  1. the liberty rx 2.5 97-98 was a 2.5 na wrx motor (quad cam) the later ones went to a single cam per head. better touque but less up top. also the early ones had a fibre head gasket thats renound to let go at about 200k. the later ones all went to steel head gaskets.
  2. there good. ausie ones are the goods. they are quite tall geared. they have a closed deck block with oil squirters. (wrx doesnt) turbo of a 97 wrx (tdo5) is a good upgrade brakes are abit average so is the rear lsd. they are renound to have dodgy lifters. BUT THOSE HEADS FLOW THE BEST OUT OF THEM ALL,a warenty fix was to fit wrx heads. but they arnt as good. converting them to solid lifters is a good idea.no more tapping. gearboxes are ok but will be abit crunchy. on the whole its like buying a 32gtr. if its good its great if its not its a nightmare.

  4. hey has any of you guys herd of a route 6 gearset? thats whats in my gtr. its quite noisy but sems to be working well. like at idle it whines alot
  5. yeah. i had a 34 one it was great. i just sold it with a new nismo clutch and steel flywheel for 1600. oh well its been advertized for alost 1.5years now. so i just had to get rid of it to many tight arsees her to par top dollar lol
  6. the bushes are on the rear diff cover in the subframe. 2 round ones just above the hicas rack. easy way to tell is under power lift off the throttle and it should thud from the back. mine were that gonbe that i didnt have to undo the botlts at all. it just dropped out lol
  7. mona. just get a abs 33 diff it has the sensors on the rear case. loose the pump etc etc. and just pull out the a-lsd light and happy days
  8. ok. well i just had to re-gap my plugs down to .8. cos im using a mitsubishi gto coil; pak. its abit mor compact. but anything over 1 bar it misses. i used to have mazda rx7 twin coils. but they are massive and i cant fit them neatly on the firewall. ithink i will have to get propper cdi coils coz i think the charge time is to high on the mitsubishi ones. id love to use the mazda ones. (i can get a 3 inch long spark from them in the air )
  9. nismos are good but ware out a little bit faster. the g max spec 2 doesnt rattle. the spec 3 does and is 20 times harder to use
  10. if the slaves pointing back its push. if its facing forward its pull.
  11. are yuo sure its back lash???? very un usual. it will whine if its got an excessive amount. on the hoist you will see some backlash but thats 90% in the cv joints. my guess is diff bushes are gone.
  12. first up. what car is it. and is your hicas working? and you should see aprox 6 volts at the solinoid on the rack itsself, if its a 32.not sure about 33,s

  19. nar. he was doing low 6,s im pretty sure. during qualifing i was there with the utes. my ute got f**ked over hard. soooo busy. i had to change a motor in another one to. the jesus ute hehe.

  23. yeah. i dunno. but if i was say a large workshop that does lots of skylines and silvias and most had the same mods. ie gtr pfc 1 bar. etc etc id probably load up the same map from the car i just tuned. and simply fine tune it. and charge the 4hrs for "tuning" not the 1.5 hours max. so yeah tuners lock it so you cant fiddle with them and its another way to make the customer come back. and its that last point that shits me.
