  1. Does anyone know of anywhere around Canberra where I can get the stitching on my steering wheel redone? There is a bit around the crossbar that is coming undone. Very annoying, and it's likely to get worse. Thanks James
  2. OK. more stuff on R32 GTR oxygen sensors. NTK part number OTD2F-P1L1 has a wire length of 435mm, a 12mm thread and a square connector with 3 pins connected. NTK part number OTD2F-P1P has a wire length of 455mm, a 12mm thread and a flat 3 pin type 18 connector. Neither is available in Australia yet, but NTK will order them in. Before they do, they want to know that the lengths are OK. Does anyone have a set of genuine GTR R32 ones they have removed and have lying around? If so, would you please let me know the full length of each, but not counting the sensor bit that goes into the dump pipe? Thanks James
  3. Sigh..... I dropped by Jaycar at lunchtime. They were really busy and after a long wait I found they no longer sell compatible speakers (or so the sales rep said). I went to Strathfield, and they managed to sell me a set of JBL gto6426e 4" x 6" oval speakers that screw straight in - no mods. They'll probably just be noise, but I figure I only want to do this once. Apologies for asking, then doing something else. I can see I'll have to get along to the Jerra pub on Tuesdays. It's about time I made the effort to meet some of you and check out these great cars I keep hearing about. Regards, James
  4. I got the idea from the audio thread that there were no direct replacements available. I'll check Jaycar out today or tomorrow. I'm still interested in good quality originals too. Cheers, James

  6. Hi. I took the trim off my doors on Sunday to find out why the sound was so poor (and why I was getting the scratches on the outside of the window). The speakers are stuft. All the foam surrounding the cone has gone. Has anyone done a speaker upgrade on their R32 and have a reasonable set of original front speakers left over? Thanks, James, Belconnen.
  7. When my 1989 R32 GTR gets to around 105 kph I get a gentle chime noise twice. It's sort of like a melodic dink-dink. Is this chime noise normal?
  8. According to the NTK site, the 1990 to 1995 Maxima VG30 has an Oxygen Sensor with a D2F sensor and an NTK type 18 flat 3 pin plug, so it should be a suitable replacement for the front R32 GTR sensor. It's about 250mm longer than the standard unit at 715mm but, IMHO, that's better than too short. Its part number is OTD2F-3G1. I'm told that NTK part number OTD2F-P1L1 has the correct sensor, is 435mm long and has the correct square plug for the rear R32 GTR sensor. There aren't any in Australia yet, but they're on order and should be here around October. See - all you have to do is ask the right people BTW, this **may** also be the same sensor that went into 1987-1989 300ZX Turbos (22690-21P1D?, 22690-21P11?). Has anyone on this site got Nissan FAST with part nos for the 300ZX? If those are the part nos and they use the OTD2F-P1L1, maybe 300ZX owners have identified compatible sensors from NTK, Bosch, ACA etc.
  9. www.justjap.com has a white one in their Cars In Stock section. Description: 1988 NISSAN MARCH K10 - $7,999 990CC, Supercharged/Turbo, FWD, Manual, 23,000 Km's, 6 months rego If anyone buys it, I bags a drive in it as a spotters fee!
  10. You might try some stuff called KoperKote - I might have the spelling wrong. It penetrates so well you can't keep it in the tube
  11. OK. I'm only interested in the R32 GTRs. However, according to NTK site the same sensor is used by the VL Non-Turbo and Turbo Dunnydoor, and the R31 Skyline. The NTK sensors for the R32 GTRs have D2F stamped on them. One sensor that has been used for GTRs is OTD2F-2B (right plug, right sensor, short cable). The O means Oxygen. The T means Tatania. The Falcon EA through EL uses a OZA23-D2 (iaw the site). The Z means Zirconia. So, IMHO, do not use the Falcon sensor for the R32 GTR, R31 or VL Dunnydore.
  12. I've been told that windscreen companies can clamp some sort of polisher onto the windows. Also, be really careful if you're replacing the pads. The little plastic clips get fragile with age. If anyone prices the pads or the clips, let me know. I've got the same problem There could be a real market for a group buy of pads by the sound of it. At least it will stop the scratches getting worse.
  13. Well, check this site: Lambda sensor shop and click on the Wire Colours 2 link. If they're right (please correct me if you know otherwise) a black/white/white sensor is Zirconia, and a red/black/white is Titania. They are incompatible, no matter how you connect the wires. The rest of the site is pretty good too.
  14. Lucien, I've been reading threads about O2 sensors over the last couple of weeks, and visited a lot of web sites. I've seen a lot of opinions and gathered a small number of facts - such as the actual Nissan part numbers. I figured it was no good just having them on my scribble pad, I may as well write them all down in the one spot to help others searching for the same facts. As to where I want to end up: I want to find sensors that are 100% compatible (correct type, colour of wiring, length and plug shape) with the front and back R32 GTR O2 sensors, and maybe some of the others models. I also want to clear up the issue of Titania and Zirconia sensors as fitting the wrong one will do no good at all. As I get more info I'll add it. BTW - if anyone finds an exact replacement part, let me know. Also, if anyone can tell me the markings on the sensors and the cable lengths of Nissan non R32 GTR sensors, I'd appreciate it. James
  15. OK. Here are some more numbers and facts. Please correct if necessary - and this is ONLY for the R32 GTR. The Nissan part number for the front O2 sensor is 22690-05U21 ($253.85 from Nissan) The Nissan part number for the rear O2 sensor is 22690-05U22 ($271.70 from Nissan). My front O2 sensor has a length of approx 56cm, and has a flat 3 pin plug with 3 used My rear O2 sensor has a length of approx 46cm, and has a square 4 pin plug with 3 used (Note that these lengths are different to the post above, but I estimated, the other guy measured) Both sensors have a black, a red and a white wire. That combination of wires appears to only happen with Titania based plugs. With Titania plugs: Black is Reference (Out) Red is Reference (In) and Heater (+) White is Heater (-) Output is 0 to 1 volts. Titania plugs are NOT compatible with Zirconia plugs (ie do not substitute a plug with 2 whites and a black). If you use the the NLMS Developments diagnostic cable, the front sensor is called O2 sensor, and the rear one is called O2 sensor RH. Ocean bought an NTK O2 sensor, part number OTD2F-2B, which only has a cable length of 28cm. Ocean says he used it as a direct replacement of the front sensor (right plug and right thread, only shorter), but the harness had to be untaped and moved a bit to take advantage of some slack, and it wasn't routed as neatly because the original was a lot longer. He didn't have an issue with the rear sensor (square plug) because he spliced the wires which made it longer. Has anyone managed to identify sensors with the right lengths and the plugs fitted?
  16. Sorry the format is so cruddy. Anyone know if I can use a table? HTML tags don't seem to do any good. Try cut and pasting it to an editor that recognises tabs. It's easier to read. Nissan Part numbers for front oxygen sensors (flat 3 pin plug) Part Number Engine Applicable dates ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22690-05U21 RB26DTT 8908-9108 RB26DETT 9108- 22690-17B00 RB20E 8905-9108 22690-01P00 RB20E 9108 - 22690-27M00 CA18I 8905- 22690-72L00 RB20D 8905-9108 RB20DE 9108- 22690-73L11 RB20DT 8905-9108 RB25DE 9108- RB20DET 9108- Nissan part number for rear oxygen sensor (square 4 pin plug) 22690-05U22 RB26DTT 8908-9108 RB26DETT 9108- A front oxygen sensor (probably original) from a RB26DTT had the following details: Approx 46cm from the gasket to the end of the plastic plug, NTK D2F printed on the sensor, 3483 stamped on the sensor nut A rear oxygen sensor (probably original) from a RB26DTT had the following details: Approx 50cm from the gasket to the end of the plastic plug, NTK D2F printed on the sensor, 35F8 (possible 35F3) stamped on the sensor nut The number stamped on the nut is probably a batch number.
  17. A guy at work had his battery go flat if he left it unused for a week. Turns out the company who put in his alarm didn't do the relay right.
  18. Whoever stole it is very likely to ditch the rego plates. How about posting the VIN number or any other relevant numbers? If people are offered an engine (or your car) for sale, they might search the net, or even this site, and match the numbers. I know how I'd feel in your situation.
  19. First suggestion - get one that has a separate button to arm the alarm, and a separate one to disarm it. Mine arms automatically after 40 secs and it's a pain to press the single button expecting it to arm, and it disarms.
  20. The suspension shop who tested my shocks pointed out that my Cradle Bushes were on the way out. Apparently they should be oil filled, and mine aren't They thought the replacements for an R32 GTR would be around $1500. Does that sound about right?
  21. Hi. Just looked at my Z32 AFMs and noticed they were both sealed with clear silicon (around the top of the box part). Is this normal?
  22. Maybe the stamped black number is a serial number....
  23. Hey, it works. Thanks. That's one down. That leaves the question about the two login fields. Only the left hand one worked for me on www.SkylineAustralia.com. Is the top one useful for anything?
