  2. Well to tell you the truth.......... very slow at the moment I have half the parts i need, some are lost in the post and im waiting for more to be sent and my turbo has been queued for inspection and weighing at a transport company (now wish i ordered all the stuff through Morrie). I ordered all the stuff 2 weeks ago and had my mate organised to tig all the stainless pipework together this weekend. I decided to just run a 3" pipe off the turbo (GT3071R) for now with a 2" wastegate pipe plummed in just before the cat to keep costs down a bit, would have liked a new 4" stainless exhaust but cant afford to do it at the moment and dont really think ill need it and can always do it later. I will need to make 2 new intercooler pipes and a new air filter pipe for this turbo and i can tell you the stainless bends all add up, especially the 4" ones, this will be done next weekend if my stuff turns up. Apart from that im going to try and neaten up the engine bay a bit, move a few relays and put in another one to control the thermo fans through the computer. Some stuff is still undecided like where the new catch can is going and where a few hoses will be run. I still need to get some heat wrap for the manifold and dump pipe and a turbo blanket for now, the plan is to get it all ceramic coated as well once im happy with the setup. I would like to have it back on the dyno very soon but i think it will still be about 4-5 weeks away. And who is gonna tune the wolf for me..............? Well i guess ill stert speaking to some people when the time gets a bit closer. Anyway thats where its at for now, ill take some pics as the work gets done and post them up for whoever is interested and hope to make some half decent numbers soon
  3. Ive got some stuff off Morrie before and he is very helpful, parts were express posted and came the next day. I would highly recomend him to anyone.
  4. I use 2 14" davies craig thermo fans, its a tight fit. I havent made a shroud of anything for them yet but even under hard driving the temp only goes up a degree or two. On hot days stuck in traffic the temp gauge doesnt move.

  6. You can buy an adapter from turbosmart to replace the standard bov. Maybe using a dual port bov (50% atmo, 50% plumb back) might work.
  7. Im waiting for my 3071 now, should have it in the next week or so, as soon as it turns up its going straight on.
  8. Really? even though my discs are the same size. Anything else need to be changed, i was hoping i could just do calipers, lines and master cylinder.
  9. Hi guys when i got my R32 it was originally a RB25de auto, so we put the RB20det and 5 speed in. We looked at the disks and they are the same size as the gtst but 4 stud and the calipers are a lot smaller. Will the gtst calipers bolt up to my car without having to change much, i dont want to do the 5 stud conversion because i already bought 18" wheels for it, thanks. Russell.
  10. Yeah just talk to your tuner about how to do it, on the wolf its straight forward. My car seemed to breakdown on 17psi at around 6-6500rpm, that was with standard coils. Put a new set of splitfires in and same problem. New plugs 7 heat range i think gapped to .6 and still no change. With charge time set to 4ms the problem disapeared, but was concerned about burning the coils out. So we set discharge to .6ms (it was 1ms before) and this allowed us to bring the charge time down to 2.4ms.
  11. I had something similar happen, my problem was the dwell time on the coils. Increased charge time helped but reducing discharge time worked better. We set charge at 2.4ms and discharge at .6ms.
  12. I think the gcg are around the $1900 mark and they bolt in place of the standard turbo, you only get what you pay for. Id go for the gcg one if i was you.
  13. Not 100% true as the turbo im using at the moment is water and oil, and its std bearing i guess it depends on the maker. The T70 you mention sounds like a cheap ebay turbo made in china, i wouldnt recomend it. Get a GCG hiflow, what better value for money is there? Look at all the garrett GT turbos, they are both water and oil.
  14. Ha ha ha nothing wrong with the old boat anchor , thanks mate
  15. 3" turbo back exhaust walbro pump, gtr injectors, malpassi 2-1 reg 600-300-76 hybrid cooler T3/T4 turbo (T04S comp with std hiflo rear, not ball bearing) wolf 3d ecu + ebc splitfire coils k&n pod done 190kw on 22psi new turbo setup going on at the moment, ordered a GT3071R.
  16. I cant see a problem with it. My mate bolted a t4 setup on his ef falcon (210000kms) and on 10psi its still going strong with 315hp at the wheels.
  17. Thanks Warpspeed that was very helpfull. Russell
  18. yeah but its a lot of mucking around just for a bov. i wouldnt do it but its up to you
  19. move the afm to the front of the throttle body
  20. Thanks so a boost gauge should be ok with a long copper line. One more question, on a car with high backpressure how much psi would there be? I no its very difficult to answer as every car will be different but should a 30psi gauge be ok. Another one, sorry, what would the ideal ratio of backpressure vs boost be? Russell
  21. Ok i can weld a fitting on my manifold just before the turbo and im sure i can get a high temp line made up from someone, but what sort of gauge would i need to handle the heat?
