  1. Gearbox, drive shaft and axles have already been swapped out for bigger and better items. This tune is just that another stepping stone to the main goal. I’m not one to go all in at 1000hp and crash the thing. With each upgrade I need to re learn and get used to how the car feels. Once this step in done the final step will most likely be e85 and a full re work of the fueling system. Baby steps to get used to the power
  2. One big thing people leave out about e85 is the amount of fuel you use vs pump. I have done research and talked to people and for a street driven car to and from work and the shops it was way out. I get flex fuel and running a pump tune and a e85tune. im still running 1000cc injectors, Steve thinks they will be done with water meth. I know for that 1000hp number e85 will most likely have to be used to get the bang going
  3. I understand the tuning side of it. If I have a max tube of e75 but I am only ever running e60 I won’t be using the cars full power until I reach e75. Hence why running meth was the option for me. We did look at running a C fuel but the cost was way up there for now. If e85 makes a come back I will look at it again also I want to step the power up bit by bit. If I was to go from 300kw to 600kw in one jump I think I would crash. Not only that but parts of the car won’t handle 600kw now like tyres, 265 only just hold the 450kw now so new wheels and tyres will be on the cards. Have got the green light to drop the car off Friday
  4. Also another reason is I do drive my car most weekends and during the week if I get the chance so being able to hit any pump and fill it up is a huge win. The plan for this motor was always to aim 1000hp be that engine or wheel. So by moving up to the new holset over the instergram turbos is that he’s only 2hrs away. He had huge input into what went into my engine. He has never done me wrong and his turbos and the bees knees. Not to mention that the turbo on the car was only ment for 600engine and we are over 600 at the wheels.
  5. If I get a tune to say e70 I would still need to mix the fuel and store it. If I got a tune to e85 and the fuel ordered isn’t e85 then I am at a loss. Water meth is easy and meth is cheap and easy to get a hold of. Running a 50/50 mix will last ages and is only used when a peak boost is hit
  6. E85 in nz is hit and miss and can’t buy it at the pump yet, if we ever will be able to buy it at the pump again hence water/meth and it’s a lot easier to deal with means more money of only car things. Sticking with holset again hasn’t done me any wrong yet and Steve is a super good guy can ask him again and he gets straight back to me quick as.
  7. So been talking to my turbo builder and tuner for the pass couple months now trying to lock down a turbo and set up. My current exhaust manifold is only id35mm and my turbo builder is asking for a 39mm. So now car is booked in for a stainless manifold at 39mm id and that’s for the gen2 holset. Also my tuner is going to hook up water meth aswell. E85 is to much hassle and trying to get it here in time for a track day would be hard enough but meth is everywhere. (Can you mix the white stuff up) So now trying to lock in a week to get it all done and back by August for another event. Power goals I’m among for would be around 550rwkw but we will have to wait and see.
  8. Unsure, has been in the car for awhile now. Running 265 semis on the back does make hard tight turns. Could have been wear and tear I guess
  9. Wow it’s been awhile since I have updated this. Have been braking and replacing parts again. Axles have been changed to DMAX axles and the nismo 2 way destroyed another crown where just outside my house and I wasn’t even driving the car. So how have 2 rebuild r200 2ways now so having a spare will keep it on the Raod with little down time. Track time and drag time haven’t been high COVID killed that so my seat time has been very little. Did put a quick release on to make getting in and out easier NRG boss and release was the way to go and makes it way cleaner as well. Also did this to be different. And just some more pics from a track day we went to. Also got some instergram cam covers IMG_1210.MOV Should have another up date in the next couple of weeks if all goes to plan
  10. This is my dyno on a holset hxc35/2 it’s a nz build turbo with manifold and head to suit That is all run on 98pump. It can be done. I don’t have a boost graph sorry to show how it picks the boost up but as you can see it picks up power 80% of the way in the revs. If your going to build the motor build it once and build it right
  11. Have you given thought to how much this is going to cost you. It’s all fine putting a $4k turbo on a car to make xxxhp but is it work it when a cheaper turbo will do the same. These big turbo names are just wank factor for 300kw. Next step is once you board of 300kw what’s next
  12. I run just shy on 400kw on the street and it’s very easy to drive change gear at 3500 and it’s normal car, alright on fuel and does what it needs to do. Running 265s semis on the back help lots. Let them warm up and you get a little wheel spin in 1st and 2nd but nothing to cry about. Having full boost down low in the revs will put the motor under strain. You will still make boost lower down just not max boost until 4500-5000rpm. If you make max boost at 3500-4000 that’s going to run out at 8000-8500 and the load that low will brake something. Everyone will have different story’s about this that and the next thing so it’s up to you what you pick and choose
  13. There are aftermarket axles you can buy called dmax, I run them do a quick google of them and see if they fit what you need
  14. Because it takes 30secs for the oil to move around the engine.
  15. Don’t have to rebleed it and it’s a simple push and turn vs 2 bolts and it hanging in the way, it’s also the same price for the clutch line and when your box is out as many times as this one is it makes sense to do so
  16. Changed mine to a quick change line and to be honest I didn’t notice anything different. I’m running a r4c clutch and it feels the same. Quick change line is braid it just had a cam lock in the middle, makes taking the box out easy
  17. So having the cage in and it being teched I can now run 10s with out being kicked off. had the fun day at meremere where you can take passengers so my partner and kids headed up for the day. Wasn’t meant cars there maybe 25 in total, that ment very little waiting. Did 6 back to back runs twice then 2 more before calling it a day. Managed to run 3 10s being a 10.9 and 2 10.8s and taking my partner and son down both being in the car when it ran a 10 was wicked and loved hearing there reactions at the other end. Next up is our NZ GTR fest not quick like you guys have over the ditch but still going to be a cool day.
  18. You also know that kelford can do a custom grind for you aswell. you ask and they make.
  19. Less moving parts and the pin won’t pop out when your putting the box back in.
  20. So new turbo is on the back burner but car now has a 6 point cage
  21. I run a 2way full time. All comes down to have you like your set up to be. I’m a little happy on the track with front brake bias high and steer with the rear. If you don’t like the rear being a little loose on corner exit just run a stock lsd and you will be fine
  22. Bit you can spend it on Reno’s then re borrow on the improvements and that way it keeps both party’s happy. She gets new kitchen and he gets go fast bits
  23. So with the new year here we have decided to swap turbos and exhaust manifolds and run a holset gen2 that’s a kiwi made turbo and run a aem meth kit. With the aim of around 500-550kw at the wheels. fingers crossed it shouldn’t take long and maybe push a 9sec quarter
  24. I think what BK is meaning that you don’t have to learn via failures as people before you have done and found the correct way to do it. looks like someone robbed your brakes and put gts brakes on it. You have a huge job ahead of you but it will be fun and a huge learning experience have to source parts that are already hard to find. I look forward to seeing your progress
