  1. I thought I would put up an information post for the Queensland Guys so they are aware of what can happen when pulled over by the Po Po as some of the old wives tales I see posted up have me in stitches . ****NOTE YOU WILL BE SENT TO COURT BY NOTICE TO APPEAR AND IMPOUNDMENTS WILL OCCUR REGARDLESS IF YOU ARE DRIVING FRIENDS AND OTHER FAMILY/BUSINESS CARS INCLUDING FULLY LOADED SEMI TRAILERS (HAS HAPPENED)***** The Type 2 offences came in officially all over Queensland in July this year. They were already in play in Logan and Ipswich prior to. Type 1 are commonly referred to Hoon type offences. A type 1 vehicle related offence means any of the following offences committed in circumstances that involve a speed trial, a race between motor vehicles, or a burn out— (a) an offence against the Criminal Code, section 328A (DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE) committed on a road or in a public place; (b) an offence against the Road Use Management Act, section 83(CARELESS DRIVING); © an offence against the Road Use Management Act, section 85(STREET RACING); (d) an offence against the Road Use Management Act involving wilfully starting a motor vehicle, or driving a motor vehicle, in a way that makes unnecessary noise or smoke.(BURNOUT) YOU COMMIT ONE OF THE ABOVE AND YOUR CAR IS IMPOUNDED FIRST GO Type 2 offences relate to the following but personally I dont really align with Hooning Offences (Defective is the only one impacting on modified Car owners) Driving an Unregistered and Uninsured Motor vehicle on a road. Classification of Unregistered - one minute after midnight of the day that the registration expires Classification of Uninsured - Registration expired more than 30 days as you are no longer covered by third party compulsary insurance which is an offence under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 NOTE : VEHICLE MUST BE BOTH UNREGISTERED AND UNINSURED TO BE CLASSIFIED AS A TYPE 2 OFFENCE Unlicenced driving - Includes Court Disqualification, Demerit points suspection, Spers Suspension(Failing to pay for your tickets), High Speed Suspension(Getting done doing over 40kph). Failing to provide a specimen of breath or Saliva - Failing to provide a specimen of your breath for a roadside breath test or saliva for a roadside Drug test. Driving etc. while under the influence of Liquor or Drug - Over .15 % (Legal limit is .05%) Driving whilst under a suspension relating to drink driving or drug driving - A notice issued by the arresting officer after your found to be over .15% etc which is an immediate suspension until first appearance in court. Drive defective Vehicle - (a) the motor vehicle (including its equipment) being modified in a way that required the owner to ensure that the modification had been approved under the Road Use Management Act; or (b) the motor vehicle (including its equipment) being modified so that driving the motor vehicle on the road is an offence under the Road Use Management Act. TYPE 2 IMPOUNDMENTS AND FORFEITURES ETC IF YOU GET DONE ONCE FOR A TYPE 2 YOU ARE RECORDED AS A ZERO OFFENCE NO IMPOUNDING OF YOUR VEHICLE. THE SECOND TIME YOU GET DONE YOUR VEHICLE CAN BE IMPOUNDED BUT IT HAS TO BE A SECOND TIME COMMITTING THE SAME OFFENCE IE TWO TIMES DONE FOR UNLICENCED DRIVING. THIRD OFFENCE - IMPOUNDMENT AND APPLICATION FOR THREE MONTHS IMPOUNDMENT CAN BE MADE. FOURTH TIME - IMPOUNDMENT AND APPLICATION CAN BE MADE FOR YOUR VEHICLE TO BE FORFEITED TO THE STATE TYPE 1 IMPOUNDMENTS AND FORFEITURES ETC FIRST OFFENCE - VEHICLE IMPOUNDED SECOND OFFENCE - VEHICLE IMPOUNDED AND APPLICATION FOR THREE MONTHS IMPOUNDMENT CAN BE SOUGHT THIRD OFFENCE - IMPOUNDED AND APPLICATION FOR FORFEITURE OF YOUR CAR TO THE STATE CAN BE MADE. FOR TYPE 2 OFFENCES P.S Defective Vehicles is a bit of a bugger. Basically you can get defected for say a broken headlight the first time. Then you can be defected for say the car being too low and that is your second and then they could defect you for a completely different thing the third and fourth times but it still fits under defective vehicle. I think it should have been same defect each time. Cheers Imtorqing
  2. Matouks 9 second record holding standard RB25 Five Speed gearboxed VL was fitted with a JIM BERRY "SINGLE PLATE" CLUTCH and as you can imagine pushes out massive ponies without a failure. When my twin plate goes a Jim Berry Single will be its replacement. What happened to Noel's clutch is the worst I have heard and am thankful as im sure everyone else is that he still has his legs. Bottom Line is up to Noels incident JIM BERRY has and is always highly regarded for his clutches and quality of build. Ive been on a number of forums and never heard a bad thing about him or his clutches.
  3. With a flame like that u have now qualified to put the words Jet in ur number plate lol
  4. I know what you mean. When I bought it I was like "Love it I havent seen another like it" then Im seeing blue ones all over the place. Its Mazda 6 Blue........ When I had mine dynoed at Competition, I grabbed a bite to eat and a guy rocked up in an R33 which was almost identical except his front plate was to the side and I had to look twice......
  5. Here's a pic of mine. It looks and goes alright
  6. Dont get a chip unless it is on the dyno when they do the tune for the chip.........Skimp here and you may well blow your engine as there are a number of elements that need to be taken into account. A powerfc is your best bet for a mild modded car as it will still be there when you want to push your motor further. I have a mate with a RB25, 35/40 turbo, bigger injectors etc with over 400rwhp(Obviously upgraded airflow meters etc) and it runs like a factory tune compared to my Haltech. I would put up how much u want to spend here otherwise u r wasting peoples time as the all mighty dollar will govern what advice people will offer.......
  7. Finally Nissans Reply to Porsche....... http://carsguide.news.com.au/site/motoring...?referrer=email
  8. Suddenly the claims of porsche having trouble getting out of third with the gtr has merit. If u paid this much money for a car then u should be able to drive it like u stole it when u want to.They obviously made it with the weak gearbox. Nissan need to Fix the problem and look after u r clientel b 4 they send the GTR name into the toilet. Supercar my ass!!!!!!I have become a fan of skylines in the last year or so but reading this is garbage. As a supercar it should be able to take a licking and keep on ticking. I would be loading up with ammo and going to my dealership if they gave me this answer. Hopefully they have the problem fixed b 4 u aussies get a hold of one. They should have disabled the ability of the LC from factory if it would void the warranty. its like getting the atomic bomb but being told that u have voided the warranty after u pressed the redbutton. BS to the max.
  9. Loved the 32 Ute drifting, it looked awesome. All of them look awesome as utes as a matter of fact...........I can see bogans calling them Rice paddock bashers though lol Imagine a choice other than a holden or ford fast ute OMG !!!!! another way we can thrash bogans at their own game lol
  10. The only time I ever heard anything in relation to speed limited police vehicles were the old BMW motorbikes. They were not recommended to travel above 130 because of the saddle bag set up but that's complete bollocks about the cars. When a pursuit is terminated police are pull to the side of the road and come to a complete stop. They are then supposed to carry out a test of equipment over the vehicle. Police can do whatever speed they want but must justify their decisions should anything go wrong as they are always held accountable. Any pursuit where a police vehicle goes over 30kph above the speed limit must be investigated.
  11. If you had to drive a Holden or Ford around all day you wouldn't be happy would you Go to Logan and see how nice they treat you there..........I hear the attitude of Logan police to modified car owners and just generally are the worst......If your dealing with scumbags all day everyday you would find it hard not to become jaded...... I dont think things getting heated in your workplace compares to being a police officer....... There are good ones around but their usually the ones that drive past and dont pull you over, so you dont get to see them......
  12. I agree. If you were drifting through a school zone at 3:00pm then I would be the first to hold you while they bend you over lol :laughing-smiley-014: but just driving into a carpark and getting picked for this is garbage . Best of luck TOMMAH and keep us posted as we all love it when someone is trying to beat the system .
  13. Who needs a house, I could live out of one of those !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excuse me I have to go to the toilet......Ill be back in mmmmmm about 5 minutes lol
  14. Im sure a compression test will show all is good . As long as you have a good tuner the old girl will take a licking and keep on ticking. I have a mate with over 400rwhp(Garrett 35/40) on a stock motor and has been running his setup for almost two years now without a problem. He always get his tuned by Matty SPRY from PITTS though who is a pretty well renowned tuner though. Oh and thats with a powerfc . Get a heavy duty clutch and the flywheel machined and then u will be set for any future mods.
  15. My money is on your plugs being fowled. Mine with a custom computer and Sard's(got retuned but needs another cold start tune done) will fowl after only a couple of starts and a few moves around. The other day was the worst I have seen it as I left it at a mates for a buff and polish. They called me stressing cuz they thought they did something real bad cuz it wouldnt run for more than ten seconds. I jumped in and it took me a while to get it to idle for a minute or so cuz it kept dying. The only way I worked it out was get in, crank it and start it and then pumping the pedal in and out(By feel) trying to stop it from dying(It wouldnt rev past 3 grand which I was worried about) and then eventually It came good and I could give it a good rev. I then had to take it out and give it a good run around the block before the plugs come good. If u can get it started I would do what I just outlined feathering the throttle without it dying and when it will take a good rev take it for a drive and give it a good boot around block. Then it should run good as gold. When you go away from factory specs they can become temperamental as sh!t and just starting it once a week will make it foul it really needs a good run around the block. Let us know how you go and hopefully I have helped anyway. Cheers Bill (Imtorqing)
  16. lol man that is my biggest worry when di(king around with my wiring. Atleast it was just the cigarette lighter hey. The mechanic who helped build the R33 I currently own tried to hook up the previous owners gauges and tacho and blew the dash and tacho. The tacho was one of those splitfire one's with multiple gauges and flames and IT ACTUALLY CAUGHT FIRE. The guy I bought the car off was sh!tting his pants(and I understand) as he thought the mechanic had just fried the haltech but thank Fu(k he didnt. Anyway sorry to hijack and good luck.
  17. Sounds like clutch to me. The wifes EH is doing it atm(I know its an excellent comparison) and I hope it doesnt get any worse as it has on her car only when going to take off. I was told its the clutch by my mechanic. How olds your clutch and do u give it a workout. Bloody clutches !!!!!!! my twin plate is starting to make funny noises too......
  18. What he said !!!!!! Although I see that Nengun have nearly four grand for the five gear set with strengthened input shaft.
  19. If you have the money I would go with Dunlop SP3000's (Standard fitment on FPV's, Usually about 1g for all four fitted and balanced). They were excellent in both wet and dry on my commodore with absolutely no tyre noise. I have had nankangs (not NS2) on cars previous and made noise. R33 has NS2's on the rear and continentals on the front (Handles like u wouldnt believe in dry anyway). I used Federals on my commodore previously as the guy from Tyreselect said they came of the same line as Dunlops and they were great but on my wifes impreza had tyre noise like a mofo. Missus has MAXXIS(Bobjane brand they stock) on her line and they have been great in both wet and dry but you do get tyre noise every now and then. Up to you......my parents swear by Kumho's...... Hope that makes it clear as mud
  20. Best of luck in future events Beau as you are doing what many of us dream of doing and the same to AMEC for giving you the sponsorship.
  21. Only if you cut through the supports. If you want venting go with a carbon fibre item http://www.blitsbodykits.com.au/index.php?pr=NISSAN_BONNETS and they are 100% Police friendly . Im saving and will eventually have one. Will cost about the same to have yours cut and shut.
  22. SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
  23. Had both 25/30 400rwhp with 35/40 .82rear & 26/30(Currently 524rwhp 42R). Personally if that is the power u r chasing I wouldnt bother going with the hybrid. A decent rebuild on a 26 would be better (Excellent motor, already forward facing plenum and excellent throttle and responsive as hell with a high redline. Hybrids are generally 7500rpm and torquey as a mofo) and dont be scared to get a big Huffer. With head work the 42R is an awesome turbo for track work and has a lot more to go. You need machining of the crank for the 25 and 30 to allow 360 degree oiling of your big ends(Good Insurance) which the RB26 has as standard as it was built with that extra power in mind. In the end the price for either hybrid will be around the same if u shop around and stay smart. Hope you have big pockets. Good Luck Personally if u have the money get a 2J (As I duck for cover)
  24. Make it 150 and u have a deal....... I want it gone but not that bad
