  1. About to install some brand new strut braces in my r32, front and rear ones. Just wondering if i have to retighten the nuts (am i supposed to get new nuts too?) to a certain torque?
  2. so yer, got some generic braces for cheap for my r32. Thing is the first owner obviously got he all boot carpet option, and the boot is still super tidy. Just wondering if anyone has tips for cutting up a carpeted boot neatly so it still looks nice Cheers
  3. i thought i read that attessa will kick in when the backend starts to kick out, then torque (amount depending on how much lateral g's there is, amount of loss of traction, etc) is delivered to the front wheels to "drag" the car around the corner...time for some dorifto
  4. k just got it back from midas, turns out the master cylinder needed overhauling. they stuck a new stainless steel sleeve in, and flushed the brake fluid. so far its rock solid
  5. Hi all, Last few weeks ive noticed mybrake pedal feeling squidgy. The odd thing is that its a random squidgyness, sometimes the pedal comes on early and hard, sometimes i go nearly all the way to the floor before i feel the brakes biting. Doesnt matter if im idle, going slowly, or fast its all very random. I would say its a bit of a hazard now. When slowing down theres no pull to either side, so i think the disc's have even wear. I'm thinking its prob a master/slave cylinder problem. Anyway im booked in this Sat at midas brakes at Moorooka for an inspection but I'm wondering if you guys have any tips about what to look for/ask/expect with these kind of symptoms. Havnt pulled the wheels off yet to look at the pads, been busy at work, and by the time i get home its really dark and cold Feel free to discuss
  6. ok lucien, chris got back to me and said it is compatible so happy days are here! ill go the $110 "instant". pm me for payment details
  7. yer was just wondering if its like a industry standard interface for alarm->turbo timer...this is all new territory for me
  8. hey lucien, just wondering if you know if this is compatible with the mongoose m80g alarm? apparently in the feature list it says turbo timer interface software.... i know its a long shot, but i gotta ask p.s. i tried ring chris from soundoff who did my alarm install, but hes not answering (hehe why would ya on a sunday arvo..) so i shot off an email, not sure if he will get back in time though
  9. jeebus, you guys got fairly decent first cars...my first was manual 76 VW passat. fwd and dodgy gearbox! actually it was prob a good thing i had that car, actually handled ok cause it was so light and had very little power.
  10. bought 5 months ago, 1990 r32 gtst type-m, manual, all electrics, electric sunroof, in mint condition except for scratches on passenger and drivers windows, no rust at all, stock except for 3" catback exhaust, slightly lowered, had 100K's on the odo for $13,500 with 3 months rego left. just had to get a car!
  11. i get tht click whizz noise too, on cold mornings i notice my hicas light will flicker on off for a second or too (before i kick over the engine). So i guess its either the power steering pump repressuring or something along the hicas lines.
  12. anyone know how much a new window would cost? and does a new window include replacement pads?
  13. usually let it idle for 2 mins then baby it for first 5 mins of driving
  14. yep thats right, i got mine installed by "the soundoff guy" (sorry mr soundoff, i forgot your name :S ) and he said i needed an actuator in the drivers door too
  15. gratz man. look after it and it will look after you time to update your avatar too as well
  16. loud ticking from engine may only be the injecters running
  17. yer me too, both my windows are scratched, and the passenger door rattles too. anyone managed to source those pads at all?
  18. fark, thats good to hear. got my line nearly 3 months ago and only done about 2000k's
  19. well, if u had no oil pressure at all, and u drove it for a little while, ur engine would seize up. im guessing you have driven it a bit while the guage has been playing silly buggers? i wouldnt worry too much unless you are hearing weird engine noises or getting a red warning light on the oil guage edit: btw just reread and u said it sits just above zero. could be because ur using a pretty thin oil, but ive read of a few instances where this has happened. those people didnt seem to have a real oil pressure problem
  20. actually theres quite a lot of threads about oil pressure issues with skylines. mine does it too, im using 10w-40 motul turbolight and sometimes my oil pressure guage just reads 0!!! apparently the pressure senders go dodgy after a while and doesnt read properly. so from what ive been told is only worry if the red warning light comes on
  21. actually mine had the rotary switch problem too. the plastic riser had been melted (prob some high current), so we just replaced it with a chopped off screw. works sweet now
  22. afm is a good bet, when its unplugged, max rpm is 2500. check the element and plugs. if it looks ok and you have cleaned it up, it could be the circuit board inside. usesearch and you shall find answers
