The knock reading can be misleading as ive seen many cars with high readings with no det at all.One GTS read a count of 93 no matter what you did, we even backed the CAS off asd far as it could go and retarded timing with the PFC with no change,even changing the knock sensors did nothing.Use the reading as a guide only but its no where near perfect so us other means as a back up if your not sure. A maximum power tune will give readings in the 50s also,this is why i like to use other tools for det detection on the dyno on hi powered cars.

Theres a few up at that level Nathan but Danny said to keep it very safe because the 25 pistons do fail and the stock rods snap thru their oil squirter hole but some ppl want to run them at high power and plan for a rebuild when it does fail so if you want more theres lots to be had but its owners risk.

  7. R31s are one of the sweetest Skylines ever,My son has a Genuine GTS'R and his sis has a Passage GT and a bunky Aussie 31, 31 Coupes are my Favorite Skyline. Im sure all 31 drivers are not like some of the guys at the last outing.
  8. If your ECU can map boost to TPS you can still use the 2530s. Ive have an RB30 powered GTR in at the moment and love the match.

  12. Seen a few GTRs with this problem latley and its ended up being stuffed bigend bearings or a broken valve guide ontop of a piston.
  13. S2 CAS is the same its only the very last R33s that had the 34 type cas. S1 and S2's have an all alloy sensor but the late ones and 34s have a black plastic cap and a very different drive.

  16. Punks running 9psi more than you Phil and the gain was crazy.We can do the same when you change those coils.
  17. Ive found it hard to pick any trans function differance with aftermarket ECUs also.
  18. The CAS plug pinout is not the same on S1-2 as the R34 type needing the sensor wires swapped,the power and ground are the same. Better hope you have late R33 cams and not R34 as there solid.
  19. It comes down to the reason you were stopped and your attutude. Ive driven modded cars for 24 years and only ever got a sticker once and yes i was being silly and smart mouthed and that was in 1984 and i learned from that and have had no problems since.
  20. Tomei have stopped RB25 lifters,still listed but no longer avalible. Ive tryed to get a set for 16 months and would love to find some new old stock.Solid type for pro cams.
  21. Theres been a lot of talk on TV about starting 6 week training courses to speed up the building trade.I hope that never happens and we all know 90% of whats written or said is bullshit.

  25. S2 and S1 cas interchange but very late R33s have R34 cas with the black plastic cap.
