Guys, Im about to start converting my rb20det cefiro to rb25 and need some opinions on what ecu to use while keeping costs down(if its possible haha) Mods the motor has are as follows: 2535 480cc injectors dump pipe, full 3" exh, no cat, cannon Motor is internally stock. Option 1: re-map r33 ecu. Have been told this is a fairly expensive excercise but I can retain the VCT Option 2: use rb20det ecu and re-map. Upside is that it will be a cheap re-map, but then I either lose the VCT or have to run a external oil line of something similar to retain the VCT, If I red correctly. With this option, maybe I can keep the rb20 loom in the car also, saving me some hassles (if the loom has all the plugs to run a 25) Option 3: PFC run the r33 loom and just buy one, 1000 to 1500 for a PFC plus tuning Option 4: run the stock r33 ecu with a FCD and use the stock injectors Option 5: get a jap chipped ecu, and maybe this car be re-mappable? So pritty much need to look at the above oprions, with bang-for-buck being the best. Feel free to correct me on the above info if its wrong, as Im fairly new to RB series engine Cheers, Dan

Hmmm maybe dan Pm'd you elsewhere lol. Any chance you can get either teamdat or another ozdat WA member to send the struts down to melbourne? Cheers, Waz. PS: the struts have a similar rotor bolted behind the hub design as k,200b,1600 etc? Not intergrated like mr30 and aus r31? -

Dr30 Struts, What Brakes/hubs Can Be Used
works 510 replied to works 510's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Ok ive secured them bare strut legs with hubs and a pair of hr31 calipers to match. Organising the brakes that may not fit already. New dba rotors from bursons are a steal at 66 a pop. But my new delema is brake pads! Was planning on bendix ultimates but it seems bendix nor ferodo do any performance pads for the hr31. Other options for pads, ebc greenstuff or what ever, project mu and other similar jap brands, What do you guys run? Cheers, Waz. -

So 340mm in inches is 13.3859. Just measured up my wheel and yer 340mm available there....but also gotta consider how far in or out the caliper sits from the hub ( theres a step in my wheel that goes down to 315mm ARGH). MAY work but probally not with my wheels -

i thought z31 would be ok, And yer another option would be hr31 with ca18 silvia brakes attached. Know 14's clear them for sure. Its just not funny how rare it is to see a pair of brakes with hubs pop up, Might have to end up paying for what someone wants for them in aus Dans 1600 runs around a 275mm disk with bmw 4spots which 4spots go over, but yer caliper is where the clearance problems are. These are looking good, too bad they aint on the main island. Today i added up total costs to build a pair with new trd shocks, cusco tops and other gear which included new dba rotors and bendix pads and that was roughly $1700 Ok and another Question, Whats max diamenter body shock can be fitted? -
Still hunting around yahoo jp for some dr30 coilovers! Been waiting for a pair of fronts with brakes or a whole set but thats hard to come by(surely you thyink people selling brake less struts have the brakes too ahahah). So IF i do get a hub/brake less pair of fronts is there another model possibly z31 i can borrow the hubs and brakes off?. And no im not looking for big arse mofo brakes at the moment for my 1600 and 5stud isn't very valuable to me. Just want to have that magical 100mm strut for one day if i ever upgrade to another similar nissan i can run 4spots and 5stud blingers Cheers! Oh, and ill be running 14" wheels, Would i even have any clearance issues with dr30/z31 brakes?

Does Your Local Wrecker Have Datsuns?
works 510 replied to coupe72001's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Its expected, as our cars are getting pritty old now With my 1600's, its at the point where I dont sell anything 1600 related, and will buy stuff to hang onto as decent nick parts are getting harder and more expensive to locate (front chrome, front guards) Over the years of going to wreckers, you see the different models and years cycle through. Last year seem plenty of bluebirds,mr30's and a couple of r31's. This year the wreckers are full of R31's not many blueys etc. And the occasional Datsun. which is usually a sunny, 200b or 120y ffs Made the trip to Talbort a few times in the last year, the only problem is that most of the cars have been there that long, rust has taken over. Theres also a few more wreckers around that way, I havent checked them out yet But on your behalf, from memory there was a pritty clean, original brown c210 with gold trx mags there. I got the gearknob out of it haha Only place I know of that gets a steady flow for datsun is centre rd wreckers. Even then you have to be quick (I take days off work to make sure I beat everyone else to parts haha) Dan, -
