  1. i think thats already been proven. check out the further feedback from Dr Drift (Sam) about response....and thats with a 80mm tb on a 1.8
  2. everyone is entitled to their opinion, but what i am after is facts, black and white ever heard of the word efficiency.....of course you will continue making power if you put more boost into it...its how you make the power with how much (*read little) boost what really counts and shows people what the tuner/builder are really made of. you want low down response, go check out the "custom plenum install" thread on ns.com and that may surprise a few i will be doing some back to back testing coming up real soon on a rb25 skyline making 390rwhp on 17psi with standard internals and exhaust manifold, which some may say is the perfect receipient. if all goes to plans we will be logging every 1-2psi and anywhere from around 200rwhp to 400++rwhp to show a true indication of what it does at all power levels until then, i am happy to listen to all the keyboard warriors tell me their theories, because thats all they are. please dont give me that crap that they are only good for over 300rwkw's because there is nothing to back that up..anywhere !!!! apart from the odd post whore just jump on the sceptic (lets call it the "i heard") band wagon...you never know, i may join you or on the other hand guess what will be next on your shopping list Ariel
  3. why thank you...he surely didn't come back with a response for a good reason short runners and big plenums work if done correctly
  4. Hi Hoang, Yes there are gains to be had. I wont give you an exact figures, because i cant as it is depednant on each engine and its specifications, but in general, YES. GeeTR - this is the pic with a 80mm bilet throttle body
  5. my offer still stands
  6. how much for the inlet runners bare, no injectors or rail ?
  7. DRIFTERRB25 - are they r33 ? if so ill take them for $100 posted.
  8. i am blown away by the result. i am consdering slapping the stock parts back in and doing the same as you. what has been done to the head, cams, springs, porting (if any) ?
  9. Hi Hoang, for the most accurate response, i would call the company who does this sort of work. They would be the most knowledgeable/honest persons when it comes to this, and since a lot of info on forums are secondhand, it would be highly recommended.
  10. ill pick it up for $80
  11. Devils_Advocate21 - refer to spoolup and 2bnvs dyno results, these are both 25/30's but you get the idea. dontfeelcold - they sure are but were are not here to talk about my plenums, mod's get the sh1ts and with good reason, i am just sharing what i have learnt from my experience. as Cubes says, it is not all about flow or how evenly it flows on a bench because real world stories for turbocharged engines are a different ball game. there are plenums out there that flow very very evenly on the flow bench, wont name them but the 2jz ones made in the US are big $$$'s (read: rip off), but require adjustment to fuel distribution to the rear cylinders 5 & 6. then again you look at the flow results of several rb30 plenums that retain all or part of the standard runners which show variances from 3-8% and have absolutely no problem with distributing air which provides some of the best consistency between cylinders without adjustment of individual injector/s - poor old microtechs dont have that function YET PS forgot to mention all those results are acheived with a 80mm billet throttle body....kind of makes you think what people say about big throttle bodies and short rrunners huh..........:):)
  12. my old car, several rb25s, rb30s, ca18s, sr20s (plus 2jz's, 4g63's etc etc) in Oz, Europe and USA. one in particular vl (rb30) made 25psi by just over 3000rpm with a 35/40 and a 1.06 exhaust housing.
  13. anyone ??? please name your price so i dont insult you with my offer
  14. dont be fooled by the short runners theory. i have seen short runner plenums make less lag, more torque and power creating some of the most responsive packages considering the other boltons used.

  22. please delete - refer to wanted section
  23. complete different patterns. xf is 66.5mm stud to stud and approx 94mm diagonally q45 is 78mm stud to stud and approx 111mm diagonally just chop the q45 plate off and run the standard throttle body, there should be no problems with it for 250rwkw.
