Am trying to source a set of Series II headlights for compliance. Does anyone have a set for sale, or know of any one who may have a set. My searching of Yahoo.jp seems only to show Exon units. All assistance greatly appreciated.

Funny about all these damaged STAGEA's. Mine bit the dust on 5/12/06 and the insurance company has just returned it to me. I have attached a single photo, and will be taking more shortly. I am undecided at present but my preference would be to sell as a complete unit instead of stripping/packing and posting bits everywhere. I suppose if any body has an interest they can pm me.

You have seven different opinions on this post. you will get seven different opinions from seven different solicitors, and ultimately seven different legal outcomes. the result - which ever of the seven lawyers you select he will be the ultimate winner as you WILL pay. Unfortunately these types of events do occur in the motor industry and "proof" is an extremely difficult fellow to grab by the tail. Unfortunately this response is of absolutely no benefit to you in trying to ascertain which course of action you should take.

My Series II was complied with 225/50R16's. I had fitted Speedy Envy Mk II 18X8 wheels which have a 38 pos offset. The wheels were fitted with 235/40R18 Goodyear Eagle REVSPEC RS-02 tyres. Even with SK Group Buy on suspension I had no rubbing or other issues. your rolling diameters (for comparison) are: 225/50R16 - 631mm, 225/45R17 - 634mm - 3mm o'size, 235/45R17 - 643mm - 12mm o'size, 235/40R18 - 645mm - 14mm o'size, and 245/35R18 - 629mm - 2mm undersize. In the ACT you can legally fit a wheel/tyre combination to your vehicle as long as it is not over/under size by 15mm. As can be seen with the above combinations - they are all legal. Why fit a 245/35R18 tyre? This is not a common tyre and would cost nearly twice as much as the far more common 235/40R18 fitment! My Speedy wheels may well be for sale - if inteested pm me.

Check your seats. If there is a passenger in one of the seats and the noise can still be heard - it may be the passenger saying 'woo woo' WOW!, these stageas are great. On a more serious note, some tread patterns will generate weird noises when fitted to certain cars. The noise can range thru' the spectrum right up to a rumble similar to the noise heard from 'nobbly' off-road tyres.

If you are in no hurry, I can look into it when I return to Belconnen. Currently at Gungahlin until months end.

1999 Series 2, triptronic in Pearl White. CES Split dump, 3" exhaust passing thru' 4" cat. 18" Speedy Envy MkII wheels, stereo upgrade, SK suspension upgrade and an office with numerous bits to be 'attached'.

If you have the in-car Nokia kit and just transferring to another vehicle, then installation is the only cost. I have a new phone now and the Nokia instal is obsolete - just have not had the time to remove.

You want Nokia - you have Nokia. On removal a few little screw holes on the side will be damned difficult to spot.

It was a little lower, but I have raised it - am a little shy of 'gutter rash'.

A couple of pics

I have found a set of brake pads which, with a small amount of grinding, should seat very nicely in the front calipers. As can be seen in the first image, the pad is fractionally too long but by machining the tang and lower shoulder back 3mm @ both ends it should seat correctly. The pad (brand 'X') is common, and you should be able to source it from just about anywhere in varying degrees of quality. The rotor is in fact a DB4963. SK has previously identified this rotor as the one to use with a small amount of machining (6mm) from the diameter. A trial fitment today showed the rotor did fit, with caliper in position and no machining was done. However it is a close fit and until testing has been completed no comment or recommendations can or will be made. (SK if you are reading this - machining may still be required). The only issue noted to date is that the DB4963 does sit in a little further than the original rotor and may foul on the caliper. There is only about 3.5mm difference between the two caliper dimensions. Once the pad modification has been completed and fitted I will review the rotor/caliper clearance. I would like to have this completed before end of month. If not, then end of financial year stocktakes, accounts etc will take priiority. As soon as any further developments have been made I will post it up.

Series II front brake pad and rotor replacement under investigation as I type (2 fingers). Will hopefully have some initial info, with photos later tonight. Now do not go getting all excited this info is preliminary as I still have a little bit more to do before final set up and testing is completed.
