  1. Yeah, so wasn't in the mood to be doing any photography etc hey.... was already really tired from having no sleep, car problems just made it worse. But it's all good now And for all those who were disappointed that the new hair dryer isn't in, just got some good news
  2. Hey even if my car is broken beyond repair, I'll still come along... I'll just watch and film some funnies for the memories
  3. And YES; even when leaking pressure the R34 makes it into the photos Cheers Links!
  4. Awesome day guys... well done to Steve n co. for putting it all together! As mentioned, event went down without a glitch and everyone was well behaved Top work! If only my car didn't screw up just before we left Homebush, the drive would've been a lot more fun! Goes to show you should never reassemble a car at 3am in the morning BTW; thanks goes to Craved, Mintie, ECL, and Links for the technical support and tools once we arrived (drive home was so much better ).
  5. Super Tanker Also, if anyone has a 5L jerry can they could bring along that would be good, I am very concerned about this new fuel pump, we haven't actually tested out what the fuel intake does when the meter gets low
  6. Well just confirming that I'll be there tomorrow... the car has been hurriedly put back together for it Only managed to get half the stuff in for tomororw And it hasn't all been tested yet, so I doubt I'll be doing much "spirited" driving Steve - there is every chance my mechanic will be coming too, but don't worry about food we'll sort that out!
  7. If someone can lend me a drive shaft for the TL-01 chasis, I'll bring my beast along... I think I've stripped a few gear teeth on the old one
  8. I think it's all quite subjective... I never really liked it until I met a friend who's one of Sydney's famous "old-school" writers... [writing name JIESK if it rings a bell] After seeing some of the work they do and listening to how they do it; it's a shame that some of it isn't preserved for public viewing. I must admit though, walking through the city and seeing stupid squiggles as "tags" is just stupid. It ruins the scenery if you can even call it that
  9. Thanks SK... Well my mate is playing around with it today; I'll see what he comes up with, apparently got some fancy hose from Enzed and says it'll do the job If not, I guess we're going to mix n' match!
  10. So what's the trick? Should I extend the intake hose that we've fabricated? Or simply lower the pump further into the tank? Option 1 will be easier... I would've thought that less surging would occur if the pump was lower into the tank???
  11. Oh, for that grille... pop down to your local autoshop... there is some "full sik" grilles you can buy Otherwise, go to your hardware/gardening place... black mesh can be purchased for cheap!
  12. Haha; I have insider information.... and sif the bridesmaids want to travel in a boat The whole idea of this cruise is to DRIVE them to the church EDIT: Yes, Eric does swing both ways... ain't that right Eric
  13. Oh forgot to add that the surge effect was experienced going at 80km/hr up hill through a sweeping left turn. Fuel tank was at the half way mark if that is any indication. If anyone can shed some light, or even direct me to somewhere that shows exactly how to fit the fuel suction thing (fabricated I assume) I'll be most appreciative
  14. Can anyone shed some light on how to effectively mount a Bosch 040 into a R34GTT? I've got one in there at the moment, but after going for a test run last night there was some surging. Problem is that the stock pump uses a "sock" which WILL NOT go onto the 040 due to size differences. Sorry to rob the thread but yes, any help is good.
  15. I think I'll mention a few points that have been missed out in the discussion so far; I signed my policy at 19, have a R34 insured for $30k and paid $2455 with JCI. They put me on a 40%NCB, I have had no records anywhere (crashes, police or insurance for that matter). Points to note: 1) Have you played around with the options you choose on the insurance; things that are factory options on the Skyline are sometimes classified as "aftermarket" (e.g. air con etc) I reduced my premium by $500 just by explaining to the person that all the electronic features were standard! 2) Where abouts do you live... I have a mate with the same car and our premiums are a few hundred dollars different all because of where you live. High crime areas are always going to be subject to higher premiums obviously. * Remember, insurance companies work on one thing only - statisitics! 3) Another point; it probably doesn't help that you bought a R33... as mentioned above, the statistics would show quite a lot of accidents related to them. The R34 received a lower premium IMO purely because there was less information for them to work with. 4) You could try go for one of those companies that let you insure the car on specific days of the week (ie weekend driving only or simliar). This option is probably not as good unless you are truthful on the matter. I also read that you are working an after-school job with about 5.5 large per annum. Not meaning to sound harsh, but I personally think you will struggle with that if you choose to finance the car and running costs yourself. As you said, rego and insurance will take half of that amount. Dont forget maintenance and fuel - let's not even talk about mods Hope that makes sense
  16. In 1 week I will have a perfect R34 standard turbo... message me if you're interested.
  17. As previously discussed Chris; the bridesmaids WILL be riding in the 34 Eric has also kindly offered to drive all the best men around town
  18. What was done to the gearbox Adam? The estimate that I posted was based on a conversation with one of the mechanics; mentioned stuff like replacing most of the gearbox components with much stronger stuff. At the end of the day, he said the gearbox has very much not been "re-built" but "replaced" You reckon he was pulling my leg?
  19. Well there you have it... not only from my trap, but from someone elses' PM me if anyone is interested; turbo is in perfect condition and comes out of the car tomorrow
  20. Man, I opened this thread thinking it was another my Skyline beat your Commowhore reading... Sorry to hear, hope it all works out for you. The insurance company should be able to locate all the parts for you... I'd hope so anyway for the amounts some of our premiums are
  21. Well when I sold mine... first question people asked was whether or not it had the Red writing on it; beats the hell outta me why? It had to go, wouldn't fit back on my car... unlike choyda's!!! Stop spying!
  22. Haha, how much of this upgrade and all future upgrades do you think I will document Eric... Getting to 200 was the easy part, the rest is for me to know, my mechanic to know, and my tuner to know
  23. I'm on 200rwkw right now and I've spent about $1500 on performance mods Installations included as they are mostly paid with lunch and/or beer.
  24. LOL but that is the easy way out don't you think...
