    Tyre Size

Horses for courses. Tyres are a personal choice, some people are brand concious, others price concious. All the major manufacturers have some good tyres in their range. Your F1 GS-D3 is available in the 225/50R17,, but I have no listing for a 245/45R17. But I could recommend the 245/45R17 in the Toyo T1R for example. I personally run a Goodyear Rev Spec RS02 (235/40R18) on my Series II Stagea, and will be trialling the new Dunlop Sport Maxx on another vehicle shortly. I have had some very strong feedback from customers on this new tyre. Wait until you know exactly what tyre size has been complied for the car and then look at the available options in that size.

    Tyre Size

The bible (TRAA) identifies 'Y' speed rating @ 300km/h. Whoever complies the car and attaches the tyre placard have a responsibilty to ensure the correct tyre is identified with respect to rolling diameter, speed rating and load rating. Do not be too concerned about your speed rating, the load rating is the more critical. For example the 245/45R17 F1 GS-D3 is a 94Y. That is the tyre has a load capacity of 670kg @ a max of 300km/h.

    Tyre Size

Your tyre placard (fitted when complied) should identify the correct tyre size. The 225/50R17 and the 245/45R17 are within 5mm of each other in diameter. Also rim width may determine which tyre is a legal fitment. Your 225's will range in price from $210 to over $400, and the 245's will range between $205 and $500.
  5. PM or talk to 8OO5TED - he has insured all three turboed cars of mine and was exceptionally helpful. If there is to be any issues with vehicles and/or age he WILL tell you what can and cannot be done. Strongly recommend the contact. At least you will know what can be done for your car and your insureance.
  6. The ST115 is now an obsolete tyre and will no longer be available when stocks have been sold. The replacement tyre is the new FK452.
  7. So you did buy it - well done. I foresee fights in the household as to who shall drive what.
  8. Wheel alignment equipment is computer driven. We always save customer vehicle data to hard drive and provide a copy to the customer. Even if the machine was turned off, a 'copy' can always be printed off at a later date. You have posted 2 wheel alignment prints, both done on the same day. Either 2 wheel alignments were done on the same day (29/3), or the Before figures were your original wheel alignment and show the date of print. Any way, note that the Before figures show that the operator set the wheel aligner for an R31 skyline, whereas the After figures were set for an R33. That is probably the reason why there are no rear figures shown in the right hand column (usually manufacturers recommended data).
  9. Does anyone know of a workshop in Canberra who has the experience and expertise to tune a car running a power FC? It is going into an AWD turbo Nissan - not the Stagea and not a Skyline. My understanding is the power FC will fit but does not come with base maps, so the need for experienced tuners. The level of expertise available will guide me in the decision to fit or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Chat Room

I'm there - [email protected] Just signed up, and never used a chat room before so if I but in on somebody please forgive me as I can only apologize in advance.
  11. Mmmmmm! Just looking at those tyres you are lucky to just get away with a fright. Maybe the rear camber needs attention before that manual g/box, otherwise your new tyres will be heading off down the same path.
  12. Leigh, More than happy to help out where and when I can. Enjoy your driving on those new tyres. Marc2
  13. As the topic says - I am looking for a set of standard front and rear springs for a Series 2 Stagea. I would like to borrow IF you do not wish to sell - all costs to and from ACT will be covered. If it is easier you can PM me.
  14. Yea, sorry about that - you are correct. Will try to get the correct VIN and repost. Marc2
  15. Hi Guys, It would be appreciated if somebody could please check the following VIN on FAST for me. 6T91MPAAAN1BAD007 Thanks in advance. Marc2
  16. I preferred a white car - the SII was available, therefore now that I have paid the money - it is SII. Then again there are some nice SI getting around. At the end of the day my passengers do not complain, I am sure they would be just as happy in a SI.

Definately was not me - or my car as I was in QLD.
  21. Yes, yes and yes. However, the 235/40R18 is far more common, therefore a wider choice in product availability and, they are generally cheaper.
  22. Sorry Leech, not me. Stuck in Belconnen all morning then @ Gungahlin 'till about 2.00pm.
  23. Thanks CAMMA. Happy to help members where I can.
