  1. Could threads like this please be left up for future reference? It might be resourceful when choosing who to deal with online....
  2. '97 Hyundai Sonata, Slammed on rims, uber-loud exhaust, custom boot, $hitloads of cash spent.....even planned a 6G72TT engine swap (Twin Turbs V6 from 3000GT) .... then I got some brains......
  3. I think the laws are a knee-jerk, as a few other people said. I too, am scared that it's all upto "The coppers interpretation" of what hooning is. I drive down a street at about 30km/h and just the BOV sounding quietly together with a loud exhaust is enough to get the onlookers yelling at me to slow down! It's all about perception, an older cop will think that someone is "hooning" before a younger cop will. I've yet to meet a decent copper, however many times I try to be civil and show respect to them, I get reamed. Sorry boys, you've ruined it for yourselves! I now take each and every infringement to court and play hardball with them, as they do to me. Tit for Tat, it's only fair. The police have the power of autonomy in situations relating to infringements, whatever they say goes, and WE have to prove OUR innocence. That's not right, anywhere in the world. It's a whole new can of worms being opened I see......
  4. The point is: The departments f*cked up. HE should not have to pay for THIER mistakes! That's my 2c.
  5. Daym, sorry to hear Dan. What exactly happened buddy ?
  6. OMG. That is GREAT news! SO happy for you Liz, I remember when you told me I was like "That's so sad!" Good to hear it worked out for ya!
  7. Hey Manual, You don't happen to drive that Silver Magna with the plates [MANUAL] do you ?
  8. OH, and if there's a DIN sized face plate/black/sunny holder/flip down or whatever, I'm interested PM me your price p.s. Alcohol is an acceptable currency
  9. hahah, me too!I've got new and improved dodgy wiring techniques for EL gauges now tho! I just couldn't believe things like windows up/down were affected by a fuse that a boost sensor broke!! WTF!
  10. zanda, YUP. that's what I'm talking about :| tomj, Even tho explicitly stated in the T&C of SAU it says all views expressed are only opinions of members and do not reflect those of SAU. Moral bit: Whatever happened to free speech? I'd like to walk down the street one day bitching about a topic to a mate and have some random boogieman come stickytape my mouth shut!
  11. Russell, I'm still up for taking that dash perspex of your hands
  12. adding to that Fane, I was running 9psi, with NO AFC, and a 2.2' 60' time....I had around 230rwhp around that time *cough* oh, it was 13.96 too - let's not forget the 0.02! now that teh AFC is in, I gots more power and less traction. P.S. Falken's are sh*t tyres for dragging!
  13. I think the mods are too lock happy... Any time a spirited conversation is started and actually INTERESTING to read, either mod's lock it, with no reason or completely remove it so noone else can read it. Meh!
  14. *click search* A few people have these, they were something like $110 each. Noone is willing to copy it, etc cos "of copyright law" bunch of non-sharing soft****s....
  15. If anyone buys it, I'm interested in the dash perspex, gearboot surround, and if it has those little seat-belt hands? P.S. Such a shame
  16. FIXED! It was a faulty stock boost sensor/connection! The reason the car wouldn't boost above 5psi is that it couldn't get a reading from the sensor to know how much boost to use! Believe it or not: When you pull the "Meters" fuse, your windows stop working too! (WTF?) Can't confirm the RSM Speed reading yet.. but I think it'll be fixed... gonna take it for a drive.. P.S. Funny thing is, i hadn't done any wiring in the car for MONTHS.... hence I was so suprised!
  17. Some of you may have seen my post here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=34704 But i'll just repost it here to be sure... if anyone can shed some light on what's happening that'd be great! Okay, Just jumped in my car to go out this morning and while waiting for the fuel pump to prime (those 3-4 seconds between ACC and ON positions) All my gauges died! No Boost meters/No Tacho/Speedo ? WTF? I have replaced the "Meters" Fuse only to have it blow repeatedly?! And to add something else to the mix... the RSM now doesn't pick up speed either! (Not sure if they're related as I thought the ECU Recieved speed from the gearbox sensors?) And now another thing: My Electric windows don't work! (Yes, Ive checked ALL fuses w/multimeter etc, AND the fusible link thinggy's under the bonnet marked P/WDW) All OK. Still no luck ? Please Help anyone? I can't even go to buy more fuses as I have no speedo!

  19. Like zanda said... if these only go in your normal headlights.. what's the big deal? Your existing high beams are still there anyway.... Although Xenon lights sound enticing.... I'd probably give this one a miss, as _really_ they're just headlights!
  20. Yeah, what about those Bosch Super4 plugs ? anyone used them? Any thoughts ?
  21. Jeez Ben, if it aint your clutch, it's your engine ? Not going for a rebuild then ? what's the plan ?
  22. Ever since our 'incident' where cars got damaged by randoms on a cruise, I carry my trolley jack pole on the back seat. Not that I'd be a thug and actually use it, but a good deterrent is tall wired-looking crackfiend IT-guy bearing a hurtpole of some description.
  23. I use Bendix Ultimate, and apart from knowing they're not the absolute Duck's nuts of pads, they do thier job well, and pull up a shitload better than stocker/no-name pads. They take quite a beating before they get brake fade (albeit 5+ repeated stops from 190+ -> 0 km/h ) The good thing is, they bite hard and don't lock up the rubber unless pushed to the limit. Considering this, I'm thinking for my next set of pads will be something like the Ferrodo 3000's. Only heard good about these.
  24. Yeah, sounds like a typical kym job to me, if it doesnt fit first, bash it a little! then it went crack....whoops! zanda, Thanks dude, I'll give some local ones a try and see what I come up with....if not I'll look for a few wreckers. memphis, YES. I will DEFINITELY take your old one off your hands! PM me as soon as you know more! uneekwahn, One more big thumbs up for these EL gauges hey. Still can't get over how good they look during the day too!
  25. Dan, Out of preference, I'd always go the GTR, but the EVO is a great package... albeit a little on the exxy side of things for a nice one... Take note of the interior too, it quite frankly isn't too flash.. and quite basic.... Whatever choice you make, it'll be a good one! You can't go wrong with either.. -Kym. P.S. You have way too much fold mate! Wish I was in your shoes
