  1. a great solution in drift pinapples. we use them to soften the transition from grip to drift. they effectively also eliminate tramp as a byproduct. (if you dont know what i mean by drift pinapples, i mean solid mounting your rear cradle)
  2. i'd get a R32 GTR with the numberplates f*kRTA
  3. i was like 72500 or something
  4. i figure its an RB20 1 down, 50 000 to go. PS it was in my new 4 door R32 that i picked up on thursday, and proceeded to blow up on thursday night whilst participating in some "close road private testing" when i picked the car up, i noticed the factory oil pressure guage read 2 bar, and i thought it was innaccurate (sender was f**ked) turned out that it was reading correctly. PPS the rev limiter in this car is 8000 rpm
  5. info on the KKRs? They are cheaper than new turbos should be my buddy bolted one straight onto his motor with no mods and it pulls hard, it hasnt died (yet) it doesnt blow smoke (yet) yeah the wastegate design is questionable, but his doesnt spike more than 1 or 2 psi on 1 bar. which is acceptable considering he's using a bleeder valve. do those highflow turbos really make those numbers??? cos they are good numbers! and so cheap!
  6. i have seen them go for around $400 on the coast
  7. by the way location gold coast
  8. i've got one PM me with an offer
  9. just in defence of the KKR turbos, i think its amazing that they have actually built a china turbo to last more than 10 mins! furthermore, my friends RB25 powered laurel made 290hp at the wheels yesterday with the following modifications fresh RB25 stock stock injectors KKR 430 FMIC Exhaust Nismo FPR GTR pump Apex PFC Stock manifold
  10. thats pretty woeful they should all be within 3-5 psi of each other
  11. this is where the rod exited the motor
  12. my RB20 let go recently it actually split the block off on the inlet side corner... like when i unbolted the sump, a corner of the block fell off. also when i took the sump off, there was NO ROD at all and only about a quarter of a piston left!!! here is the 1st photo... NO LOVE FOR RB20s (note i have not removed the rod from number 6 crank journal, it is simply absent
  13. can we drift there? i drifted on the driver training track about 4 years ago and we're all keen to get onto the raceway!
  14. i have driven a cefiro that sported a HKS built RB24 and i am pleased to report that these motors are infinately more torquey than a stock RB25. This is in my opinion, largely to do with the small port/valve size creating high intake velocity. The motor was noticably bad about 6000 where it trailed off in power. Building a 2.4 would be great fun, but how easy is it to find good, cheap virgin rb26 cranks?
  15. its crazy man i posted my DR30 on here and got no interest whatsoever! and that was a purist skyline
  16. why does high horsepower cause oil pump failure?
  17. only under boost? if your boost controller is an old school Blitz SBC, they tick...
  18. Matt Spry from PITS location Ernest, Gold Coast Charlies Motors, brisbane
  19. Hot sauce mate I know this car personally. You'll enjoy it
  20. mind you it comes down to the history of the motor, my 2nd 20 was revving to 8000 rpm which is massive for a nissan motor. my RB25 will probably fall over at 6000 with the tiny RB20 turbo on it!
  21. i think old matey who started this thread was actually going to be doing internals? unless i read wrong... I understand your point of view, but i have killed 2 RB20s with only a little drifting and i consider them weak. lets agree to disagree
  22. cheers mafia i realise the RB20 turbine will be too early, but i ate into my savings just to buy the 25 so i think it will have to do for now, even to just get it back on the road. i have a guy who is sending me some turbo injectors and my buddy from the coast here just installed a PFC on his 25 powered laurel so i have the ecu from that... as for the turbine, i will prob hunt around yahoo auctions and see if i can pick up a 25/30 HKS branded turbo, but all down the track... thanks for your advice guys...
  23. when anthony says no PMS will be replied to, he means it... give him a call
  24. i know this probably sux to hear, but i just bought a similar car in qld for $9k
  25. because the rb20 has the weakest rods of the RB generation.. and the RB25DE is internally the same as the 25DET (save for the high comp pistons and oil squirters) Do you understand that a turbocharger is just an artificial way of raising the compression of an engine? 10:1 compression on an RB25DE needs less boost to make the same power. eg 1 bar boost on a factory turbo engine with 8:1 compression is effectively a 16:1 CR engine whereas 0.6 bar boost on a 10:1 CR engine is effectively also 16:1 CR another reason for choosing the RB25 is purely for displacement, as a 2.5 litre needs less boost and revs to make the same power as a 2.0 litre
