  1. If you have done a change since the run in oil whats the pressure like in yours now?
  2. Its an autometer mechanical gauge which is identical to what's in my own car. I might try another gauge just so that can be eliminated
  3. The oil is a Penrite running in 20/50. Going to run a 10w in it once its got a few km's on it and is ready for synthetic though. Might just see what the pressure is like with the proper oil and normal running temperature. I can't see any reason why it would be higher than a normal RB25 as everything is identical besides the lack of oil squirters under the pistons Just got the car running with the RB20 tune which was in it previously so can't really take advantage of the vct just yet. Will most likely wire it up though. From what I understand it just needs to be activated with an rpm triggered relay?
  4. Got a mate's new 25/30 running today but the oil pressure seems to be a lot higher than it should. Was over 100psi at cold idle. It's currently got running in oil in the engine and has 2 x1.5mm oil restrictors to the head and I'm 99% certain a RB25 oil pump. The vct has an external feed to it but isn't wired up. I'm running a 25 pump on my RB30 and its only got around 60psi at cold idle. Is there any logical reason why it would be running such high pressure? Also the vct feed is a -4 line. Does it need a restrictor in it at all or will it not matter as we most likely won't be wiring it up so the oil will just drain back to the sump
  5. I've read on a few ecu forums about people having issues trying to get the ls2 truck coils to fire on cranking. There's something to do with the "smart" part of them causing issues with the dwell at low rpm. Has anyone else heard of this? I'm currently running ls2 car coils on my car and never had a single issue but always curious about the truck version
  6. After a complete RB25 turbo neo head for a 25/30 conversion PM or Ph. 0409 958 227
  7. I'd just drill it out and tap it to 1/4 bspt and install a 1/8 - 1/4 reducer fitting
  8. After a RB25 neo head with cams, covers and cas for a 25/30 conversion. Prefer one off a turbo head to save chasing cams PM or Ph. 0409 958 227
  9. After a RB25 neo head with cams, covers and cas for a 25/30 conversion PM or Ph. 0409 958 227
  10. He's away snowboarding in Japan at the moment
  11. I'd get the injectors flow tested. The injector might be a bit leaky and pouring excess fuel in
  12. Currently using the factory cas with the sync wire hooked up on the trigger pin and a single slot in the chopper disc. I've bought another GT101 sensor though which I'm going to trigger with a stud off the cam. Engine is a RB30 running 6 LS2 coils but you would be able to do the same thing with a twin cam head off the exhaust cam
  13. Very basic set up I did for my RB30. 3 slots in the balancer @ 120deg intervals (works out to 1 tooth per cylinder) and a Honeywell GT101 sensor. Have not had a single issue with it and cost me about $60 for the sensor
  14. Snapped this last week near home. First lightning shot I've taken which has turned out semi ok
  15. Works out to 1 tooth per cylinder as 2 crank revolutions equal 1 cam revolution
  16. Can anyone confirm whether there is any issue using a turbo with a ceramic exhaust wheel such as a RB25 item on a diesel? I seem to recall there being a reason that you can't
  17. Would a RB25 flywheel be any good to you? 99% certain they are the same size
  18. How would a 6262, 6266 and 6466 compare to a GTX35 with 1.06 rear for spool time? I previously had a T04Z with a .96 rear and wasn't overly impressed with it
  19. Pretty sure I've got a pair sitting here somewhere
  20. Haven't touched it since. I did try a good meguires polish on it before starting this thread and it made very little difference. Is the resin buffed at all when the bonnets are manufactured or is the finish as it is when it cures?
  21. I can define when it starts injecting and what rate it ramps up with idc. It can flow 900cc's at 20% idc if I want it to. Their recomendation is 15-20% water meth to fuel so obviously at a lower idc its putting less fuel in which means less water/meth is used. Out of the box its set to come on at 44% idc which is 10psi on my set up with a rate of 1:1
  22. Is your system on straight water or water/meth Darren? I've just got my aquamist up and running and using their jet calculator I've ended up with about 900cc of maximum flow with my 750cc injectors @ 95% idc. I'm running a 50/50 water meth mix. Obviously it won't be using all that flow as its based off idc. I'm keen to see some good results from it
  23. Thats a very interesting thing with the blue gates belts. I had terrible timing jitter with my RB30, even at low rpm and after reading that the belt was probably a big contributing factor. I guess a reasonable size cam would make it worse also. Ended up going with a basic crank trigger set up and its been perfect ever since. $60 home made crank trigger using a GT101 sensor and 3 slots in the balancer
  24. Just wondering if there is there such a thing as a product to revive dull/faded spots on carbon fibre? Its gone a bit shitty from being left out in the sun. Or would a wet sand, buff and light cut be sufficient?
  25. R5671a-7. Perfect for an engine with a bit of boost in it
