What non-performance car did you drive before?
WazR32GTSt replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in General Automotive Discussion
greg... you can't consider a hyundai a performance car...i don't care what body kit it has! -
Hey fellas....car buying decisions...*sigh*
WazR32GTSt replied to a topic in General Automotive Discussion
you need to learn how to drive before you start drifting etc... buy a NA car which is very forgiving for a young driver whilst saving for a monster GTR to get as soon as you get off your P's! -
my 2c: 180's look sh1t compared to skylines and silvia's look even worse so you should narrow it down to a 'line...hehe i actually looked at that skyline you linked to above about 2-3 months ago when i was looking for my car but the salesman was a d1ck and basically i didn't want a bar of him or his cars. It was about 14k by the time rego and compliance was added on. i ended up with an r32gtst for 11k after extensive looking. it has genuine 95,000k's and engine+trans in good nick. interior is also v.good. The reason it was cheap was it has no spoiler, side skirts, stereo, and was key'd (about 30cm long) on drivers side. Basically my point is that with the really bad used car market a car in mehanically good condition is available but you have to take your time and don't go for a 4cyl... Have you considered a soarer? can get ok cond one for 12k thesedays...

Some Weird Nob under my steering Wheel?
WazR32GTSt replied to Ash's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
yeah in the r32 the gear indicator is under the cluster behind (hidden by) the steering wheel... not that its important seeing as you should know whether your in drive or reverse! -
What non-performance car did you drive before?
WazR32GTSt replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Used to have a 1987 Toyota Supra NA on LPG - what problems that gave me... blew head gasket (v.common problem with them) and was burning oil. Looked the goods tho i rekon with targa top, lowered, exhaust and filter. r32 is better in almost any way i can think! mum has a r31 executive and its reliability was a main factor in chosing a skyline over the few soarer's and 180sx's i looked at... -
What happens when O2 sensor goes ta ta's
WazR32GTSt replied to Doctor's topic in General Automotive Discussion
where is the O2 sensor, and how do you clean it? -
Have I been ripped off? (100k Service)
WazR32GTSt replied to 2fardown's topic in General Maintenance
why not do yourself what you can and then get the mechanic to change what you can't - save yourself $$$ and you know exactly what goes in and how much it really costs rather than just what they have told you. i have a mechanic which i only go to if i can't do it myself (but he's a friend and does it cheap anway!) -
its definately under the bonnet on r32s because i recently changed mine. As for the sealed/unsealed i've never heard of that before...sounds interesting...if oyur battery is unsealed what would you consider an external vent to make it legal? Waz.

Throttle Position Sensor. My Fix. Problems Gone.
WazR32GTSt replied to Cubes's topic in General Automotive Discussion

anyone got more info on the location of this restrictor? or some pics? does it restrict air before it enters the turbo or boosted air after it leaves the turbo? coz if it is after then it will probably up the boost won't it? And for soemone running on 10psi (me!) that could mean turbo danger in the future if you rise again.

looking for a gtst wing coz of cost... think i may have found one but a deal isn't a deal till the money changes hands so anyone else got anything?

I posted a msg ages ago for this and got a response but that fell through and i can't find the original msg so i'll put it up again: i'm looking for a second hand spoiler from an R32 GTSt. Ok condition, any colour, in Melb, Syd, Bris, Perth. (Preferrably melb though). Thanks, Waz.

i think its 15deg on the R32...

Enrico, i have the stock cooler and i tried everything to find out how the air gets in and its not too efficient. I did this and it works real well: I took off the indicator, and doing this you can see the plastic piping that runs from the airbox. I used a drill to cut a large round hole into the side of this, and used an air compressor to blow away all the plastic dust. Then i put a piece of piping into the hole so that one end pokes out into the airbox and the other end runs out of the hole, and runs down to where the air enters for the intercooler. Here you can orientate it for the 'ram air' theory and secure it to anything you can. NB it doesn't block the intercooler at all. thought this seems relevant seeing as there is no where that describes a CAI setup for those using the airbox but still have the stock intercooler pipes in the way. Waz.

why not supercharge your NA engine? there are heaps of performance shops which will do this and you won't have to worry about lag...

insant - if you live near sunshine try 'purple pig' on mcintire road they have all sort of hoses and stuff...

i have a set of 6 injectors off my old MA70 supra which i realised were gathering dust as i just sold my car and no longer need these they are 380cc i'm pretty sure but i have no idea as to which cars they will fit onto if anyone is interested give me an offer...nothing stupid either cheers, Waz.
-
well i had some battery problems and changed that yesterday turns out the battery was the problem can i say that with a new battery the car cranks bloody fast compared to my old ma70 supra. i didn't even reaslie it was a slowish crank coz that seemed normal to me. starting is no problems now!

yeah 2.1 that wasn't an error...

Hey guys i have just tested my new r32gtst 0-100 time with my stopwatch (OK i know its not accurate but it gives a fair idea). I recorded low to mid 9 seconds! i read everywhere that it is suppost to be about 7ish seconds or is this right for an auto 32 gtst?? what could be wrong? i've cleaned afm, changed fuel filter, and i think spark plugs are in good order... it also has an exhaust but no aftermarket air filter (stock one but clean). no troubles with idle and it runs about 10ish psi of boost... any help please!
-
the injectors are fairly new so i don't think they are the cause... how do i clean the air regulator? Waz.
