  1. Damn! I'd have to say that is the ultimate street car/ week end track racer. Wish i had 100K to blow on a car
  2. What is the base tune on the pfc like? Is it the same as a standard ecu for that model, possibly a little richer because they expect you to be running more boost?
  3. My car did the same thing at the start of the year, tore the housing apart and made a huge mess. Damn it was noisy, about 5-6000rpm under acceleration and crunch as it let go and ricocheted around the engine bay! Fan, clutch, rad, shroud, w/pump pulley all trashed; radiator just touched the condensor but didnt break it. When i pulley what was left on the fan out of the engine bay, i realised i could turn the nuts that held the fan to the w/p by hand! So my theory is when my car was worked on 20-30kms prior, the nuts were left loose; there would be quite an imbalance at 6-7K rpm and the casing fatigues and breaks under the stress. So i feel for you mate, i know what it like I nearly fell over when i quoted th parts at Nissan ($1600 plus) but sourced some used and diffent parts and got away with spending about $550
  4. That thing is damn ugly! The body shape looks like it been taken straight from BMW 3 series, and the rear end has a slight resemblance to Mazda (like alot of cars on the market atm) And that interior is downright disgusting
  5. My car used to push the dipstick up on occassion, but it turned ot the rubber corrugations on the seal at the top of the dipstick were worn smooth. So i bought a new one from Nissan and it hasnt happened since. The dipstick used to pull out too easily, but the new one has a nice firm fit. For street use, as long as your not on or near the limiter alot, you dont need coolers or catch cans.
  6. 1996 Series 2 GT-R VSpec Stock engine and turbos Apexi catback exhaust Blitz pod filters Boost restrictor take out = 14psi 195.5kW at all fours (i think it hit the 180 limiter and cut out,not at max rpm, stock power shouldnt be on the climb at 8000rpm) Still has the factory R33 computer which is leaning out at this boost level and no tune...
  7. Awesome day, had a blast. Thanks to the guys at RE Customs for hosting the day, and kudos to the guys and gals from SAU Vic that organised another great event.
  8. Hughsy makes me want to lose it! so i stopped listening a few month ago, and kate does nothing for me either. Achmal (spelling) on the other hand is a pisser, and the only reason i listen to Nova at all. Another Cager in the morning here
  9. Looked like an awesome event, great photos! will have to mark time off in next years calender for this one! Havent been to the track for a few years, watching it on the tv just isnt the same.....
  10. Awesome rims there mate, damn they're wide! With all that rubber under your car you better make sure you dont break your gearbox, thats alot of grip! Gotta love the dark GT-R's with bronze rims
  11. When i went to Heathcote, my best time of the day on my stock GTR (R33) was when i changed gears earlier, i crossed the line in 4th gear. I shifted at about or just under 7K and got a 13.2 @ 106. I had a 1.9 60ft aswell, the track seemed really slick compared to the street and she was just spinning all fours, ended up launching at about 4800-5000rpm. On the street it does need 6K plus or else it will bog down (twin plate takes up all the slack instantly).
  12. I'll come along for this one sounds like fun. Defintely be running my car on the rollers, keen to see what it's got.
  13. I was lovin' the tight twisty stuff, it seems as if that what GT-R's are built for..... those Evo's are a pretty handy piece of gear too.... When the traffic got a bit too much i just backed well off, made my own space, then rejoined the group. Was great fun Thanks to everyone who organised this one, had an awesome time and looking forward to seeing you all again. I'll try and make it to the meetings from now on, lets see some of the video footage at the next meeting eh!
  14. LOL, thanks Jason... now i just need to get me some external gate action and 300+ rwkw and i might be able to keep up with you! That thing sound tuff when boostin hard, could hear you plant it when you were 50 metres behind me
  15. Here's a couple of happy snaps of the the collective group of cars... And of course one of the scenery that some people go down the GOR to see, not just for the thrill of driving on those windy roads
  16. Top cruise guys, loved every minute of it! And to think i was contemplating on being a passenger and not taking mine. That corner was fun, i'd like to see it again in a slow mo action replay or something...... Damn mate, your R33 was suprising me too... filled my mirrors while i was trying to get away! Thanks for the commment guys, i appreciate it. Oh and for those that asked its fairly standard, exhaust, boost restrictor removed.... and a nice ratly twin plate clutch
  17. Any developments there Wayne? Have you found out what its gonna take to get back on the road?
  18. Another one here for a whole lot of characters appearing when clicking on an image. Also noticed when i first logged in today this site wanted to install an Active X control, some Microsoft Data something or other. I didnt install it as i didnt see a notice to say that it was okay to run on the bulletin board. Some of the fonts are showing up larger than they usually do aswell Are these related?
  19. Hasnt anyone fitted one of these themselves on a GT-R, heaps of people seem to have them?
  20. The reason i ask is that the instructions show you should run their hose to the actuators. But as you can imagine they are a biatch to get to. Can you just put the in and out (yellow and red ringed hoses) from the standard actuator, chuck the blitz one on and woila! Then of course the wiring, yada yada ...... Will this compromise the performance, work perfectly, or not work at all because the hoses go to differnt places? If all this doesnt work, does anyone know where i can find a decent diy, or pics with the routing of the hoses clearly seen ...... i find the included instructions very vauge.
  21. LOL! I'm heading down this path soon..... Though i reckon i'll follow steps 1-3, then 13. Then of course #15, and cringe upon seeing the bill! Oh well..... the price we pay in the pursuit of performance
  22. As per the title, i'm after a standard exhaust and airbox for my R33 GT-R VSpec If anyone has one sitting in their shed or is about to take one off their car, please let me know. Cheers Shane
