  1. NEED HELP Installing Tachometer R34 Installing a AfterMarket TachoMeter So guys I'm trying to install a AfterMarket Tachometer on my R34 Skyline GTT 98. It's a Autotechnica one (Picture Below) The Tachometer has RED 12v Wire White (Lights up the Tachometer) Wire Black (Ground Earth) Wire & Green ( Tacho Sensor ) Now the only problem is I can't figure out what color my Tacho Wire is on my ECU I've looked up the diagram and it says Pin 7 but what color would it be, its hard to see and trace back. Someone has said Green/Yellow, some say Red/Yellow but which one is it, I don't want to cut the wrong wire. And also where would be the best place to hook up the Red Power Wire and the White Wire. I'm installing it on my Dash Cluster to replace my current one, because my Tachometer on my Original Dash isn't working properly so I'm using this to replace it.

  3. So I got it replaced with genuine, now have a look at the Repco one that got pulled out
  4. Yeah go for Genuine guys or worst case scenario just get a GMB (Japan) Brand, don't go for anything else people.
  5. The car was crashed and pushed my harmonic balancer in, there for my belt was spinning retarded, and had to get my balancer replace and change all my belts and timing kit and water pump. Now it's all good
  6. They got Repco Brand, WP898RP. They got GMB one which is Japan made but had to order it in and then there's a TRUFLOW brand too. But I got Repco cause I got it really cheap. But you get for what you pay for.
  7. It was a rb25det engine, r34 GTT, I only went a little hard a few times after I got it majorly Service (haven't even RED line it yet, how sad) and after a week of driving, next thing you know there was no coolant left and the car over heated bad. I was like wtf seriously !?
  8. I purchase the water pump so all goods they can pay me back including labour cause yeah not my fault it was faulty after less than 2 weeks of it getting replaced
  9. So I took it back to the mechanic and it is the Water Pump, the weep hole was where it was leaking from ! It only got changed 1000kms ago so here's the deal guys, DO NOT BUY REPCO WATER PUMP FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE CARS, it will bust on you ! So need to replace the water pump since it's gone now ! Getting a genuine one from Nissan to be safe!
  10. From the looks of it, the Water pump looks good still, touched it and felt no wetness. I'm thinking i must've destroyed my Head gasket and its leaking from there :S Which im hoping thats not the Case ! P.s When i got the car back from mechanics which was exactly 3 weeks ago, the car was fine no leaks nothing. Then just 2 days ago on the way home from going out, My Oil gauge in the center console went to the middle which is not normal for me. and the ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ! Then next thing you know, I got no coolant in the Radiator and no coolant in the Reservoir Bottle. And knowing i drove it without any WATER OR COOLANT whatsoever I must've busted the whole leak Bigger cause now when i start the engine not even for a minute you can see the coolant leaking from somewhere at the engine zz I should never have got this car Had way too many problems one after another due to previous owner not taking care of it. Major service i have done before this Leak happen: (Just 3 weeks ago so everything is still new) Timing Belt Kit (Idler Puller & Tension) Replace 3 V-Belts (Alternator, AirCon, PowerSteering) New Water Pump with gasket Replaced ! Valve Cover Gasket ( Rocket Cover ) Thermostat Replaced This was all done professionally at a Mechanic who specialists In SKYLINE AND MANY JAP SPORT CARS so no dodgy job here.
  11. COOLANT LEAKING R34 GTT So I realise this when my oil temperature went up half way about 110 degrees on a normal drive, came home after half an hour of driving and turned off the engine and check the engine and it was literally boiling you can hear it!! Next morning I went to check the coolant in the radiator and it was GONE, I thought I blew the head gasket!! I poured about 4 litres off coolant and it was back to normal but then I realise there's coolant leaking where my water pump is, I'm not certain it's the water pump but it's all around that area, and it drips down to where my oil sump is what do you guys think and it's not little drips, I turn the car on and it drips a nice puddle in less than a minute :0 I checked my oil and there's no milky or any smoke from exhaust, just a leak, could be thermos housing but the leaks looks more above it thing is my mechanic replaced the water pump, and whole timing kit and also my 3 belt just 1 month ago. So it's still new ! Heres some pictures
  12. So now it got worst and now my REV Is OVER 9000 !!!! And got stuck there Now should I just replace the whole cluster ?
  13. Same thing is happening to me, I wonder what is the problem zz I've been using my phone for GPS Speedometer
  14. Hey thanks 89cal but you have so much post and reply I can't seem to find the topic on your profile LOL
  15. It's happening to me ATM , sometimes it works and other times when I'm driving my speedo meter and rev just drops to 0 ! Not sure what the problem is, fuse is fine, got new battery. Still having the issue, at the moment I'm just using a GPS speedometer on my phone to keep track of my speed on the road zz
  16. It could be your timing belt ! Might as well replace the timing idler pulley and tensioner while at it
  17. Instrument Cluster not Working Properly ! (Tacho & Rev) So i have this problem when i got the car, Its been through a crash before i got it The Issue with it is that the Rev and Tacho doesn't work sometimes, for example ill be driving and the speedo and rev would be fine and then it would just both drop to 0 and the Kilometers on my dash would just disappear ! only thing that would be working is my Fuel gauge and my oil gauge ! so i wouldnt know what speed im going or how high my rev is, and then it would just come back to life after driving for a while. Sometimes i start the car and it wouldn't even work. So most of the time i have to have my GPS Speedo reader on my phone so i can keep track of my speed. The fuse is fine, i hear people telling me to replace the Instrument Cluster but im worried it would do the same thing because it is working and for some stupid reason instead of my REV being at 1000RPM when its warm and stationary its always at 2000RPM, some faulty shit going on but the engine is running perfectly fine. People said the Speed sensor might be faulty at the Ground cable, but what do people think it is PLEASE HELP !!
  18. Hey mick but thanks I manage to get a oem second hand one, apparently these light weight ones don't fit so great and need adjustment with the belts for the neo gtt. Car is running smooth as nice thanks
  19. So in the end it was my timing belt, my harmonic balancer was off, changed the exhaust manifold gasket and turbo gasket and changed all my belt and bam fixed it all, and then changed my water pump and valve cover. Now it runs like a dream haha spent about $2k in total for parts and labour. Now I'm broke lol
  20. Hmm Very strange, Have you got it fixed yet ? If yes what was the problem
  21. May i ask where you got the After Market Light weight one from and was it a Direct fit for the GTT ?
  22. Someone looks like they had a blast on that seat and couldn't hold on to anything so he scratched your panel and left a big happy ending stain. USE SCOTCH GAURD AND RUB IT OFF WITH A CLOTH, or any carpet cleaner from a AUTOSHOP !! The scratches looks bad just pull the panel out and like wrap it with carbon fibre or some sort
  23. So I just went to get it checked out and turns out it was the turbo gasket, apparently it's a common problem but thank god it's not the bearings !! thanks for the information guys !
  24. Kiwi thanks a lot man I'm gonna try that battery terminal method and if that doesn't work then I'll check the cluster, thanks for the info I'll get back to this and see how it went
