  1. there are companies which specialise in superchargers. go through your yellow pages and find one and given them a call and have a chat about your options. i'm sure they will let you know all that you have to do. SC can't be too bad of an idea if mercedes chooses them over turbo's. also many american professional drag cars use superchargers because of their low-down torque and power. would be great to see a SC skyline zoom past any gtst and do well against a gtr!
  2. anyone???
  3. its VERY hard ...and i stress the very... to remove the headlight from the car it took me hours and i gave up in frustration. Best find small hands like blind_elk said!
  4. wouldn't cost that much its only a small pipe! when i had my last car (ma70 supra) i went to an exhaust shop and the guy made up a 2.5 inch exhaust for $300 which included a muffler and bolted onto the cat. i would expect a muffler shop / exhaust shop to make one custom for $100-150
  5. where is the boost solenoid located on an r32 gtst? i canna seem to find the bitch!
  6. can you go to an exhaust shop and get them to bend you a dump pipe frm a 3" piece of metal just like they can do for an exhaust? i thought that would be cheaper...
  7. i had this thought after reading all your posts. please don't make an idiot of me if this idea is stupid as i have never heard anyone mention it or anything. an intercooler works just like a radiator right? except for air instead of water running through... so...why wouldn't a small electric fan from say a motorbike mounted behind the intercooler work to help increase the airflow over the stock intercooler? there is plenty of room after the 'cooler and it seems to be very efficient for a radiator so why not for the intercooler?? has anyone done this or tried it and removed because it was useless? any thoughts...
  8. don't u have a cefiro? these are for an r32...
  9. the ones on r32 are not as wide but the same hieght as the 33's
  10. i'm with just car $400 third party for P plater in r32gtst
  11. that's what i was trying to say in my sentence of rambling!
  12. took those strips over the top of the window of my car when i bought is. they still have the clips to attach them and seeing as i don't need them i thought i would put them here. any offers?
  13. hey guys, i just fitted a spoiler to my r32 gtst and now my boot won't stay open. OK so this would be an obvious thing to happen now that the boot is heavier but what i want to know if there is anyway that i can tighten the mechanism in the bood to make it stay open? any ideas would be great thaks. Waz.
  14. i sanded mine back to metal then gave it 4 coats of matt black and it came out good. Remember to spray it from about 20cm away (not too close) and in small movements rather than all in one go.
  15. you have to hope that the person at vicroads is not a tightarse and just agrees with whatever you said. I think all the weighing gets done at compliance so you probably need to get your importer to "modify" the weight before they register it initially. Not worth the hassle seriously...either take the risk or get an r32 turbo which is legal.
  16. jon, it doesn't matter how much weight you add as it goes by the tare weight on your rego sticker and what vicroads has in their computer. this is the weight of the car minus any liquids or anything when its made (or complied in this case). Even iff you add weight (like you do when you get into the car) it won't matter because the r33 engine is rated at 187kW and their tare weight is 1370kg. So if you want to get one then bite the bullet and hope you don't get tested. As for punishment if you do get caught (which seems to be pretty rare by the sounds of things) i'm not sure but i suspect a liscense suspension. Just cars will give you insurance with that car but rest assured that if you are in a crash then the insurance inspector will be pretty darn quick to point out that you are driving an illegal car and that you are not covered for the accident - and they may even tell the cops if its serious enough to get reported. btw...for sake of the thread i'm on my P's and i drive an r32gtst (which is legal). Used to have an 87 supra and learnt heaps on that before i got this beast. 1 year left and full liscense!
  17. i'm pretty sure you have the same box as r32 gtst. supercharging is easier and for fruitful (for performance) than a turbo that's for sure. you want some 'bads' abour supercharging - well yo will shread LOTS of rear tires!
  18. by the way its 125kw per tonne as the legal limit for P platers in Victoria. I had to do extensive searching before i bought my car as i drive approx. 90 km per day along major roads and have been pulled over 3 times for 'random liscence checks' in the 2 years i have had my liscense. the r32gtst is the best skyline for P platers as its 124.1 kw per tonne. It goes by tare weight not the actual weight and also by the engine's rated power, not the power its putting out. its all in the book you have to learn to pass the test.
  19. how much doe it cost to hi-flow the stock rb20 turbo?
  20. rev have you been to test out your car at the drags yet?
  21. how much (approx) does Dr Drift charge to re-map the stock ECU on an r32 gtst? will it provide a decent increase in aceleration or is it worthless?
  22. could it be the universal joint?
