  1. Hi All, I'm sure all of this has been covered over various topics however hoping to ask more specifically to suit my need. I have an '09 V36 Coupe Manual.... It currently is pretty stock standard (SP model with Leather as the only option). I was originally thinking of buying another S15 and turning that into more a track car but decided on the V36 as a daily and less money spent on mods. So needless to say, I'm not expecting to break any laptime records but I want to have a decent go at least. So the questions are; 1) It's running Bridgestone Re050a tyres, on the 19 inch stock rims, which seem OK once warm but not so good for traction in cold weather. Assuming they will get more grip once on a track in winter and probably cope with a good few spirited laps before wearing quickly or getting too hot. Ideally I would prefer to change over to Proxes R888 or Nito's NT01's but these existing tyres have plenty of meat left on them... Or will I be best not to destroy the re050's on the track? 2) Next question is sway bars. The stock ones seem good for country roads but I feel the car could sit flatter with upgraded sway bars. Any suggestions, maybe Whiteline???? Or not worth the expense for the odd track day? 3) Not so sure about the brake pads but I'd be sure to have a good look at them to make sure they have plenty of meat. Any suggestions for pads? Standard calipers and discs which I think are pretty decent yes? 4) Put some decent oil in it before the day, and also check all other fluid levels of coarse. 5) Any other suggestions? As I said, I don't expect to break any laptimes but want to have a reasonable go at it so small cost items like sway vars etc will be considered. And the tyres, well I'd prefer not to waste money but I can always have two sets of tyres I wear out over time I guess... If worth the while. Also, thinking about Wakefield so any suggestions of groups to go with NSCC although I think that might be a while away for their next meeting there. Oh and expected lap times? 1.15's or am I dreaming?
  2. I looked at sending Chris Rogers a pm but doesn't seem to allow me. Any contacts for him?
  3. I thought that was still aftermarket, but it used the steering wheel buttons and displayed on the dash. Hmm maybe I'll ask around about stock options then. I thought something like this was still aftermarket but only utilised the steering wheel buttons instead of another set of buttons. Pay a premium but it looks stock I guess. http://www.sinergymotorsports.com.au/cart/products-page/cruise-controls/accessories-cruise-control-nissan-skyline-v36/
  4. Differ between auto and manual that is.
  5. I know there are a few aftermarket cruise control systems out there for the V36 but they all seem pre programmed tune which makes me wonder how good it'll be on a manual car. Feeling is they would differ somewhat but assume all these cruise controls are either generic or more tuned for an auto. Anyone with a manual V36 here that's added cruise? If so what kit?
  6. Hmm. Well you were right. I intentionally got the go pro to isolate power issues like ground loops or any high frequencies while the car is running... But must have subconsciously plugged the power in as well as there are no more lines running on battery tonight. Interesting part is, the more rca plugged in the worse the interference lines get. Which seems to back up your theory of ground loops huh. And it's no worse with engine running or not so isn't noise due to the alternator. Looks like a ground isolation or something is in order. Thanks for the help. I'll report back if I find an easy but cheap solution.
  7. I'm gonna try the gopro again and make sure I didn't plug in the usb charge by habit... Hope I just messed up and it is ground loops as mentioned. Was suggested by someone else to measure the outer of the rca input to ensure there is no voltage there, and if not (which it shouldn't) then try grounding it directly to see if that changes anything. Also have one of those ferrite cores to try on the power source..
  8. Thanks for your response. The weird part is that my go pro running off its own battery does it. So I guess the ground loop must be in the car electrics and the ground of the composite signal (rather than the sources power) I made a point of using the go pro to isolate the ground of the power source but perhaps I had one of those moments and plugged the usb in as well.... Don't think so but I've done stranger things ha ha. To be continued tonight.
  9. No one got any comments? I thought someone would either comment to say they have perfect picture through composite (single yellow rca video) or component (rgb). Or more hoping that others might have had the same interference as me but fixed it.. Key point is it's only the video signal that has interference and it is the same with engine on or off. And only appears when a video source is plugged in (can't see it on black screen). I was hoping get feedback before pulling the centre console out and checking connections as that's the last resort. I'll likely have to pull the unit out as well which is what I was trying to avoid.
  10. Slightly unusual question. But I want to get 12 V, well 5v, into the V36 2008 coupe manual cup holder for a wireless charging pad. I plan to sit my phone on top of the roller shutter when there are no drinks in the cup holder. Space looks good, distance of charging looks good... But no power. Thinking of coming in the back of the cup holders but suspect that means the centre console needs to be removed. Not sure if there is easy power at the front where the switches are. Anyone done this unusual task?
  11. I'm surprised I couldn't find a topic in this but I did try. My V36 2008 with Sat nav came with the rca (composite) plugs in the centre console. I tried a mirabox and my go pro and both have minor picture interference (lines and not overly clear) unfortunately. Sounds is fine however. Interference is the same with engine running or just on accessories. I'm thinking a filter at the input would only help if it was from the source. Anyone else have this. I'm either thinking it's not a great connection and to resolve it. Or tap into the component (rgb) input but this involves the radio out I believe (???). Would this improve the picture anyway? Or preference would be a filter in the centre console but have my doubts this will help. Suggestions? I want as clear a picture I can get from a miracast box but don't want to pull the radio out if it isn't likely to help much.
  12. Does the cruise come with everything (detailed installation guide) and no damage or modifications? So other than the brake (clutch as well I assume) power and ground it will plug directly into a 2008 V36? If so, I'll offer 300 including shipping to Sydney.
  13. I've got that little switch on mine but the mirrors don't seem to tilt.. I assume top of the switch pushed in is the right way to activate them? Is there anywhere else that the tilting mirror can be deactivated?
