  1. I'm interested in the main studs that you have. Will they fit all RB engines?? Turbine
  2. Hi guys, what would you get if you could place an RB20 crankshaft into an RB30 block. Would they fit?? I know rod sizes will differ, that's not a problem just need to know if those cranks will go in the big block. Turbine
  3. Ok so it sounds like they just wont bolt up. No worries guys thanks for that, I'll try something else Turbine
  4. Hey guys, has anyone tried this setup RB20DE bottom end with a RB25DE cylinder head.????? I'd love to know what sort of compression ration this comes up with, or if they will actually bolt on. Turbine

  6. Yes cubes, the car feels fine at light load and cruise. Economy is good enough to drive out along the great ocean road from melbourne with the car club. The real trick was to modify the standard airflow meter so that it sees or feels the same air velocity across the sensor as it would if it had the stock turbo still on it. But it's mass is increased dramatically. It was difficult to figure but it works. We have had a few tuners baffled by this when they get told what size those injectors are on a stock ecu.
  7. We have a R32 GTS4 RB20DET with quite a few mods done to it, also with those injectors installed. If we did'nt tell anyone they were in their, they would'nt know the difference with the idle and low RPM stability. This is with the standard ecu. http://www.turboclub.com/Australia/Members...GTS4_AWD_21.jpg Turbine
  8. I run an Autronic SMC in my race car. For a race car it's perfect, for the street it does more than what you really need but if you like tweaking engines i don't think you'll find much better. So they are $1800 or so and then you need all the compatible sensors to run it, but I'll bet you have more horsepower per dollar when compared to another type of ecu setup on a similar engine. If not more horsepower you'll have better drivability/ torque. Turbine.
  9. I think it just boils down to the old horsepower per dollar saying. It would be great to have 1000HP under your right foot, but how many of us really get that sort of power to the ground and have fun with it. I reckon their would be more of an interest in a RB30 twin cam setup with a good 600BHP thats cheap enough for just about anyone. Make thse kits available and you will have people jumping at them without a second thought. That's my thoughts. Turbine
  10. Hi Sydney Kid. What length would they be set at? This interests me because i wish to make up a custom manifold for my RB20, and because I have no room issues under my bonnet i can basically plumb the exhaust straight out of the head, into the turbo and straight out the side of the car. Engine is redlined at 8500RPM and spends all of it's time between 5000 and 8250RPM. Cheers Turbine
  11. Hello Dump_Pipe, do you still have this set??? Turbine
  12. Yeh thats true about the oil squirters, but I think they are only a benefit if you go circuit racing. It's not a real big issue in a drag racer. They can be fitted with some slight machining to the N/A blocks. Turbine
  13. 30 amp fuse works on my beast as well PHATR32 Turbine
  14. Hi legend01, this may be a silly comment but if this car is an auto could it be slipping at all? If so that could be worth a look. Have a look for boost leaks in the system as well. Turbine
  15. I have the same blocks in my race car. They run 10.0:1 compression with the different pistons, but the rest i beleive is the same for the turbo block assembly. 10.0:1 is great for a street car, but limits your available boost pressure. Valve springs could be of lesser tension than a turbo motor. It would be good to really know for sure if the bottom ends are the same as the turbo engines. Turbine
  16. Yeh it's a good idea Duncan. I guess I'm a bit hesitant to even pull the engine out, seeing as it's my mums car and she stresses when it's in peices. But the end result will be like you say, a brand new engine that will last for years. Cheers Duncan
  17. I'm joining in on this one guys. I want to stretch this little 2.0L engines wings as much as I can, using as many stock parts as posible.(it means I dont have S**t loads of money). I have my turbochargers exhaust housing being modified at the minute. It's a T3 flange .63AR. What I did was bore into the scroll area in line with the direction of the airflow into the turbine, just before it turns the corner. This is where the external wastegate goes. This way the airflow doent have to turn a corner to escape out to atmoshpere. I'll have pics soon Turbine
  18. What sort of intake manifold mods , if any do you have on your engine Cerbera? Turbine
  19. G'day All, So what do these measure up like. Big end, Pin end, Width and length I have these in mind 6.00" length 2.015" big end (no bearings fitted) 0.867" Pin size 0.888" Pin bore 0.944" width 3/8" bolts I'm mainly interested in the crank end Turbine
  20. Sounds good to me. Thanks for the advice on this job. I called nissan they said the bearings may have different grades @ each conrod as well, so I'll watch for that as well Cheers. Turbine
  21. So blind_e4lk What you are saying is that i cant just pull the engine off the sump assy and leave the front wheel drive system in the car.??? Ok, what are these cap bolts?? are the head bolts?? not sure what you mean their. Turbine
  22. Hey guys, I need some advice on replacement rod bearings for an R32 RB20DET GTS4. I have no idea where to get these from. Does anyone know of a good source? Also the job itself looks labour intensive but not too difficult, is there any traps in doing this job. The car is fitted with an auto box. Thanks Turbine
  23. So what sort of camshaft/timing do you think this engine setup has. I would be surprised if this is radical, may be just an improved standard setup Turbine
