why don't u hi-flow your thrashed stock SII turbo rather than buying a new turbo with the same possibility of thrashing it again? if u do NEED a new turbo, based on the info provided by surreal i would say SI as ceramic impellers and can take higher boost before sh1tting itself Waz.

zahos, read the 'audi DIY boost control' article - sounds very simple actually. but would it still work with just the presure relief valve controlling wastegate creep and letting the stock solenoid control the boost pressure? might check around for some shops that sell these items for air compressors... Waz.

yeah auto sux but hey the car was cheap - couldn't get a manual for this price! i have the launches going pretty good at the moment by stalling the auto but i'm not sure if this is bad to do repetidly so i keep that in the bag for when i'm racing and i don't really practise.

i like penrite HPR15 which is semi-synthetic 15w60 good viscosity range and i don't give it 1km over 5000 before i change oil. also must change filter as well mate. Waz.

i'm looking for some sort of cheap upgrade for my r32gtst with cat-back and filter and CAI. i was thinking some sort of boost control but i don't wanna increase boost too much just bring it on a bit earlier. will a cheepo bleed valve-type boost controller be effective? (ie turbosmart) what about the idea in this autospeed article: http://www.autospeed.com/A_0028/cms/article.html ? will this bring boost on earlier and if so by how much. also (sorry about the many q's), where is the hose you attach the boost controller onto? how accurate is the stock boost gauge? i know its sh1t as everyone keeps saying but does it over-read or under-read or just read over/under as it feels? i wanna have an idea of what boost i'm running coz all i have is filter and cat-back zorst and according to my conversion its about 10psi but that's using the stock gauge and it has no boost controller. does this sound right? my car is auto as well so factor that into the equation what if the TX5 turbo is modded? my mate is thinking of buying one and i wanna rape his car before he can say a word! frosty, i am a full time student with no $$$ so my mods end where i see a price tag. the only thing i might consider is some kind of boost controller but would be one of the cheap (ie turbosmart) ones that are under $100. is this effective? what else could i do myself? i have drop in panel filter + CAI and i cut a hole behind the intercooler (replaced it with mesh so no rocks get in) thanks, Waz.

hi skyliners, i was wondering how fast some cars are from the lights as i am one of those people who hates to lose and i only really race if i think i am a chance. ah...um...of course i am referring to the people who have dragged these at the LEGAL drags not on the street from the lights...errr yes that'll do... 1990s TX5 turbo VT Commorore v6 magna 3.5 v6 1990s laser TX3 turbo how would i fare with my 32gtst? are there any other cars which i should watch out for other than the obvious 180's gtir's wrx's and the likes Cheers, Waz.

g'day skyliners, i have an r32 and i have a button on the top right of the instrument cluster that i think if for fog lights... but i have none. is the gtst suppost to have them standard? or is this button for something else... when i press it all the lights come on, and i also noticed 2 grey plugs next to the radiator that arent connected to anything...me thinks these are for the fog lights but its all speculation. what's the deal? thanks in advance, Waz.

nacional, i usually just give it from drive coz shifting manually still gives some delay and if you have floored it then it will change at the max itself not when u do it.

if looking for k&n they are mostly the same price across most shops. i rekon wait till suprecheap auto has one of those "20%-off-everything-in-the-store" sales which happens about once a month. then get one there and save about 30 bucks or so. by the way u do know that a pod is not roadworthy and that a simple drop-in filkter for the airbox flows just as good...don't u? Waz.

it doesn't rev out that much coz its a pushrod engine and not dual overhead cams like the skyline engine. thus, not efficient at high rpm. and turbo's work best at high rpm. this is why a turbo on a pushrod v6 doesn't sound very appealing but u can do whatever you want with the right $$$ so good luck to ya mate. i don't think the rubbish auto in most commo's would handle a tubo... what are the manual gearboxes like? also...no LSD + 3.8 turbo = absolutely no traction at all to the point of being rediculous

that's good coz my mate from work rekons his friend's ET turbo would rip my r32gtst. i didn't sy much coz u gotta be careful of small turbo cars (ie gtir pulsar). but now i will tell him what i think of that rubbish...!

i think its the individual petrol station owners that put the ethanol in rather than mobil corporation so it would depend on where you re-fuel at as to if its ethanol-free generally only the dodgy "citi fuel" or "fuel stop" etc. joints put ethanol in the fuel
