  1. on another forum it is advertised as having a T3 connection, which is it?
  2. i still can't beleive you even bothered to get the 30DET tuned at all with an RB20 turbo, but i guess you just wanted it running ASAP which is understandable. as a comparison, a friend of mine had an RB30DET and he was using a TO4E with a big front wheel (can't remember exact specs) but get this: the rear used a 1.33 a/r. the turbo was off a big HP rotor, but the 30DET spooled it to 20psi by 4000rpm. boy did that thing have some stink in it. in short, you can run quite a large turbo off these buggers and still get decent spool time. of course, being 3 litres, high compression and twin cam, you probably won't even notice that it's off-boost most of the time..... in a few weeks i'll throw up some pics of my engine in this thread, you guys might be interested to see just how far i am going to reduce lag
  3. i bought this about 2 months ago. p.s. steve if you read this, check your pm's on calaisturbo i need your loom and ignitor.
  4. i wouldn't say "ample", but it will certainly do it with a minimum of lag. it's about the smallest turbo i would recommend for such a power level, which is to say that is exactly what i would use.
  5. good info there - now i'm thinking it might be easier to get three waste spark coils from another car and graft them into the loom. it can't be THAT hard and would keep the buggers from getting too hot as seems to be the case.
  6. shit, it's a series one i just found out. are the series two coils much better in any respect? thinking of going wasted spark with some falcon coils or something and remote-mounting on the firewall with leads. seems easier and it appears some people have issues with the 25 coils while others do not.
  7. let me get this straight - the series 2 R33 uses no ignitor, but the series 1 R33 uses an external ignitor for the coils? is there any easy way of telling which series head i have, the head is going onto an RB30 bottom end and i'm not sure!
  8. not trying to cut your grass here steve but you can get powerFC's brand spankers from a number of forums' sponsors for less than $1000
  9. it happens more at high revs because of the need for greater airflow and hence, chamber inlet velocity. i don't know much about the 26 springs but i do know that people have made more than 350rwkw @ 20-odd psi using the standard springs.
  10. i repeat, what engine? there are lots of factors here, like how large the valve surface area is and what the seating power of the spring is. valve bounce is what you are talking about, where the valve doesn't seat fully because of large inlet pressures. other people call it "valve float" too.
  11. i have known SOHC RB30's to run 10's and produce 300rwkw+ with them.
  12. for $1700 USD it'd wanna suck me and **** me! that list is good, but tell me when you're going to use more than one or two definable outputs, or inputs. traction control is very useful though.
  13. what engine, what springs, what setup? there has been some conjecture that above 1bar on the R33 RB25DE head (softer springs) valve bounce can occur. other people have seen more than 350rwkw with standard valve springs in the DET heads.
  14. mate if you're interested in posting the DE loom to brisbane i'll give you $50 for it! must be in pretty decent nick though, no rooted plugs etc.
  15. email him - he's very prompt! sold the Q45 AFM to me in less than five minutes with three emails back and forth.
  16. *bump* for cheap prices, also the Q45 AFM is sold to me! cheers!
  17. this guy obviously doesn't want to sell these parts guys, don't bother.
  18. sweet, 50 thou, no worries mate! now i can deck the block and head by a combined 10 thou and get my flat 40 thou of quench. cheers!
  19. once more, any ideas on nissan RB30 head gasket thickness at full torque?
