and 3.75% smaller rolling diameter so speedo out by almost 10% with 7% OEM error. This isn't a big problem for me really, other than when I finally track it that te 180 kmph limited will occur easier. - VDC and ABS should be fine I believe as almost the same reduction front and rear. - 235/40/19 and 255/36/19 - $200 more epxensive - Available mid August, although I can wait if need be - 2.2% and 2.6% smaller so a little less speedo error. - VDC and ABS almost the same conditions as above. Anyone have any comments?
  15. Not sure on the adapter. My car came with the rca inputs already in the centre console/arm rest. I think this goes in the back of the headunit so is more work, but maybe it'l fit in the unusual connector you have in the centre console. I do stress, I am not speaking from experience for this so hopefully someone whom has done this will comment. http://www.sinergymotorsports.com.au/cart/products-page/car-audio/video-rca-input-cable-harness/
  16. Co axial in the centre console. Perhaps it's just a matter of finding the right wires on the back of that plug and wiring them up to an rca plate? Would have thought the analogue video and audio input was on that plug. There would likely be info out there about this, either for the v3ů or G37 I'd say. Edit: I vaguely reebr reading itay have both composite and coaxial video on that plug.. But could be wrong.
  17. I'll have a look before the weekend. MIrabox or something it is. It has MIracast and Airplay capabilities with the coaxial video out and stereo out. I had to use a filter on the power to minmiise noise though. I also had a hdmi to coaxial/stereo box that I plugged my microsoft wirless display stick into and that worked. I stuck with the single MIrabox item though as it was slightly clearer. I can report on the exact model when I get to the car though. Was approaching $100 but should be found for less than that.
  18. Yeh for me voice calls through bluetooth are reliable and consistent. I have never had a drop out from the handsfree. I have never tried bluetooth for the music however so I can't comment on that. I use a wireless display device plugged into the video/audio inputs to get things on the v36 screen and speakers. This has proved very reliable for both video and audio with no dropouts. Problem with this however is the power drain on the phone during wireless screen casting of sat google maps, although for the music/audio still streams when the phones screen is off so it doesn't drain as badly then.
  19. I copied and pasted them in my initial post, which I believe the rims are 8.5 inch front and 9 inch rear. Tyres were 225/45/19 and 245/40/19
  20. Makes sense. Anyone used or advise the AD08R for daily use then? Just their marketing really focus' on the track. I don't mind firm ride or anything, and would prefer a good turnin an less tyre roll but more concerned about getting heat into them. Maybe I need to google a little more on them then.
  21. Yes there is only one size in 19's unfortunately which is the rear tyre size only so no staggered width (to match the stock setup and rims). The PS4S appear to have more sizes but isn't out yet. I'm contemplating waiting it out for the PS4S but will check the compound as I have driven R compound before (I think they were 140 treadwear or so) and found daily driving required wheel spin in the 200sx to get traction on a commute in winter. PS2 don't have suitable sizes in 19's for the V36 with stock 19 staggered rims from what I saw. Edit: OK, so the sites I was looking at had the 245/40/19 out of stock but appears 245/40/19 at front and 265/35/19 at the rear might be a possibility.... Although with the PS4 out I didn't look so hard at the PS2.. But this is a possibility now. The PS3 is less of a performance tyre than the PS2 and PS4 (it's not an upgraded PS2 design necessarily) from what I read so excluded that. But I could be wrong. The RS3 unfortunately only comes in the the 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 combo which is pushing the limits for the car and rims I believe. And the AD08 appears hard to find in the right sizes (or even 20mm wider front and back), but can find the R compound AD08R in suitable sizes (both front and back 20mm wider than stock and 1% smaller all round) but feel an R compound for 99% daily drive might not be the best choice coming into winter.
  22. Post is also in the V36 section, but I am moving more towards tyre choices now, rather than trying to see what others have done specifically for V36 coupe tyre sizes. Car: 2010 V36 Coupe SP Manual Mods: Minimal other than whiteline adjustable sway bars. Replacing: RE050A. Looking for a decent street tyre that will see one or two track days at wakefield in the next 2 years. I'm OK with waiting for warmth in the tyre, but don't really want something that has to be driven hard to get grip into it as I had some of them on the S15. It's coming into winter now otherwise I wouldn't have cared... But I want something reasonably sticky so not prepared for anything less than the grip level of the RE050A's. Tyre sizes are making this a harder choice. OEM 225/45/19 and 245/40/19. Front rims 8.5 inch and rear 9 inch. Looking at combo's 245/40/19 and 265/35/19 (about 1% smaller, 275 a little wide and will fit but not ideal i feel). 235/45/19 and 255/40 (good choice as F&R are both 1% taller). Speedo already reads 7% over (so 100 on the speedo is only 93 or so but this isn't a big decider). - PS4 no combo of sizes suitable, as in only the rear size, so ruling them out. - Invo's heard mixed opinions so ruling them out to make it easier. - Super Sports seem fairly decent reviews. Super sports would mean 245/40/19 on front and probably 265/35/19 on rear (275/35/19 is pushing the limit on 9 inch wheel and don't want to increase sidewall roll but they are also available). Around $1500 for all 4. - All sounding OK except the PS4S improved in a lot of areas over the super sports... they will land in July (estimate) so there will be a better replacement soon damn why did I need to read that . Why can't the PS4S be here already????????? Would have made the decision easy. Imported they are about $1900 in stock sizes so the most expensive option in my options so far. - AD08R can't seem to locate anything suitable for my sizes unfortunately. - S001 are meant to be OK, but some not so positive reports for bridgstone although mainly positive so not sure what to think here. 1% up in diameter both front and rear (235/45/19 and 255/40/19) so speedo getting closer to right. Sizes are OK. $1200 - Hankook RS3 in the only option suitable of 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 for $948. Cheapest decent tyre. Some mixed reports, but overall OK. Some reports of not having a lot of traction which is making me hesitate a little. The rear tyre size are pushing the limits of what I would like and no 265/35 available. Not many other combo's to stay close or as per OEM rolling diameter for them. - RE050A's well I don't really want to buy them again. Supposedly some like them, but not generally regarded as a great tyre. Hard for me to compare as they are the only ones I have had on it. So now I am down to the PS4S (imported), the S001's and the RS3's... Or wait for the PS4S to come here. Currently the PS4S are twice the RS3's and the S001's sit in the middle. Happy to be corrected on pour choices or comments above.
  23. More talking out loud. Luckily I have some time, although my inner edge rear is touching on illegal. Front are fine and generally the rear tyres are OK so I have some time still (but prefer to buy soon). - PS4 no combo of sizes suitable, as in only the rear size, so ruling them out. - Invo's heard mixed opinions so ruling them out to make it easier. - Super Sports seem fairly good decent reviews. Super sports would mean 245/40/19 on front and probably 265/35/19 on rear (275/35/19 is pushing the limit on 9 inch wheel and don't want to increase sidewall roll but they are also available). Or wait for the PS4S to come here, but expect rpices to be similiair to the Super Sports or a little more anyway.... SO maybe just import them now. Edit: I will also put this post in the tyre thread as its moving away from recommendations for V36 specific sizes now.
  24. Michelin Australia originally said mid 2017 for the PS4S as per the reports online, but after asking them in an email and saying mid 2017 could mean now until 4 months away, they say likely it's July
