^ Had these exact symptoms when i had new ever-so-slightly larger rolling diameter tyres put on the back. The attessa fault codes are easy to read, the led on the unit in the boot flashes a certain amount of times for the fault code(s) with a pause in between each fault. Just search on here for the code listing.

Which Garrett Turbos Should I Get?
heller44 replied to Godzilla32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
True. Originally was going to do the same. I had planned on keeping the stock exhaust manifolds, just port matching them in/out. Are you keeping yours stock or swapping? -
Which Garrett Turbos Should I Get?
heller44 replied to Godzilla32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just checked my emails, the gasket kit was $283, i don't think that had post in that though.. ripped open one of the packets with a drain in it, bolt holes line up perfectly. Not going to reuse the old parts. -
Which Garrett Turbos Should I Get?
heller44 replied to Godzilla32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hmm... very interesting. id tag says, KJ 0134J GT2560R 707160-5 Strange that they are still using what I thought was the old gt number even though the part number is the same. Checked with the dumps that I have here and they match up perfectly, a set of secondhand old-style mines dumps, that will go nicely with the secondhand apexi front pipes... gotta love parts that don't wear out. edit: Whats a 2530 kit going for now delivered? ~$3500? I bought my pair for $2540 delivered, and then had a brain fart and bought the fitting kit from nengun.. waited over 2.5 months for delivery but I have it all for significantly cheaper than the 2530 kit. -
Which Garrett Turbos Should I Get?
heller44 replied to Godzilla32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Deren, Have you considered what the power and responses you want from your car afterward? Maybe look at the gt-ss kit, almost the same price. In saying that and tossing up which turbs to buy myself, I have a pair of new 2860-5's sitting here in my office waiting for christmas to fit... -
Sorry that I can't help, I only have the gtr/gts4 wiring diagrams, not the gtst one. Wouldn't have thought that it would be that hard to get a harness from a wreck somewhere..

For a start, stock injectors are 440cc. If you put 650cc injectors in there you will have it running pig rich, if it runs at all. You need a programmable ecu to accomodate the larger injectors. If you tune the ecu for the injectors, it shouldn't use any more fuel for the same amount of power, just that the duty cycle will be lower, ie open less.
-
You can get it working, but you will have to relocate a few of the wires. I went through this with my 89 gts4 with a later gtr dash, same bucket.

mind if I ask, why do you need to replace the loom?

Help - Steering Feels Overly Stiff On Gtr
heller44 replied to Got Boost?'s topic in General Maintenance
One quick thing to check, IF the 34 is the same as 32 & 33, the hicas module and power steering module are combined, check that it still has power and the alarm install hasn't screwed with it in any way. Can't help on the diagnostic side but you could try the r33 hicas diagnostic and see if that works. -
Power Increase Up Where I Can't Use It After Safc2 Tune?
heller44 replied to shajar's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
dyno runs are usually done in the gear that is closest to 1:1, in a 5-speed that is usally 4th. what I meant was that if you were doing anything other than putting about, you wouldn't use the part of the rev range that the power is lower at. does the engine feel smoother in this part of the rev range or did the tuner offer some reason for this? -
Power Increase Up Where I Can't Use It After Safc2 Tune?
heller44 replied to shajar's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
use a gear shorter than 4th. there's usually about 3 before it, unless something weird is going on.. hope that was helpful. -
I had new 235/45/17's on the front and old 235/45/17's on the back and attessa was having a fit trying to handle it. torque surging very noticeable at 80+km/h.

We apologise for any inconvenience. Updated by Tom on 2-Oct-2007 at 11:31am Thankyou, your payment has been received, we are now processing your order. You will be issued with your EMS tracking number, just before the parts are sent. EMS tracking is only activated once the parts are in the air, therefore it is confusing and causes unnecessary concern should the EMS number be issued earlier. Updated by Tom on 29-Sep-2007 at 10:16am Your order has been confirmed and a shipment estimate provided. Your payment is required to continue processing of the order. The provided shipment estimate is valid for 2 working days after order confirmation. I wonder when the rest will turn up.

hope this helps you out. When you pull the fuse in the engine bay, what you are doing is removing the power feed to the attessa actuator itself, the motor. The abs/attessa computer still has power and will still try to operate, but will fault on 4wd. If you get torque on the gauge and effort from the front wheels...., the possibly someone has arsed with your wiring. james.

Did the same, same is happening.. nice.

Had this stored away. Hope it helps.

Rolling Diameters And Attessa System
heller44 replied to CeJay's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Simillar here, 235/45/17's new on front, old on back. Surging torque gauge and seat of pants at >80kph, swapped and all good. -
Might want to think about the intake side.. If you are going to swap turbos for aftermarket, you will be wanting to do something about programmable engine management. If you go for a map based unit you can piss off the afm's and you can use a different intake setup, neater. If you use rb20/25 or z32 afm's same thing. Lot of if's there but just another thing to look at. I'd still be trying to work out whats bung before planning for new bits..

Power Fc And Nismo Afm Price Drop
heller44 replied to GTR 94's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Unless he has a second set, those sold and are sitting next to me here. -
Considering the age of the connectors, the age of the wiring, and the heat it is all subjected to, sort of makes the cost of a new loom a good idea..
-
nope. edit: if the gauge isn't accurate you're porked anyways. Had an autogauge branded unit with 'stepper motor drive' that was reading a little bit odd.. boost was about 4psi with the motor not running. Only about 2 months after I had installed it. Was definately meter, not sender. Mechanical el apexi has been in there since I deep sixed the other.

Gtr And Gts4 Suspension
heller44 replied to krush's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Make sure that the rear shock lower mount is the ame as what you have. I've heard of gts4's with gtst style rear shock mounts... haven't seen evidence though.. I am in the act of taking a set of gtr suspension out of mine. Seemed ok for a daily, not rough or anything. Threw on a set of kings lows springs, don't match well with the gtr shock rate, will bottom out easily and not control the bound / rebound very well (on the fronts, the backs don't have any damping left at all, just bounce). Going for koni adjustables as I quite like the spring height and rate. Also doing adjustable castor bushes, both front tie rod ends, and pineapples. Should be lots nicer to drive. james. -
R32 Gtr Lumpy Idle Help Needed Please!
heller44 replied to Japtastic-UK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Are you sure about that trav? Looks like it feeds air from the bov's back in just before the turbos, in the last bit of piping before the compressor, making it metered air. If a bov is leaking with the system under vacuum (idle) it would be pulling in un-metered air. Would this be giving the symptom that he has? I'd try blocking the hose he's marked in green as the way to eliminate that though. (as Adriano pointed out earlier) james.
