  1. Wow Christian, hope you made sure that new gear they put into you was Tomei and not some cheap second hand N1 pump Or noisy valve aye, maybe HKS SSSQ? Do you make blow off and flutter noise when you sleep now? That'd be super cool. Arduino - I've been playing with it for the SAU:NSW super un-secret project. Let me know what you're up to and maybe I can give you a hand. But I am a bit of a hack. If you want TV shows and stuff let us know. I've got lots of Top Gear UK and other stuff to watch. Also highly recommend Diablo 3 if you're into that sort of thing. Played the beta and it rocked.
  2. Jez, Dibs on the Trust front pipes if they are the ones that go all the way from the Turbo to the Cat.
  3. Our official calendar of events is here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/331711-s-a-u-n-s-w-club-events/ Next Nirimba Tafe Texi is in June.

This video isn't mine (I wish!) but thought I'd post it in here cause there are so many of you talented light painters in here. Ah, if only had the money to buy 80 or so cameras to do bullet time shots!
  5. I only took a few pics as well. I hope some of you also took the opportunity to take some pictures of your pride & joy while in the Hunter too. Lots of great back drop scenery.
  6. Nice shots there Alex. Are those through the windscreen? Suprisingly no glare if they are. Kudos to your Mrs!
  7. Spotted so many nice skylines yesterday on Putty rd cruise. Plenty of 32's, 33's, 34's and even a 35! Lots of stags and even a chaser!
  8. Sorry Guys, was our faux pas not having one clearly marked out. If you feel compelled, you can donate here on-line. http://www.rspca.org.au/how-you-can-help/donate/
  9. Wrap-up threads always go in the general NSW section. Events section isn't for chit chat after an event just for the event info and chat leading up to it. One of the admins must have also kindly cleaned up the thread in here and moved it. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/398379-nsw-22-apr-12-putty-road-cruise-wrap-up-thread/
  10. Surprised no one has posted this here. Anyone that can't wait another month for Diablo III to release can participate in the open Beta. They are stress testing their servers from 20th - 23rd 10am (US Pacific time). So you only have less than two days left on the beta. The download is about 2 gigs. Played battlenet last night with Aggroman and his brother so party battles are working. The beta is extremely limited. Only about 4 quests. Enjoy! http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/4963739/Diablo%C2%AE_III_Open_Beta_Weekend-4_19_2012
  11. I was just wondering that too, but this cruise tends to bring a lot of people that don't post a lot. I'll be there at the meet up point. See ya folks out there. Weather does look decent at the moment.
  12. Wow, I had no idea he fell ill. Hope all the best for a speedy recovery. Duncan, is there anything we could do as a club to send him a car package or something?
  13. I spoke with them directly and they said they weren't going to make any changes to the structure of their club day offering. Like it or not, we have little say and minimal influence for change. To rent a lane you have to pre-book 20 spots at the normal $50 rate (from memory). And then they put you in the "short lane" so I assume they still have all the lanes open but just rotate through the grid like normal. We can poll for interest in doing this but might just be easier to agree a date and show up ad-hoc since you really don't gain all that much on a normal Wed night.
  14. I've had to cancel it. Last year we only barely scraped enough entrants and the feedback was it was too expensive, even though you get to run all day long. We approached several other clubs about joining us but same feedback. Given the financial position of our events at the moment it didn't make sense to keep an event on the calendar that would be a significant financial loss.
  15. Yup dates and details up soon (hint - check the events calendar!). Jarrad, either event will be fine. Just put your time down on your entry and you'll be grouped accordingly so that some time attack car doesn't run you down.
  16. Yup, Great bunch of people. They run the Skyline Nationals and if it weren't for the fact that we're going to be so busy with the 10th Aniversary of SAU / SAU Nationals we'd probably be doing a joint event this year.
  17. Hi Nik, I'm the current President for SAU:NSW. Shoot me a pm. Thanks.
  18. Woohoo finally spotted. Nope sorry Mate didn't notice ya.

Quick Jay, carve Matt & [insert fiance name here] into that tree as your wedding presso. hehe. Congrats Matt!
  20. Wow Kory's work is top shelf as always! I'll be ordering a print to hang on the wall. For you guys that aren't in to photography, it isn't just point and shoot to get shots like that. To get that lovely motion blur takes a skill called Panning. I'm a little into photography (prefer video) and will only get 1 shot in 20 with decent panning. Then they spend the time to get the color and fine adjustments on each photo. If you like their work, throw them a few bucks and support them. Thanks Kory!
  21. Naw, our three is bone stock. Only mod I'm allowed to make to it is to change the steel stocker wheels for mags when the tyres wear out. There is also some R33 GTR in black that works in the Hyundai bldg in N. Ryde. I've given him a wave - even in my GTR but pays no attention or maybe He thinks I'm gay trying to pick up on him or som'n. lol
  22. Spotted a nice clean Black R33 GTST with 400R Bar and sideskirts going down Lane Cove Road after work yesterday. Looked like gold center rims with silver rim - GTC's? I would have waved but was in the stealthy Mazda 3.
  23. ^^^ All cars are an issue once you've driven over the limit and sliding. The GTR being AWD will allow you to use the power to adjust, but if you are at high speed do NOT let off suddenly or else you'll get big compression locked rear and flat spin (personal experience over the blind crest at Oran Park - big flat spin!). A RWD car you should let off the power to regain some traction and then adjust. All better than a FWD car where all you can do is steer and hope. Really your choice is just that - your choice. IMO both high spec Euro and GTR's are great choices but it comes down to personal preference. A GTR is a timeless icon, in my opinion. There will always be some passion about them because of all the attention it's gotten in video games and the media. But as others have said it is based on dated technology. In it's day it was at the top of the league. But compared to newer cars it is totally different. It's like the Top Gear UK episode where they bought 70's era supercars and compared them to a modern economy hatchback. The econo hatch was quicker around the track just because technology was better and the age of the older cars. 20 years ago 206kw was considered a lot. Now days you base line pick-up truck makes that. I have no reservations about driving my GTR as a daily. It is modified and currently 300AWKW. Consumes a bit of petrol, but that's the nature of tye type of car it is and my sucky commute to work. I've engineered the car purposely to be compromised between performance and comfort. Mind you, that definition based on my own comfort level - not everyone will put up with coil overs, screeming 044 fuel pump and the sqeeks and rattles that come with moderately stiff suspension. But it still has A/C, big stereo and full interior. I love the way it handles and I have great confidence knowing where the limits of the car and conditions. But my own passion with my GTR is like the guy that drives a classic v8 muscle car. The GTR is Japan's muscle car. It's big, heavy and powerful. They can be very quick, but to compete with modern technology cars is comparing different leagues. I only drive hard on the track, but when I do there is nothing I can compare to the feeling of a modified GTR. It's brute power and rear biased AWD make it such a unique proposition. You can really drive all out and the car just responds. I'm sure I could drive faster in a lighter less powerful car, nothing puts a smile on your dial like track driving a GTR. The way the power comes on, the tail kicks out but you just stay on it and let the 4wd kick so you can do a mild powerslide through a corner at 100+ kph - I haven't had any other experience like that. If you want comfort, quick and refined style - go high end Euro car. If you like aggresive tuner and video game culture - go GTR. I can see the attraction of both and can honestly say that if I were to trade in my GTR right now (and I had the funds) I'd be torn between the new GTR and a Porsche. But that's just theoretical. Hope that gives you a new perspective.

    April

Just saw that we're week into the month and no one has started an April thread. Here are a few photos that I thought I had lost. Took them about a year ago at Marulan. Just re-discovered that I had in fact saved them.
  25. There are a few guys with them and the KEY is to get a tuner that knows how to bring them on early and get good results. I'm planning on a -5 upgrade sometime in the future just don't know when the funds will clear up to allow it. Check in for the next Texi @ Quaker's hill in June and I'm sure there should be someone running a -5 set up. Paul's car (Piggaz) is a 2.8 stroker with -5 and the thing is a real beast (also on e85).
