I've heard a few people on here say they have used the Carrillo H and I beams.
Cant remember who or in what motor though.
But Carrillo didnt get their reputation for quality for no reason.
I wouldve loved to see the EGT's with the timing lock set, wouldve been nice an toasty.
LOL @ 6000rpm and +ve pressure, untuned and with a timing lock on.
My advise is when you sell the RB20, ditch the Microguess and Get Nistune, you wont regret it
Was the guys R31 local or an Import?
Local ones has a Live rear end the same as a VL commodore, so the Shafts are different.

Yes, providing everying is a-ok, rings, bearings, and say oil pump, new gaskets etc would come in just under 5k including labor and fitting etc.
If you need new pistons or re-bore etc it will will be more.
WOT is WOT, the power will still drop off no matter what gear it is in.
Youre right in saying you might not notice it as much in 1st gear, but it still happens.
