  2. thats our favourite place to go broke ;D (thank god its in the ent book so we get a discount) mmm teppanyaki!! I think the set menus for teppanyaki start at $65 but they do have a standard menu as well. They also have private teppanyaki rooms.. if only we were that rich.. There's also a Margo's seafood restaurant in Crown but I don't think it's A grade or anything.
  3. All you people who may not have noticed or never read the forums, the next breakfast is on the 2/4, check the thread in the VIC section... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=110601 Be there or be a slackar5e..
  4. Ok I've had the flu all week so I'm like a blonde x2 mentally.. so bear with me. The car's not making boost after we swapped the turbo and a few minor things... CA18DET 180.. got it tuned then of course the bloody turbo blew later the same day.. So... 1) swapped from stock turbo to a slightly larger SR turbo (in VGC). 2) Swapped from stock AFM to RB20AFM, rewired plug. 3) Got some custom intake and intercooler piping done. 4) Added an RB20 plumback BOV (currently venting to atmo until we can get a hose to fit, and the return pipe for the BOV on the intake piping is blocked off) 5) Pulled apart and cleaned inlet tract (including manifold + TB) because it was full of oil from when the blown turbo (oil seal on compressor side). 6) fuel injectors cleaned while it was all apart 7) new liquid gasket through intake side + exhaust manifold to head 8) put in a silencer caus it was even louder than before.. like about as loud as a lawnmower (took it for a run without the silencer in today and it was running better but still no boost of course). 9) changed spark plugs, gapped to .7 10) Refilled oil/water blah blah. Will be changing oil again & flushing coolant after another run or two. 11) Changed SAFC settings to reflect rb20 afm. When boost hits ~4-6PSI the car seems to hesitate/stammer (still revs but doesn’t boost – engine kind of choking on itself). My guess is that it is a leak in the cooler piping somewhere.. but not too keen on pulling it all apart only to find that there's not. There is one stud missing on the turbo outlet elbow as it needs to be retapped. We’re also uncertain of the current wastegate plumbing setup, not sure if this may be causing it. It's also really, really hot under the bonnet, with most heat seemingly coming from the dump pipe. The Temp gauge in the cabin is normal, but engine bay temps are definitely up. The only thing that’s different that could affect it is: 1) Left off a few of the minor heat shields (ie small shield between the exhaust and compressor housings), and 2) The silencer (possible that the exhaust gas is heating the dump more than it used to because the hot gases are not escaping as quickly?). Any other ideas/advice is much appreciated. Hope that all makes sense. Thanks guys!! Kaz
  5. Well there's a really big one on the corner of King and Flinders St.. you can't miss it! I think it's about $18 for a main meal ;P There's Watergrill on Toorak Rd Sth Yarra which is also in the Ent Book. Its a gold class restaurant 20-30 for a main. Lobster Cave is also in it and another gold class rest'.. err.. pricey is right!! $40 for a main.. entrees are $21-25 The anchorage in Williamstown is about 25-30 for a main course. Melbourne Oyster Bar is on King st 25-35 mains. Seafood platters $75 each. Theres also Waterfront in Southbank, Tides Seafood & Oyster in Port M and Kerferds by the Sea in Albert Park. Personally if I was going to eat seafood I'd probably just go to a Japanese restaurant caus you know it will be fresh and exc service.. Except I don't eat seafood so don't ask for a review on any of the above
  6. he has to make sweet love to it before he eats it.. don't know what he does for the other 58mins tho.. hehheh
  7. "PUB/beer/social night/meet" will probably make more people look at the PDF than 'fundraiser' alone Would be keen to go but I'm going to Geelong that day Have a good night tho! Who drinks more anyway.. the WRX club or SAU?
  8. edit: bah.. thats how you don't press Edit
  9. Well personally I couldn't be arsed unless it came with a decent tune. I don't know, to me it seems pointless? Maybe I'm missing something.. The BBQ sounds fairly enticing tho ;D

    Hankook K104

nope.. no grip in the wet to start with. Of course its all personal opinion but from memory they haven't had good reviews in the SAU tyre thread either.
  11. $10-20 depending what you want.. from memory it's like around $15 for a huge plate of schnitzel, chips & salad. Oh and +beer.. unless you're on your P's
  12. Yep Centreline Suspension in Thomastown does my car too, they do a very thorough job
  13. That's awesome news. I swear every workshop around Campbellfield/Fawkner is full of dodgy f**ks. You can just sense it when you're talking to them. You could probably turn up to any workshop in the area and they'd deserve a good beating for something or another. It'd be the first place I'd look if my car was stolen. Was the white 33 actually their car or was it another stolen vehicle? I guess the thieves won't be working for that workshop again eh? They must have been 15 with those sh1te skills. Btw what side of town do you live on for your car to turn up there? I think you owe your mate quite a few beers
  14. Ahh see that's what happens when you change your post, you end up deleting everything important Sorry.. so yep $60 for the book, if you can't pick it up from the SAU meetings or any other SAU event I'm at, it's a flat $10 for express postage
  15. you can try centreline suspension in thomastown, they put Roys seat in.. but I seem to remember it was a bitch of a seat to get in so I dont know if he scared them off doing it again
  16. Hello everyone! The new Entertainment Books for 2006-2007 are being launched in early April! Those of you who purchased one last year will know that all the discounts and offers (more than $10,000 worth!) more than make up for the purchase price, even if you only use a few of the offers available. We made our money back straight away, purely by hiring a car for a few days when we went interstate last year! We have also saved multiple times on accommodation, takeaway food (eg KFC), cinema and bowling tickets to name only a few things. Anyway this year, if you make an advance order for a Greater Melbourne book, you will receive an advance order certificate with some bonus offers attached (that you can use immediately), and you will be *guaranteed* to get your book at the April SAU meeting. The bonus offers are valid until end of June 06 so there's no rush to use them. You will need to make payment before the 6th April 2006 to get the bonus. I will start handing them out at the March SAU meeting on the 21/3/06. You need to get in early to be reserve your copy and the bonus offers. Anyone who hasn't purchased the book before is most welcome to get one this year, I will post up a thread detailing everything about the Entertainment Book this week. You can make payment directly to me (preferably) or if you want, you can make payment to the SAU VIC account or you can also bring cash to the March SAU meeting (please PM me beforehand with approx # of books you'll be paying for). ANZ Bank BSB: 013347 Account: 541432375 Name: C Lacey or Westpac/Bank Of Melb BSB: 033305 Account: 265609 Name: Skylines Australia - Victoria Use reference 'EntBook <username>' Books are $60 again this year including GST and if you cannot make the SAU meetings or any other events, express postage will be $10. Please send the receipt to [email protected] with your postal address. And if you cannot attend the March SAU meeting, I will send you the bonus offers & advance order confirmation via regular mail. Any questions just ask! Cheers, Kaz
  17. Ahh perhaps this is the solution to my problem then. You know it'd be nice if someone actually said something when they deleted a post unnecessarily. At least one of the mods leaves a rude remark so you know what's happened.
  18. get a gazelle!! hehe small, light and RWD. Excellent starting point for what you want to do. They actually have motorsports training in albury/wodonga but I think you need to finish high school first. Geez saving.. the only thing I did when I was 13 was spend..
  19. Yep agreed.. the games are gheye! (imo) Just an inconvenience for us. I was just saying this morning.. who gives a rats ar5e about a baton.. a flame going across the world is one thing but a baton.. pfft. Don't drive down the northern citylink tomorrow (inbound) at about 5:30 or you'll get stuck.. (ballarat>sunbury>port melb is tomorrow). I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't for the gumby tourists who can't drive/walk across a road etc and the fact we can't even drive down half the roads we use daily. Oh and don't get your hopes up about the PT system Al.. apparently that's going to be chaos as well. It's been suggested that we use PT 'outside of peak times' ...pfft.
  20. Sif need to 'do search'.. This thread ought to be moved to the right section like 'general maintenance' I agree with Bec hehe.. tho its probably more suited for my car That champagne is nice too. Black is a good sleeper colour for you tho.. Even the silver anodized look base coat you can get from supercheap looks cool on its own.
  21. At least that long It's a bit of a grey area after 30 years tho.
  22. .. ok change that to Cheaper with shannons than just cars.. Thanks matt
  23. 1082/yr for a 180sx with shannons (ie 541 for 6 months), no extra for pay by the month 530 for 6 months with JCI (6months minimum payment) ie $20 more a year to insure with shannons (and I'm hoping matt can make it even cheaper ) and choice of repairer and lifetime guarantee vs Just cars - choice of repairer IF you get a matched quote and only 3 yr guarantee 25 yrs old, rating 1, garaged in a dodgy suburb, couple of speeding tickets back in 02, no claims/accidents, a few basic mods but otherwise stock. There you go
  24. He washen tat dunk roolly, jusa lil You know.. theres alot of pics lately of Ash with his mouth wide open.. I think him & Justin have got something going on
  25. Centreline are awesome, very honest guys & excellent work. They're not young & stupid, been in the race industry for years. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my cars (except ben@RPM). And I think it's about $90 for a 4 wheel alignment.
