Guys, Selling this kit, was going onto my rb25 but it died, building rb30 now and have gone Ihi highmount Turbo made 230rwkw on 14psi in the last owners car, I didnt even get to run it in mine sad.gif Kit consists of: kkk k26 330r turbo, no shaft play, oil cooled and bush bearing Cheap as to rebuild when the time comes Wastegate, unsure on size Adaptor block that bolts between your stock exh manifold and turbo, the gate bolts to this. Stainless dump pipe Screamer pipe. New gaskets bar the dump gasket. Sitting in a mates backyard with no motor and box. Piston number 6 in the 25 decided it had enough and I have about $3 to my name. Picked up a rb30 bottom end today tho -

Guys, Im still accumilating info and parts for my conversion and had a interesting thought at work today. If I remember correctly, the GMS Bathurst GTR's ran a 9. something to 1 Comp ratio on mild boost. Now, From what I read, the 30det isnt a fan of smaller turbo's that choke them down restricting power at decent rpm. The Bathurst cars, being twin turbo, in theory, there would be no/minimal restriction? While trying to keep costs down, I would like to keep my current turbo setup (kkk k26 2770 with 42mm ext wastgate) Turbo is rated at 330ps. Would the larger size of the ext gate help with back pressure and restrictions? How would it go with using the 9.1:1 CR pistons? I can imagine it would be reasonably smooth power curve if it could still make power up top? Thanks for your time again

Its starting to come down to a budget VS need thing. Build it properly the first time etc, but the budget is already getting killed as I think of other things that need to be changed/modified to suit the extra deck height. From what ive red so far, the rb30e pistons will be good for the output im chasing. Big boost wont be used either, and ive got a baby turbo so should be responsive as. -

Thanks for the info guys. Even with the low CR of 8.2, I would of thought being a 3litre, it would be still tractable? Looks like If I dont stuff up the initial build of the motor (clearances etc) my motor should like a long happy life. Tune pending haha Cheers, -

I should mention that I havent got a catch-can setup, just vented to the atmosphere. Beforehand there was slight vapour present from the rocker cover breathers, but nothing like what it has now

Just did some more reading, looks like Im going the stock piston route, either with new pistons or just a hone and re-ring. Now to find some time to get a series 2 bottom end -
Guys, Looking to start a rb30det project since the bottom end has died in my rb25. Motor is a series 1 r33 rb25det. Have done abit or research and am armed with the twin cam rb30 guide. Chose to go the rb30 route due to overall cost involved, and cubes are good I have a decent budget but am not overly rich so seeing if I can save some moneys. Current things I have bolted to the rb25 are: kkk k26 2670 (330ps rated) with external wastegate, 480ccc injectors,z32 afm, exh, intercooler, Will be using stock cam's, but going to using greedy/jun or copy inlet manifold to make sure I dont get into trouble with the extra deck height in the cefiro. Now, I need some opinions, especially from the guys who are running standard bottom ends. How long have they been running for, with what modifications and what boost? I plan on upgrading to a larger k26, looking for 250~ rwkw's Possible to get away with using some new cast ACL or similar brand pistons for the power Im chasing? Its a drift car, but not daily driven, reliability is a must. Or just buy (insert brand name) forged pistons for peice of mind? Dont mind spending the extra on forgies, but any money saved is a bonus. Thanks for your time Dan.

Hi, Heres the story: I installed a Rb25 into my ceffy, the whole time I was having a missfire issue, after swapping plugs a heap of times, trying different gaps, swapping other ign parts I had the shits and changed to the AU coilpack set up, just for something to do and it was worth a shot. Fired the car up, let it idle till it warmed up, went for a test drive. About 2 streets away from my house, driving under light load in a 50kph street, the cabin fills with smoke. I shit myself, pull over and pot the bonnet So I know what blow by is and what causes it, but Ive never seen it this bad before! It was literally high pressure oil coming from the breathers on the rocker cover. Started it up, drove back home. Pritty much no oil left in the sump. Mods include: aftermarket intercooler, full exh, hks 2535 on 10psi. Stock ecu Now, Is it possible that a lean-out might of happened the last time I drove it, enough to do damage but not enough to show it at the time? Head gasket? Other issues? Havent looked at the car yet, was kind of annoyed it didnt really want to touch it for the time being, just trying to determine the problem before I rip the motor out. Cheers,
