Here's some nice juicy pics that I took on the day...... Enjoy!

Its pretty cramped under the front of an R31, I have been told by a few owners that the biggest you can get on the front are 7"s but Im not sure, I plan to do a bit more research on it when it comes to getting wheels. I want it to be more of a "track" set up than just drag, I wanna go round corners quick too... But the suspension will be upgraded a bit further down the track as I can only get a certain amount of money for now. What AboBob said Shawn... If you spend the $1750 that GCG quoted me for a ball bearing high flow, thats all you spend... If you buy an after market turbine of around the same size there are things (like the maniflold) that you have to change, so the price adds up, and right now Im not looking to make the car stupidly powerful as it is still my daily driver.

How bout an SAU ACT business thread?
Bullet32 replied to Veilside R33's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I dunno if I have already posted this but I will now anyway... I now work at Ingrams Automotive Electronics and air cond. wholesalers, so if you need anything to do with car electrics, let me know and I will see if I can get a really good price for you, we have just about everything you might need. -
That was me! Some fella came up and asked what kind of clutch I was using and how good the pedal feel was, so I said 'Jump in and feel for yourself"... Im just your friendly neighbourhood R31 owner
-
I spose I have probably jumped the gun a little, I really appreciate the effort that you guys put in... Its just that 31's always seem to get overlooked and this time I was really hoping that wouldnt happen. My appologies if I offended anyone (especially the organisers) I wasnt trying to start trouble... Like I said, I had an awesome day and I will be going up again next year. No hard feelings I hope?

Yes, by my own admission, I will need wider wheels and tyres Mark, thats why when all of the mechanical work is done I will put the mags I have up for sale, then ill take a trip to Sydney to get a nice new set of 18x7's on the front and with a little luck 18x9's on the rear... Thanks Leigh, I never knew that you actually do appreciate 31's! Ill have a look into those injectors Nik, thanks, I am already running a Bosch 040 in the tank - I put it in for the 1st stage cos the RB30E pump doesnt flow enough for the RB25DET, I might need a fuel pressure reg though... I am going to use a custom plenum simply because I already have it, I got one along with mandrel plumbing and BOV for only $400 2 weeks ago. Mabye ill run the engine abit rich to start with until I get an Injector controller (or programable ecu). Gentleman Jim's Gibson race car --- Yummmmmmm that 31 was Horny!

Thats right folks, R31DET (the R31 you all know and love) is undergoing its 2nd stage of transformation! The 1st stage being the R33 RB25DET and R33 Gearbox transplant, a few bolt on goodies such as exhaust (3"mandrel) and boost bleed valve etc... But now, the finance is in the pipeline and there is a better than good chance that R31DET will recieve the following fruitful upgrades!>>>> (All input and thoughts welcome)>>>> Step 1. Custom plenum with front mounted throttle (for less FMIC plumbing for better boost response and less lag). Step 2. Custom 2.5" and 3" FMIC plumbing with Turbosmart Supersonic BOV (for that much loved high pressure gas release sound). Step 3. Standard huffer sent to G.C.G Turbo's for ball bearing highflow (for that extra kick at somewhere around 4000rpm when boost hits 16psi). Step 4. GTR injectors or bigger (for that extra juice to help avoid nasty detonation at high rpm). Step 5. Differential rebuild with strengthened internals to suit 300 Rwkw (for that piece of mind when you dump the clutch in the boost range). Step 6. Hr31 import front struts and R32GTR front discs and calipers (for that little thing called stopping power needed when you make extra go). Step 7,8 and 9 tuning, tuning and more tuning to try and get as much power out of the standard (piggyback chipped) ecu as possible... (I cant afford a PowerFC yet).... Im hoping for 220 Rwkw in the next few months, the money looks good and hopefully all systems are go very soon (fingers crossed)! Whaddayareckonhuh?

I have to say that I am a bit annoyed by the NSW show n shine thread... There are alot of pictures posted of many skyline models but alot have been overlooked... If you want to see what I am on about read me post on page 8 of "show n shine wrap up thread" in the NSW section.

I would like to say a big thanks from the ACT guys to all the organisers of the event, I had a great time. One thing I have noticed though is that in this thread I have counted only 3 pictures of R31's (one posted by the owner of car) and NONE of DR30's and I think only 2 of KPGC10's, however there seem to be plenty of 32, 33 and 34 pictures here... Are R31's or older just not considered cool enough anymore??? Has everyone forgotten thier Skyline roots? I know I have a bias opinion but it seems to me that the older (original) Skylines only get over looked these days, I believe there is even a post by someone here outlining the winners of each category (on page 1,2 or 3) but the "Best R31 category" is completly left out........ I drove for 5 hours from the ACT just to be at this event and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I absolutly love every model of Skyline and Nissan alike, but when I see things like this I start to wonder why I put in the effort. Once again, thankyou to all of the organisers and competitors, I had a great day... Congratulations to all of the winners (even the best R31 and Classic Skylines). I will definatly be there next year.

Damn... My car looks really high from that view, mabye its just cos both Luke's and Jayce's are close to only 10cm off the ground!... Well I have to agree with Jayce - All the people that werent there... you should have been, if my car could make the trip with a buggered waste gate and a clunky diff then there is NO excuse for th rest of you! I have never seen soooo many Horn worthy cars in the one place before (and I have been to the Sydney motor show when the Ferrari Enzo was there)... DAMN!! is all I can say, Jayce was unfortunate not to take out the best R32GTR title, if only that bloody Trial kitted 32GTR with the high mount HKS T51R SPL didnt get it! And Luke was the luckiest pr*ck I know, he won the 1st prize in the raffle 5 minutes after buying 2 tickets to win a skid pan day with sydney motorsports training group (to quote Jayce - "Like he needs it!") and if I do say so myself I would have come close to getting best R31 (I was the only one there with and RB25DET) although I was out done by a silhouette GTS so no hard feelings there... All in all a really really great weekend (even though it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!). I would have to send a great big thanks to all the organisers and AboBob especially for accepting my money order! It was well worth the 5 hour trip there and back... Also, thanks heaps Jayce, Erica and Luke for making the trip so much better (would have been hell doing it on our own)... As for the rest of you... WHERE IS THE PRIDE IN YOU LOCAL SKYLINE CLUB HUH?!?! YOUD BETTER BE UP THERE NEXT YEAR OR ELSE!!!!

Spotted Nik, around 7:30 tonight getting right into his 32 passing a BA Falcon very quickly in a form one lane on Erindale drive!.... Speeding is a crime Nik! :innocent: But damn that car sounds good at full noise!

What an overwhelming response to the venue request... If we cant get anywhere for Friday night then it will have to wait till next week... C'MON GUYS!!
-
You stooge Luke... But like "shnrub" said, we will be there... With bells (and radio's) on! 4 1/2 hour drive WOOHOO!!! (sarcasm), my ass will never forgive me!
-
Well all that matters is that I like it... You Schmuck! (and that the chicks dig it)
-
its funny that this thread was about a haircut but then it turned into a thread about a GTR Its also funny that its about a haircut, cos I just cut my own hair and it looks really funky! You'll all see what Im on about on Friday... Hehehehe
-
At long last?... There is a reason for the delay and its due to unforseen events out of our control... So we apollogise, but we have busted our butts and argued ourselves blue in the face to get it done and now it is ready. Next time we will get the crystal ball out before hand, mabye then everyone will be happy.

We just watched the final draft and Im very happy with the editing side of it but we still need to fix up some of the titles... When thats done it will be perfect, still on for Friday though! You'll get a DVD Camma dont worry, we've got heaps of DVD-R's... Mark will come up with a "round about" price just to cover materials and stuff. Wont you Mark.

Luke and I have entered and are heading up on Saturday, I was hoping to leave around 10am just so that we have some time to get settled when we hit the hotel (alcohol will play a big part in that)... It would be really cool to go up in a group but as Jayce said, too much attention isnt good, but it will prbably be ok if no one does anything stupid and all cars are legal.
-
We did some more editing of the vid on Thursday, it now has a cool soundtrack, every car has a different song (suited to the car's sorta theme), should be finished sometime next week if we really get into it... Im very happy with how good it is turning out. Just thought I would build more of the tension... Or excitment.

I apologise to all for opening my mouth that wide when it had halfed chewed pizza in it! I think my breath stank too, look at Marks face, he got high of my breath fumes!

Spotted Jayce today on his moto (nice looking bike) and after him and Erica spotting me and honking to get my attention in the EXACT same place on Tuesday, this is getting wierd... Jayce are you stalking me, or is it the other way round????
