  1. it is a pressure gauge: kg/cm^2 is a unit of pressure its NOT density or viscosity, but the pressure is related to viscosity thus why the pressure drpos when the oil is warm synthetic oils will run at lower pressures due to high viscosity
  2. roatry info is in the current issue of 'speed' magazine which is an awesome read...
  3. how do the old pulsar ET turbo's go? what motor do they have in them and would they beat an r32gtst?
  4. well porche has one nice mofo of an engine in its strainght 6 and so does BMW with their m3 straight 6 and so does nissan with the rb's and so does toyota with their 2jz....i can see some sort of trend here... my bro's 85zx was a 3L v6 but could only make 160hp yet my old supra was a 3L straight 6 and made 200hp! and we all know there's nothing wrong with the power out of nissan engines! holden has a ***ed up v6 as does the magna so i base all my opinions on the evidence...
  5. remember at the end of the day they are driving a nissan pulsar and you are driving a SKYLINE! my bro always said: "its not how fast you get there, its how good you look getting there..."
  6. does that make it any better than synergy 8000 or BP ultimate? i seriously rekon there can't be that much difference as they are all 98RON. i get whatever is cheapest
  7. that's for sure... try about 1300kg Waz.
  8. if you have o/d on when on normal streets it changes up and down too often an also soemtimes runs at v.low rpm in some gears to the point that if you press the accelerator at all it will change down gears anyway i only use it above about 0-70kph coz i hate the fact that the gears change all the time for no reason. just my 2c...
  9. is it the same as r32? i think someone in "wanted to buy" section was after a stock r32 airbox... don't quote me on that but i think there was a thread there a few days ago...
  10. BP is usually 5ish cents cheaper where i get fuel (that's for 98RON not 96RON)
  11. if you know that dealers are more expensive then why would you bother with them?
  12. why is it that optimax seems to be at least 5c mroe expensive per litre than 8000 or ultimate? everyone i speak to swears by optimax but if they're all 98RON then i don't see how optimax could be that much better. must be good advertising techniques... i use 8000 because it is 300m away, and also because the BP near me only has 96RON stuff but next to uni has BP ultimate and after recently trying it i give it two thumbs up. Waz.
  13. yeah but would you trust someone who makes a commodore? i believe at the bare minimum a minute or so to give time for the oil to get around the engine. i usually give it 3 - 5 mins and then drive easy 'till the gearbox warms up too. to me it doesn't seem like much if it will help at all to reduce wear. Waz.
  14. hey some west side boys... i never see many skylines around our area. i'm from taylors lakes.
  15. buy a skyline they're better...
  16. well the stock intercooler is exposed directly to the front, so it can't be that bad pending a HUGE rock or something that is just freakish anyway
  17. i don't have a silver r32 but i did go to overnewton who is this?
  18. i got a nice 'keyed' scratch fixed from this guy my dad knows. he is the owner of "Exotic Panels" and is name is Mohammed. he does jobs for SEI motors so knows his imports. when i went there to drop off my car he had 2 soarers a supra and an r33 out the front ready for jobs. the work was pretty good and it wasn't too expensive. its in dandenong and if you're interested look him up in the white pages and say you heard about his shop from Alan who has the hayabusa and who's son has an r32. Waz.
  19. and also service no later than every 5000 km regardless of what anyone says... you might want to clean the AFM and re-set the ecu while you're at it. it can't hurt anyway. Waz.
  20. for the r32: - oil filter: Z145A - fuel filter: Z387 - spark plugs: heat range of 6 gapped to 1.1 or 0.8 - don't forget antiboil/antifreeze at a 50:50 ratio - i don't know what oil is best but i use: penrite 15W60 semi-synthetic. apparently stands up v.good at the high temps produced by a turbo but also thin enough to flow properly. that's my 2c. hope it helps, HOTR33. i'm sure zdenko has more info to add on top of this... plus i'm not sure if this carries for the rb25 or just teh rb20. Waz.
  21. um if you are coming from sunshine ave and crossing over the ring road then it is on the left a couple of hundred meters past purple pig. dunno what its called. hope that helps. I asked tokoyo motors on ballarat rd and he directed me there but i never went as i rang and his price for a spoiler was a lot more than what i saw here on the forums. but he may have some parts you are after. good luck. Waz.
  22. i'm not looking to buy but thought i'd put in my 2c: that's bloody expensive for a VL
  23. there's a new place that opened up on mcintire road sunshine can't remember what its called or if the prices are good. i came across it when i was looking for a spoiler. waz.
  24. my dad has an 86 vette and can i say that they are fantastic cars to drive, and they look 3000 times better than an r32. i would still say go far a gtr as parts are more plentiful and nothing beats the build quality of a jap car compared to any american car. also vettes can show signs of their age while you would probably looking at a newer model if you got a gtr. just my 2c
