UM I THINK THIS SUMS IT UP........
-
I believe a number of venues need to be created around the area to allow off street drag racing, even skid pan drifting and skids. Southside, Goldcoast and Northside would be a good start. Sponsorship and an entry fee(low) would help pay for track staff. Police can be welcomed for d!ckhead enforcement and zero alcohol policy. Type 2 offences for illegal modifications needs to be abolished. Perhaps H Plates for Hoon offenders so the d!ckheads are easily identified and distinguished from other road users. Imtorqing

Its one of those new fancy things they do......Its called colour coding lol...... -
Yeh drive around with the Carbon hood but I would be packing some lube. Its like swimming in a tank of sharks and thinking.....could I get bitten.......It might not happen overnight but it will happen. The only bonnets they are letting go is the BLITS fibreglass bonnets as they are ADR approved. Goodluck.....especially in Ippy Cheers Imtorqing

Man thats harsh. Yeah a letter to Qld Transport will do nothing and even if u sent a letter to the POPO they wont withdraw it cuz it will go back to the original issuer who would not have changed his mind. Its the old ignorance of the law is no defense blah blah blah Chin up and best of luck with the sale (Put the price up 500 lol)

Would you really buy a R32? its a dinghy though.. only respect is for the R32 GTR. best off getting a R33 or R34.. but up too you .. I have an R33 GTST and love it. I love the wifes stocko as well.....If you have the money I would get an R34 GTT. Go for unmodded or basic exhaust and filter.... as it reduces the chance of getting one thats been flogged off its T!ts(doesnt really but gotta have a better chance). Shop around and get them checked right out...... BUT I WANT AN R34 GTR BUT WIFE SAYS NO(Divorce coming I think lol) -
Guys I thought it might be a good idea to have a for sale classifieds section in the motorsport section for both sponsors and private car parts, tyres etc that are only relevant to motorsport as it would be beneficial to those wanting to get into motorsport etc. Only a suggestion Cheers Bill (Imtorqing)

Anyone Run Sprints With Their Hybrid
Imtorqing replied to Imtorqing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for your help guy's, your feedback is appreciated. I will do a search a track down one of these UK GTR sites and ask around. Yeh I cant fault my builder as I value their feedback and they are trying to look after me and my motor. I have long service up next year for three months so I think I will get another job and get the rebuild done then. Current redline is 7500rpm (set on the Haltech) which I think is conservative as it is still making power all the way to redline I think 8 wouldnt have been out of the question but being a hybrid with the longer stroke this is what was recommended. Unfortunately I only got one dyno sheet and don't have one with RPM. The cars a bit of a slug unless you intentionally launch it as I do get boost and wheel spin in first gear. It really starts coming into its own at around 80k's. I will be running it at the drugs in the coming weeks but none of my shifts currently fit in(I get a month ahead) with Willowbank's dates. I still love her like nothing else but every now and then I wouldn't mind a bit of all paw. Cheers Bill -
Anyone Run Sprints With Their Hybrid
Imtorqing replied to Imtorqing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have attached the dyno print out (on 18psi without the cam gears touched yet. Hopefully that will bring it on a bit quicker). Basically what I have been told is the problem they are finding is with the RB30 Block as this generally is not a problem with 26's and 25's. Apparently when under full load and race conditions (Pulling good G forces whilst ringing the t!ts off it) the block is liable to flex or something to that effect which can/does affect the oil delivery to the main bearings etc (They modify the RB30 crank to give the big ends 360 degree oiling when making their hybrids to increase oil delivery as only RB26's and SR20's from GTIR Pulsars have this as they were built with racing in mind). Apparently they tried various things to do with oil delivery like bigger sumps, high volume pumps, dry sumps etc but the motors were coming back with the same problems. They have since found that a custom made girdle has stopped this problem as it strengthens/better braces the block. The problem is ; New girdle is custom made and currently they don't have a price but could be anywhere up to 3g's. New girdle means line boring the block again which requires complete stripping of the motor and basically rebuilding the engine, new rings, bearings, gaskets etc etc. Then for circuit work (I wanted to do it as much as I could) they recommend a Greddy, Tomei or similar high volume pump etc etc apparently $2200 of which I currently have an N1. So basically it would cost me in the vicinity of another 10 g's give or take a grand. They have stated that I have a BULLET PROOF STREET ENGINE meaning not a problem running straight lines and the odd corner or corners but race constant conditions are a completely different kettle of fish. I was pretty bummed out and think I will be saving up for a bit as I really want to do circuit and basically the amount of work that has been done to my motor cancels out any chance of starting over as the parts are not interchangeable. My motor was built back in 2004 when they were still relatively new. I don't hold any grudges against my engine builder(I LOVE THEM BIG TIME IN A NON GAY TYPE) as they have done awesome work, my motors have never missed a beat and have gone like a rockets. Basically I just wanted to see if any other people had their hybrid fail and if they would share their failure. -
Hey guys just wondering if anyone here has run their hybrids at sprint meets. I contacted my engine builder for a check regarding oil issues before I went out and was warned about going 100 percent flat out as they had a number of hybrids that after doing track work have come back with main bearing problems. Anyway interested to hear from the community. Cheers Imtorqing

The main pro would be WARRANTY vs no warranty. You pay big dollars you would want some reassurance.

COURTESY OF GOOGLE AND WIKIPEDIA 5th generation (1999–2002) Fifth generation An R34-generation Skyline GT-R V-Spec Production 1999-2002 Assembly Tochigi, Tochigi, Japan Body style(s) 2-door coupe Layout Front engine, rear-wheel drive / all-wheel drive Engine(s) 2.6 L I6 Transmission(s) 6-speed manual The GT-BNR34 (R34) Skyline GT-R and GT-R V-spec models were released in January 1999. The R34 GT-R was also made to be shorter (from front to rear), and the front wheels were made closer to the front. The valve covers were also painted glossy red, rather than dull black. A new feature on the R34 GT-R is a 5.8" LCD multifunction display on the center of the dashboard, which shows seven different live readings of engine and vehicle statistics such as turbocharger pressure (1.2 bar max), oil and water temperature, among others. The GT-R V-spec model added two extra features to the display: intake and exhaust gas temperatures. Nismo Multi-function Displays (MFD)can be bought at an extra cost, they include a lap timer and an increase in boost pressure measurement to 2 bar. R34 rears are longer than previous models. Like the R33, the new R34 GT-R V-spec models come equipped with the ATTESA E-TS Pro system and an Active LSD at the rear, while standard GT-R models come with the non-Pro system and a conventional mechanical differential. The V-spec model also had firmer suspension, and lower ground clearance. The V-spec model also included a plastic front air diffuser (covering the underside of the engine), and also a rear carbon fiber air diffuser, designed to keep air flowing smoothly under the car. Another special model of the R34 GT-R is the M-spec. It was similar to the V-spec, but had special "Ripple control" dampers and a leather interior with heated front seats. At the time of the R34's release, like the R32 and R33, Nissan released an R34 N1 model. The R34 GT-R N1 was equipped similar to the R32 and R33 N1 models - a homologation special. It was sold without ABS, air conditioning, audio equipment, rear wiper, or carpet in the trunk. The new R34 N1 was also given the new R34 N1 engine. Only 45 R34 N1 models were produced from the factory, 12 of which were used by Nismo for Super Taikyu racing. The rest were sold to various customers, mostly racing teams, and tuning garages. In August 2000, Nissan released a newer V-Spec II GT-R model. The V-Spec II has increased stiffness in the suspension (even stiffer than the original V-spec) and had larger brake rotors on the rear. It also comes equipped with a carbon fiber hood, which is lighter than the aluminum that all other GT-R hoods are made from. Also different on the V-Spec II was an iridium center console and aluminium pedals. The seats were also made with black cloth rather than the gray cloth used on previous R34 GT-R models, and the amber turn lenses were replaced with white versions. From this point on the standard trim level GT-Rs and V-Specs also received these updates, with the exception of the carbon fiber bonnet. In February 2002 Nissan released a final production model of the R34 GT-R called the Nür. Nissan also released a limited Manufacturer Special model designated the M-Spec. This came in two forms, the base M-Spec, and the Nür. The Nür was sold in 2 different models: the Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür and the previously mentioned Skyline GT-R M-spec Nür. The Nür was named after the famous German Nürburgring racetrack, where the Skyline was developed. The Nür model featured an improved RB26DETT based on the N1 racing engine, used by Nismo in Motorsports. The V-spec II Nür is based on the regular V-spec II model, and the M-spec Nür was based on the regular M-spec model. Other than the addition of the Nür engine, the Nür models also included a different color of stitching on the interior trim, as well as a speedometer reading up to 300 km/h (186 mph).

I would only have a mod plate as back up if you cut a hole in your car. If you dont cut you dont need one..... Depending on your power output I would just go the Greddy LS. Ive got a no name kit on my 525rwhp R33 and its been going great guns. Call Steve from Motion Garage 0407672023 as he does awesome work (Did both exhausts (Stainless) and cooler fitments (beautiful welding on pipes which are custom made) on both of my cars). He has also fitted heaps of kits like the Greddy Kits that are fixed without holes. He is also be good for advice on what you want and is unbelievably affordable. I got quoted $1300 for a mild steel exhaust system and he did a custom made full stainless system for the same price and my power outputs have been awesome with no restriction.

S L Race Fabrications 24 Tradelink Rd Hillcrest, QLD 4118 (07) 3800 8495 Scott does awesome work and has had a number of cars featured in magazines etc (installed seatbelts and a support bar for kiddy seat mounts in my wifes EH wagon). Expect to pay around $2500 for a steel half cage created and fitted but it will be legal and ANDRA approved so you wont have problems from the PO PO. You can shop around but i was disappointed to find that they were not cheap...... Cheers Imtorqing

Front Mount Intercooler's are legal and you can have them placed on your mod plate paperwork (Although there is not a specific code for them it shows confirms that it has been installed in accordance with good engineering practice). YOU MUST NOT cut through the front reo bar as it is illegal as it compromises the structural integrity of your front bar. You can make cuts through the body where they are cut for a GTR as the body shell is generic (I have helped someone on here forward a letter to Qld Police for a defect of the same nature and had it pulled as a result) My tip is to buy a Greddy (or similar type) front mount kit that is fitted without any cutting as that is what I will have for my wifes car. Coilovers are fine as long as your car is legal height as I have never heard of police defecting someone over coilovers except in circumstances where they were too stiff.

Photo's now up. NOTE - The paint being BLACK and parked outside in the open, NEEDS A BUFF as after I washed it I can see fine scratches all over it (That's what you get with black). I can factor this into the pricing and have it done before receiving if wanted. Also the key mark is not massive as it is quite thin but it is just enough that to fix it properly you would need to give it a spray over. The wheels are WORK REZAX wheels and the tyres are actually 235 fronts and 255 backs. Car is getting serviced tomorrow as its latest five thousand k's are up. We bought the car about a year ago and have racked up 10k since ownership (wife drives it to and from work and thats about it). We changed the oil and filter when we bought it, again at 125k and now at 130k. Also wife said that the window was working the other day but has stopped again. Seems to look like a switch problem. Anyway I believe this car is priced well to sell and am giving Skylines Australia a go before I go to carsales etc. Also I have the standard airbox as the previous owner had the pod on when I bought it. Not desperate or in a hurry to sell so please no stupid offers......... Cheers Bill (Imtorqing)

Guy's, Selling the wifes R33 Series 1 GTST M SPEC (MANUAL) as we have four cars and need to cull it to two (she gets to drive the 4cyl 4wd lol). ****Also getting rid of an EH Wagon if anyone knows someone interested in an old school cruiser.**** WHATS GOOD - ; Stock standard (so not boosted or thrashed), Trust front lip, 17 inch Black Works Rims with Red ring around outside with 245/17's with about 95% tread (wife and I couldn't drop a skid if we tried), Kakimoto Exhaust (nice note- never been hassled by the po po), Braced Apexi Pod Filter, has a nice looking grill which I don't believe is standard and also. Sony headunit and pioneer speakers. Interior is pretty clean, has factory skyline floor mats but also could do with a clean (We have three kids and two little kids and this is the wifes daily). KILOMETERS - Car is a bee's d!ck away from 130k. WHATS BAD - Front drivers door window stopped working about two weeks ago (I haven't bothered having it looked at despite the wife's pleads). It went up and then hasn't moved since. Top of steering wheel is dry and cracked, Front lip has scratches and some cracks as women don't know how to drive in and out of driveways lol. Unbeknown to us when we bought it (As I looked at it on a late Saturday Arvo, drove it and then picked it up on a Monday) some bast@rd had keyed the car about a third down the left side which was touched up by the previous owner (Visible when closer to the car) and cuz it gets stored outside in the open the Paint could do with a buff. I can arrange getting the side where the key mark is resprayed and a full car buff for about $700. LOCATION - Browns Plains, Logan, Brisbane RWC - will be included as car drives like a dream and has no mechanical problems whatsover. Just about to have a service Oil and Filter & plugs PRICE - $10,000 slight movement possible as I can source stock wheels and roadworthy tyres as I would be happy to keep the wheels for my car to use on the track. Also comes with 6 months rego. PHOTO'S - Coming just gotta give her a tub CONTACT - PM or phone text Bill on 0422886721
