  1. congratulations mark, sounds like a good willowbank track will be needed to get it all down.
  2. can do one better, here is a video of the 9.3
  3. grout filled, is that a must do once you reach a certain power level with a rb engine?
  4. did you get your head probs sorted mate?
  5. hand job with the die grinder?
  6. Hi all, at the weekend we attended the second round of the australian sport compact racing series. in qualifying we ran a couple of pbs 9.55 et at 155 mph then 9.36 et at 156.4 mph we made it to the quarter final only to break out with a 9.592 et on a 9.60 dial in time this put us third for the event and gives us a 120 point lead in the championship with 2 rounds to go. the encouraging thing about the times were the track had been scraped on friday so had no rubber down which ment i had to feather the throttle for the first 400 feet or so, sixty foots were back at 1.69 instead of our normal 1.5's so on sixty foot alone theres a 9.0 to be had. we still have room to move on the tune so hopefully we will see a 8 sec radial tyred pass in the near future. massive thanks to my tuner and crew chief Justin Gregory from BlackTrack Performance Dyno Centre in thornton. results speak for themselves. just put 3300 pounds and 156.4mph into a horsepower calculator, its pretty impressive not to mention the car performs time after time after time. thanks must also go to merv for his fabrication work at blacktrack. also a big thanks to other local business who sponsor me 6Boost turbo manifolds, PRO Coat high temp coatings, MV Autos, microtech global, premier exhaust, rampant performance parts and turbosmart. cheers Shane
  7. tell the truth, you had a 300 shot in it
  8. do you think you'll make the heathcote event mate? sounds like its coming together nicely
  9. i was invited to go but cant get there due to $$$ with a round in vic in feb and a round in qld in march and a wedding in april, i just cant stretch the budget. i reckon this is an awesome event and if it runs again next year i will be there for sure. with heaps of race fuel and a lorry full of nitrous. shane "allgas" crichton
  10. the weight penalty for the trans is only in the ANDRA book, not in rays. when they merge next year there will be no weight penalty for the trans. that comes from both the box and sharpies mouth.
  11. easter 2006, you over filled your trans fluid, remember when the offical pulled you and me out of the line. you had a big pool of fluid under your car in the stagging lanes and your crew guy at the time said oops, over filled the transmission.
  12. i looked at taking the power steering off to save weight but honeslty after driving through lee's trans fluid a couple of easters ago and getting very sideways at half track, i wouldnt have like dto try and keep it off the walls without the power steering. just find another 20hp to compensate
  13. VPW wont do anything. VPW who bring in sunoco or rocket who bring in VP fuels know that sponsorship wont increase sales in that product. they get more coverage out of the SCG's contingency which costs them stuff all. have a look whos on the sunoco website.
  14. i dont agree with this statement. drag radials are much harder on driveline components than slicks. due to the limited side wall flex. driving on slicks are like driving on two big cushions. the extra side wall flexing takes a lot of stress off the drive line. this is evident with the amount of guys breaking drivelines in their supra's in the states on radials when guys on slicks arent breaking those same components. last meeting if smashed my planetary gears in my transmission when changing into second gear. the change from first to second is far less harsh with the slicks on than the radials. Shane
  15. whats the offset of the gtr 16 inch wheels folks?
  16. congratulations Paul and stacey and to all involved in the car. 1.44 sixty foot would have felt like your stomach contents were being forced out your bot bot so what was the half track MPH old mate? Shane
  17. www.VPW.com www.VPW.com.au VPW = victorian performance warehouse. great guys, tell them you found them via there sport compact sponsorship Shane
  18. just a thought but in the one of chance of the car breaking something, driving through oil etc and the car gets sideways it will be harder to control as it will body roll like a champion. after seeing a few guys cars crash at the track i have seen a lot of guys put them back on. for the sake of 5 kilos or so, i will just go on a diet.
  19. HI all on the weekend at the sport compact meeting the cressida had a top day. 10.009 at 146 mph smoking the tyres in 2nd and 3rd 10.15 at 147 mph smoking second and third 10.27 at 146 again smoking the tires even after taking 1 psi out of the tune took an additional 3 psi out of the tune back to 24 psi it worked with us running a pb of 9.915 et at 149.9 mph even with a lacklustre 1.777 sixty foot after the car had 1.5'd earlier in the day. we broke the sprag for second gear on that pass and ran all eliminators as a 2 speed only having 1st and 3rd gear. the car still ran low tens 10.27 at 147 with no second gear. we won the S/RWD class and reset our own national record to 9.915 at 149.9 mph. massive thankyou to justin gregory from BLACKTRACK performance dyno centre (formerly rx engineering), MV automatics, Premier exhaust, PRO COAT and our newest sponsor RAMPANT performance parts. we are looking forward to jamboree, we will have our front runners and glass bonnett by then which will drop the wieght of the car fom 3400 pounds to min wieght of 3100 pounds, the front half of the cage will be going in aswell. we know there is a 9.3 in the car as it sits so hopefully with a sticky willowbank track we will see it happen. cheers shane
  20. riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight obviously a nissan humor thing. i suppose you have to have something to have a laugh about, i would hate to think what it feels like to have an old pensioners cressida go flying past your race bread car in the deep end then pop the chute.. insert doctor evil laugh here
  21. can blitz unban Paul's account. i dont feel violated, the posts above is just some silly banter between 2 friends, i dont think he should be banned for it as i dont feel violated. cheers shane
  22. i know glen doesnt drink, i was stiring you champ. its all good i forgot about stace being 5 months, you told me that the other night on the phone. see you on the weekend
  23. poin dexter, stole my line. pulling all nighters aye, you mean pulling the ring pull on the top of a beer and handing it to your mechanic mr glen laws as he puts your engine back in to keep him hydrated. and why do you nissan boys always talk about your wang and sausage? wont anyone else do anything with it? oh and i have to flame you, its been 12 months since we have been able to race each other cause your still in the dirt grudge with no mojo. anywho, are you driving or is stace driving on the weekend mr poindexter.
  24. chris was being sarcastic the subliminal message for you uneducated gtr drivers is, "go race its more fun to drive it in stead of sitting in it stationary whilst it moves a couple of rollers". it's early afternoon, it must be time for your nanna nap paul
