  1. OK... a few facts about the upgrade; this is what went into the car (in no particular order): * Bosch 040 Fuel Pump * Nismo Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator * Hybrid Dual Stage EBC with Overboost * Davies Craig Transmission Cooler * Custom Cold Air Intake * Replacement of most lines/hoses inside engine bay * Custom fuel intake for the 040 * Blue CCFL Tube (to show it off at night ) The turbo was from Aaron @ Sliding Performance. I told him what I wanted to achieve, and then he built me a turbo In that sense you could call it a custom hi-flow turbo; but when you look at it in comparison to the stock turbo there are huge differences just visually I might leave the details of the turbo for the time being as I am not 100% sure myself. All I know is that Aaron took a long time perfecting it and it goes WOOSSH Will try to get some photos up real soon
  2. That I have to see... though I think your 3cylinder beast will have some trouble spoolin' the turbo
  3. Yes it is, all cleaned up and ready to go
  4. Need to get a tune first... then we think about it Since I took two days off work to finish the car last week; I am now paying for it by having to do a TONNE of work for tomorrow Oh well, the prices you pay for satisfaction
  5. Haha; all I shall say that is was a very very "colourful" bunch Took some photos of the produce but I think I'll keep em to myself And NO picsorban on this one

  10. I actually caught the half way show of this cruise... turned out to be quite impressive! How many cars were at Palmy Rubber burning at the end wasn't too hot, neither was sitting in the car park queue for 20minutes Overall, a good range of cars and a good time had by all Didn't see many SAU boys there though...
  11. Colours Changed... just for you Links
  12. Nice one... my install went in the same place as yours; in between the radiator and the FMIC (basically in the stock location). Using the radiator cover panel I should be diverting a lot of cool (well colder) air into all three items Nice job on the install, hope for your sake it doesn't bottom out

  14. I have some stock R34 parts after my turbo upgrade if you are interested...
  15. Yeah, Stan and Mitch (my mechanic) were running a little late... only managed to get the car back together around 7, met up with the local crew, washed the car and then roared to Newport Not bad timing though, got there just as people were digging into the their Italian meals Go the burnouts at the carpark And I hope that paddy wagon wasn't too much trouble. Saw him going past when we left Palmy
  16. Yeah today went really really well... except for the ribbon on my car (damn mechanic, should never let them try staying clean) Congratulations Chris, hope you and your lovely wife have many many many fruitful memories and years to come It was really really nice to have a whole procession talking about cars after the ceremony I thoroughly enjoyed that, and as Dave said... thanks to Chris for letting us join on his special day!
  17. OK fine, when we all attend the next whore session, MAR55S can hug everyone WOOT! Just got back fron Newcastle run, and very pleased to say that the turbo spools / boosts very very hard. Very responsive on tap from about 2800rpm Time to get a Fuel Cut Defender so I can remove this stupid fuel cut and boost to the turbo's efficiency range! Wink; won't be getting a tune until the FCD goes in which will be next week sometime. There's really no point getting it done before then as I'll only be able to boost it to 13 psi before the car's automated protection system kicks in and drains all the fuel / power. Cheers Stan EDIT: John, we'll get some photos up soon
  18. Good to see you guys again... sorry we left so early, have a wedding to attend today and was thoroughly buggered last night after putting the car back together Looked like a good turn out anyways, well done!
  19. You want photos of the CAI or the whole mumma John
  20. Hey Chris, we from Sydney are GOOD TO GO! Big story to tell once we're there... my number is 0415 263 309 please give me a call when you read this to see where we are and if there are any delays. If any of the other guys could pass this onto Chris if you know him that would be good, I know he must be busy this morning!
  21. Trent + Stan Mitch Trent + Stan
  22. OK, now before everyone comes up with smartass comments about this, it's not an advertisement for any workshop (as there isn't one), it's just a big vote of thanks to a few people. As many of the regulars know, I've been doing a turbo upgrade over the last month... sourcing parts, doing research and most of all spending many hours piecing it all together. All up the process took about a month and it is finally complete as of 11/02/2006 - even got the timing just right for a Friday Night Pizza Cruise Now, I'd like to take this oppurtunity to thank a few people for their support, effort and advice... without any of you guys, this would not be at all possible at this pace and effect. 1) My Mechanic Mitch + GCWP Mitch has been the greatest mate/mechanic throughout all this... he's done 99% of the installs, 99% of the research and 0% of the sleeping I had absolutely no troubles trusting my car with him, and even though he's not the owner of a workshop/performance shop, his skills and knowledge are probably enough to rival most professionals. Thanks a bunch for everything you've done. 2) Trent (BMW Mechanic) Trent has also devoted quite a few long nights to this project and given some very useful advice. He made up a CAI from my stock intercooler parts which surprises all Most memorable of all are all the jokes/parodies that come out of Trent, makes working till 2am well worth it 3) Aaron @ Sliding Performance Aaron has been great with providing the turbo even with my constant naggin about the delays He's made sure it's perfect before it came down to Sydney and it is! Appreciate the tech advice too, and am pleased to say this new breed of turbo goes good! 4) Abo Bob - Adam Yes, I've been pestering Adam for information as well and he's been great with providing solid answers from experience with the R34 - thanks heaps champ! 5) Dave @ Envy Imports Cheers heaps for doing my oil lines for the new turbo... and also getting me some parts for dirt cheap through Autobarn Mitsubishi-san for life dude 6) Chris a.k.a. Craved Thanks for jumping in and giving quick answers/solutions to the coolant line drama... witht the ideas thrown around we got that sorted very quickly. That's 2 times I owe you now 7) Everyone Else Involved Yes, this one is for all those MSN mates, and whore buddies and anyone else who paid us a visit at the workshop And that about rounds it up, sorry if I missed anyone but I think 6) caters for that! I'll post photos of what we did over the new few days after the engine bays been given a clean, looks rather ghetto at the moment! Cheers S
  23. The Avoca Beach DVD is a full on driving video, the SnS one is exactly as how you have described it (there are very short bits of people driving into the show grounds)
  24. WOOT!!! Car has been finished All in time for the Friday night cruise as well Just like to thank everyone, especially Chris and Aaron for the very very good help and support throughout this! Thanks to everyone who threw ideas at me to try out! WIND UP THE BOOST NOW BIATCH! Chris; tune will most probably happen tomorrow or next week... maybe a bit too late to get a booking in.
  25. Well we just fitted one side of the turbo with the new bolts from Enzed coupled with 2 copper washers on each side of the banjo (one large and one small) Did a trial water into the radiator test and there is NO LEAKING! Thank god for Enzed
