Don't forget, I want a horsey on mine, one with 2 heads please. cheers

As the guys have said straight on off for the R33GTST. The R34GTT Neo has infinitely variable inlet cam timing. Helps pass the later/more stringent polution rules. cheers

Sos To All Rb25 Tuning Guru's & Skyd
Sydneykid replied to Targa Tom's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What cams you got in it? cheers -
Tell me about it, it took me a year to organise. Finally I had to arrange it via Jamex (a GCG, Whiteline and Bilstein reseller) and they only did it because of the good response from the suspension Group Buy. cheers

Rear End Very Unsettled Under Brakes
Sydneykid replied to AzzurrA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
My first suggestion would be to get the rear wheel alignment checked, toe and camber. Make sure they check the tie rod ends for play. If that is all OK, then repeat after me......... HICAS is not my friend cheers -
Adj Camshaft Pulley & New Cam Belt

Ask Prank, if he can't do it then I will sit down and change the links myself, one by one. I am getting a bit tired of emailing pictures to people. cheers -
I did say SIMPLISTICALLY................ I can run batch fire on the Motec and it handles the 1100 cc injectors easily for a smooth closed loop idle. So it’s not simply a batch fire versus sequential question, the Motec injector control circuitry is obviously “faster” than the Wolf. cheers

What Spring Rates Are Stock Gtr Springs?
Sydneykid replied to Ruffels's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
That sounds familiar, maybe the 3/3.3 was for VSpec or N1 I've gotta learn not to trust the memory cheers -
OK, let me know if we get to suite up cheers

Rb26 Turbo Comparision Graph (from Latest Hpi Mag)
Sydneykid replied to CruiseLiner's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Is there some question about Paul’s power figure being accurate? The ¼ mile time and TS indicates to me that it is pretty accurate. As usual the answer is in the numbers; From memory HKS rate the 2530’s at 320 bhp each Most people accept that HKS underrate their turbos by around 10% 320 X 2 X 110% = 704 bhp 704 bhp = 525 kw – 80 kw losses = 445 4wkw And that rating is using 100 ron fuel. Using something a little more oxygenated can give as much as 15% above that. So I personally have no problem with the power figure cheers . PS, Paul’s car has ~50% more power at 4,000 rpm, that’s 2530 response. -

Most R32GTR's are ~3 kg/mm front and ~3.3 kg/mm rear cheers -
Any spots left? 1 car 2 drivers? cheers

BATMBL is the man, stainless or mild steel. Send him a PM, he has them in stock. BTW $300 for the Magic 4" cat was a lot, they were $210 on the Group Buy. Tip, when looking for stuff try the Group Buy section first, good prices and always plenty of reports back from other SAU guys. cheers

Wtb Stagea Std Suspension(spring Only)
Sydneykid replied to jason stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Front or rear? Do you to borrow for a short time for compliance? Or buy and keep permanently? cheers -
This Group Buy is currently closed. There are no R32GTR Bilsteins left. Bilsteins are attempting to get an airfreight shipment during the next 3 weeks. However there will be only limited numbers in the shipment. So place your orders now to avoid dissapointment. cheers

Simplistically, the Wolf has slow injection triggers that can't open and close the injectors fast enough. This is not helped by the batch fire (2 X 3) which means half as much opening per revolution is required (compared to full sequentlial). Power FC's have the fastest injection triggers, they are at least as fast as the Motec M600. Plus they fire full sequential, same as the standard ECU. That's why you can run 1400 cc injectors with a Power FC, they are that fast. cheers

Your local bearing shop, CBC, NBC etc The Whiteline R32 front camber kit comes with nipples cheers -
Back to back, same car, same dyno, 10 rwkw, that's all we could get and we tried real hard. cheers

Optimax Extreme What’s Needed?
Sydneykid replied to THE_350GT's topic in General Automotive Discussion
As posted elsewhere (tip = try a search before you start a new thread) We have been using Shell Optimax Extreme 100 ron exclusively since it became available in Sydney in the R33GTST. It has a PFC running the default ignition timing which knocks noticeably (dash warning) on 98 ron. In several months running the 100 ron we have not seen any dash warnings and the logged knock levels are less than 20. I have modified the injection maps for a target A/F ratio of 12 to 1. I have heard all of the ethanol stories, eats fuel lines, blocks injectors, roots fuel pumps and gives your unborn two heads. So I have pulled the injectors a couple of times, checked the flow rates and guess what? No changes. Also I have cut the last 3 fuel filters open and guess what? No decomposed fuel hoses in there either. We also log fuel pressure and guess what? The fuel pump is showing no signs of dying. Sorry, I can’t test the unborn baby theory. I have checked with everyone that I now who is running Shell Optimax Extreme 100 ron in their Skyline and I have yet to find anyone who can report eaten fuel lines, clogged injectors, blocked fuel filters or failed fuel pumps. My suggestion, get on with it and reap the benefits. cheers -
Depends on what you mean by “unopened”. The bottom end was certainly untouched. I am not a fan of decompressing engines using thick head gaskets. So I pulled the head off and had our machinist port it slightly and match the combustion chamber volumes and then polish them. We o’ringed the head at the same time, just for safety and used a standard head gasket. No real drop in the compression ratio, but no detonation problems on 98 ron. If I had access to 100 ron then, like I do to Shell Optimax Extreme now, I wouldn’t have bothered doing the head. Ben’s R34GTT on the other hand had a thick head gasket to decompress it. Mods list; GCG ball bearing high flow Standard R33GTR intercooler Pipework made by our race team fabricator Performance Metalcraft split dump 3.25” no name Jasma exhaust High flow cat Tomei 260 Poncams Nismo FPR Nismo Injectors Bosch 044 fuel pump R32GTR BOVs’ Power FC with Boost Control Kit Tuning by Dyno Dave Steve Thompson “special”, sprung paddle clutch Lightened flywheel MT drag slicks 11.99 at 119.8 mph with 1.8 for 60’ 265 rwkw on Shell Optimax 98 ron and 287 rwkw on Elf Turbo Max I am currently doing an R33GTST with pretty much the same set of mods as above. I want to get to 270 rwkw without touching the cylinder head on Shell Optimax Extreme 100 ron. cheers

Me = 265 rwkw Ian, Bullant 47 = 275 rwkw (different dyno) Peter, Bass Junky 250 rwkw (on another different dyno) Yet to checked after he fixed the wastegate problem And probably 10 more if I looked up the dyno charts cheers

Ok, I give up, I am totally confused. My understanding was we were talking about the stand alone, a full replacement ECU. If we are talking about a piggy back, then forget all of my previous posts. Being a piggy back, it uses the standard ECU shift logic for ignition retard and cut. From memory it sits between the CAS and the standard ECU much like the SITC. It modifies the trigger inputs such that the ignition timing is controlled. But when the standard ecu retards or cuts the ignition (eg; for gearchanges) then the piggy back simply follows. Obviously it is somewhat better than an SITC as it has multiple 2 dimensional load points, but in operation it is much the same. All the nice stuff like cold start and run, idle sped control for electrical, power steering and air con load etc is controlled by the standard ECU. Simply put, it’s a slightly more sophisticated Greddy EManage with a HKS badge on it for 3 times the price cheers PS; stick some larger injectors in there and a different AFM and turn the piggy back off and see whether you can drive it. Hell, see if you can even start it.

Just Jap Fuel Pressure Regulator
Sydneykid replied to RB SANDY's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Have a look at the Nismo adjustable FPR (~$140 from Nengun) it bolts directly onto the fuel rail, so it saves buying a fuel rail fitting, hoses and clamps. As used by Sydneykid and Mines, so it can’t be that bad cheers -
R34GTT with GCG ball bearing high flow and Tomei Poncams 11.9 at 120 mph. And I am not the only one to do it, Ben (HPI editor) in his R34GTT did it as well. cheers

I will post it up again for those that may not have been around when I made this offer before. If anyone thinks that they have a Wolf ECU that runs the auto in a Skyline properly, then please let me know. I will fly to wherever you are and you can take me for a drive, I will even pay for lunch and the petrol used. I have done it once before, a guy with an R32GTST 4 door auto in Adelaide reckoned the Wolf worked perfectly in his car. So I flew down to Adelaide a day early for a race meeting and he took me for a drive. It was just terrible, rough changes, flared all over the place etc etc. He thought it was great, I hated it. About 2 weeks later the gearbox failed and he had MV rebuild it. Mike warned him at the time that he needed to do some thing about the ECU or convert the auto to driver gear change control using one of Mike’s black boxes. The Wolf dealer in Perth even offered to show me personally it working perfectly, but that never happened. So the offer still stands. cheers
