  1. No, sorry it's not my information to hand out. Take a look at some current generation high performance engines (Honda K20 etc) and you will get the idea. If you are doing track work, then it helps with keeping the heat in the combustion chamber and not through the piston crown and hence the oil. Oil retentiion coating on the piston skirts is also worthwhile as it slows down the wear when you are running race type clearances. For a road only engine neither are necessary. Cheers Gary
  2. For a sticky............................. What we use; 4WD Transfer = Castrol Transmax Z Automatic Transmission = Castrol Transmax Z Manual Transmission = Castrol Syntrans 75W-85 or Castrol Syntrax 75W-90 Differential = Castrol SAF-XA Cheers Gary
  3. Yes, both front and rearhoudl be well trapped. I assume you have used the standard rubber spring seats, they are necessary. Check the spring part numbers, 73175 (front pair) and 70191 (rear pair). The part numbers are on the boxes, plus each spring has it's part number on a tag on a coil, 23175 = 1 front spring and 20191 = 1 rear spring. You can come down 2 grooves (16mm) and still have a legal amount of trap. Please PM Matt if you have any questions. Cheers Gary
  4. Bosch 044 is rated for 200 l/h @ 72.5 psi Walbro is rated at 255 l/h @ 36 psi Say you are running 20 psi boost and standard fuel pressure (38 psi), meaning 58 psi in total. The 044 will deliver MORE than 200l/h because it is running at LESS than its rated pressure The Walbro will deliver LESS than 255l/h because it is running at MORE than its rated pressure It's the same problem as the stupid "500 hp fuel pump" rating, 500 hp in an N/A engine is NOT the same as 500 hp in a turbo engine running 20 psi boost. Cheers Gary
  5. I can't remember all of the sampling rates as they vary from car to car, but in general what you have looks OK to me. In fact some are overkill. 20Hz, Oil Pressure - I use 10Hz 10Hz, Intake Temp - I use 2/5Hz 20Hz, Boost - I use 10Hz 20Hz, Fuel Pressure - I use 5Hz That gives me more memory for logging suspension travel, we use 25/50Hz for that on the F3. The new Bosch loggers in the 2008 Dallaras are supposed to do 100Hz on the shock travel logging. That's import for the all important high frequency shock tuning. Cheers Gary
  6. 1mm larger than they are now It's a funnel, so 8 to 12 degrees taper is fine Yes Yes Yes Cheers Gary
  7. That's because the rear bar upgrade is substantial on R31's. Not all Skylines/Stagea models are the same, 4wd Stageas, for example, benefit from a front bar upgrade, but it's the rear bar upgrade that you really notice. On R33GTST's it's the reverse, the front bar upgrade is the big improver. Cheers Gary
  8. As per the Stagea Suspension threadp; Front toe = zero Rear toe = zero Front camber = 1 degree negative Front caster = as much as I can get, but I it is never enough I always run a little more caster on the left (~0.25 degree) to stop the drift due to road camber. Rear camber = 0.5 degree negative Cheers Gary
  9. The standard groove, identified by the paint, gives 340 mm front and 320 mm rear when used with the Whiteline springs . That's after the usual settling in period of 1,000 k's or so. Each groove is 8 mm apart, so the recomended height (355/345) would require moving the circlip up 2 grooves on the front and 3 grooves on the rear. If you carry rear passengers often, have a sub abnd/or tow then I would suggest going up 4 grooves on the rear. Cheers Gary
  10. It depends on the quality and size of the spherical joint used in the strut top. The cheaper (not necessarily "cheap") strut tops have undersized and/or low quality spherical bearings that wear out very quickly. They then become restricted in their freedome of rotation, which causes the spring seat to carry that load. Cheers Gary
  11. The recommendeed height for a 2wd (GTT,GTST, GT etc) is 350 mm front and 340 mm rear, for a 4wd (GTR, GTS4 etc) is 355 mm front and 345 mm rear. That is achieved by using the Group Buy Whiteline springs and Bilsteins with the circlip in the "as delivered" position. On the Group Buy Bilsteins there are 2 positions 8 mm each higher and 3 positions 8mm each lower. You simply select the height you want before you install them. The Nismo Bilsteins don't have the additional circlip grooves, however they can be easily machined into the shock body. Cheers Gary
  12. There are now units available for under $US300 I saw them at SEMA. The main problem is they are an instantaneous display, no logging. So you have to point a video camera at them to record the data. Cheers Gary
  13. Nope, it did the 12 hour last year, plus a couple of 2 hours and a few rounds of the Production Car Championship. Looking like a 2 car team next year, that'll make my brain hurt. Cheers Gary
  14. I wouldn't use those settings. Toe in on the front just makes them understeer, toe in on the rear is unneccessary as they don't have HICAS. The rear negative camber is a bit excessive at just over 1 degree. The front negative camber is not quite enough at 0.5 degree, should be around 1 degree. As with all Stageas (and Skylines) there isn't enough caster at 3.3 degrees. Plus the split left ot right is not enough to stop the drift to the left. Cheers Gary
  15. Unfortunately in this circumstance (S13/14/15) he is correct, I haven't seen this particular problem in Skylines, but they don't have struts. Cheers Gary
  16. Hooked a wheel off the track before the chase @ 245+ kph, spun it sideways into the sand trap, the sand and side on wheels did the rest Put some new brakes pads in it, fill it up with gas and it would do another 12 hours. Cheers Gary
  17. Try the Group Buy http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85467 Cheers Gary
  18. Remove rear seat, squab and backrest and the parcel shelf. Cheers Gary
  19. At 350 mm front ride height on an R33GTST we have 3 degrees negative camber using using the Group Buy kit. Cheers Gary
  20. Nope, you remove the whole spring shock units at once. Cheers Gary
  21. Good question, I believe we still have the receipts, so it shouldn't be a problem. As usual the warranty isn't valid for "racing", nobody covers that. Cheers Gary
  22. It's a 100% 1 way, no overrun ramps. It has zero preload, so it's not at all like a clutch pack LSD. Had 4, one in each of the 2 cars plus 2 spares with alternate diff ratios. Selling 1 car, so also selling the spare Quaife centre (not the alternate ratios). Yes I can arrange It's not about dibs, it's about money, first in with the cash gets it. Cheers gary
  23. What model, R32/33/34? Cheers Gary
  24. We thought we had him beat as well, but they got it going again. I hate pace cars, we got screwed twice, but it wasn't as bad as last year when it was 3 times. Cheers Gary
