i wouldnt say fail. but any helical diff wont take a single spin well. like on the track going round a corner on power. if it 1 legs it will f**k out heaps fast. its just the design of them. there great when they arnt loaded up heaps. under trackdat antics situations it might suffer. i mean its limmited by the size of the gears inside it. and from what i can tell they cant be alot bigger than a standard one.
how come your want a helical diff?
if you reallllllly want to piss the hicas and alll the wiring. just go to dick smith and but a 12 volt inverter thingy. thats does 3,6,9,12volt. and just hard wire it in and hook it up to the solindoid to give you more power steering.
yes they have variable steering. speed dependeant. ranging from 6 volts at no speed down to 2 volts or there abouts at 100k. unpluging the hicas computer means no voltage so no increase in rack presure and heavy steering.
you need to pull the timing belt off.
there will be 4 14mm bolts, and 6 or 7 12mm ones and a 10mm one. all hidden behind the cambelt..ps.. dont uses the suplied gasket for the pump. use a silicon instead. it works better. the paper gaskets leak.
so to do it its a full strip on the front end of the engine. wich is crank pully off etc ect
haha it was good dude. thanks for having me. its a new leval of drunkness i achieved. i fell over and eventuly couldnt sit up i was that hammerd
but i had no headache the next day lol
its a 040. thats the problem. they just dont work in skylines. the fuel heats up and the cavitate and drop off pressure. untill yoy stop and re start then it does it again.
also the bosch pumps dont work with the hi/low fuel pump switching voltage. just put a walbro or direct replacement nismo/hkss one in
