yes they should, i knew what you meant mate. its probably a case of not many pretty cars in this class wiht out barac, woolett and jacobsen now. f**k pretty.
-
yes i agree, but i think the site was put up looking for a "look" so to speak.
-
nope, has to run 2 function headlights. im going to put it to ray to change that to allow cold air inductions. also Reece just ran 7.779 @ 291.90km/h testing at nationals
-
that would have to be my only gripe about the whole jamboree event is why do all motor and front runner get the nice cool air but tough street cars get the heat of the day. i think it must be a willowbank policy to run slick tired cars together and treaded tires together.
-
well its my opinion. i reckon it will be a tussle between ben diggles, you, me and the mercury silvia you, me and the silvia have all done pretty similar times, ben has run 9.1 at 150 on slicks, it will come down to what he can get the radials to do and if he can back it up within the 1% rule. its probably going to be easier for the rest of us as we arent as quick. there may be other cars to mate, jus the others on the list i dont know about. Carlos is running the supra in sport mod on slicks so he can use the transbrake. so hes not in the class any more, cant wait to see it do an 8 sec pass at mid 150 mph or more. they had 96 entries last year when it included AWD but only 60 showed up. would be good if we could have a top ten shoot out at night with the colder air on the saturday night.

my initial post was to say remind them they need it as in the videos when they have been testing they didnt have a full exhaust. i was being nice and giving a friendly reminder in case they didnt know i have my skirt on thankyou, i am just saying to adrian post if people dont comply i will lodge a protest. i wasnt having a go at your buddy. i reckon street rwd is going to kick ass this year. 72 entire all ready and it would appear there are 4 or 5 cars that will be fighting it out for the national record.
-
carlos didnt have the full exhaust on the saturday, he offered to withdraw from the class and just do exhibition runs. i dont know who made the decision but they allowed him to use the times for qualifiying and he had to run the full exhaust on sunday. i only found this out after competition had finished on the sunday night last year. as a competitor who runs to the rules every meet. i will be lodging protests for anyone who doesnt comply to class rules. if they dont do some thing about it adrian, i will pull every bit of trim & carpet etc to lose weight and go faster, if some one complains i will have my defence good for one good for another. and if they pull me out, i'll be the first to fire legal action up some ones arse. theres a rule book for a reason. people should read the f**king thing before they show up to race. the old i didnt know about it doesnt fly with me.

if thats the silvia on ozhoon videos, i hope they realise they cant run their side pipe in the street rwd class.

its not just a roll cage mate you need fire proof pants jacket shoes and gloves that meet sfi standards, theres $1600 easy. tranny blanket theres another $160. you have to have a medical and send the results down to head office at andra in south australia with an application and cheque. Ulimited license is what you need to run 10.99 and quicker. its $260 for the license andother $200 for the medical, then the car has to be tech inspected which is another $150 from memory. you need a battery isolation switch which are about $50 plus you need to wire it in. you also need a 5 point harness that meets SFI rules theres another $250. If you have abolt in cage from japan they wont pass it either. needs to be cold drawn seemless mild steel and certain thickness, or chrome molly, plus if its bolt in you have to use ANDRA approved clefts. which the jap ones wont pass. your chances of having all this by next weekend are sweet fugg all buddy. go get a super street license which takes 15 mins, run 11.00 or slower and you will have no issues.
-
if its not tech inspected they dont care that you have a cage etc. it has to be passed by one of them. you will need a super street license if you run 12.5 or faster so i would be getting one of them prior to jambo. then if you dip into the tens, you can say i have a super street license i didnt want to run tens, i wind the boost back, sorry, and hopefully they will let you keep running. if you dont have a super street and you go quicker than 12.5 you are gone.

as far as im aware, the only real difference between joes combo and the combo on personnett scion that runs 6.40 is gearbox and joe isnt running quite as big of turbo. i was under the impression that the chasis had gone mid 6's many times before with the v8 in it.

my prediction is GAS will go much faster than a 6.9 the GAS car will be the car to beat in PRO RWD. Not taking anything away from pac, they have been great and still are, but i just dont see the rotary PRO RWD cars being able to keep up wit the 2JZ powered cars. i say this based on the fact the rotars in the USA are struggling to go 6.7 and the 2J's are consistantly in the low 6.5 to 6.4 region. Personnett actually rewrote btoh end of the record for NOPI and NHRA a couple of weeks back with the new record being 6.51 et 218 mph. there are only 4 cars in PRO RWD over there now 3 of which are 2JZGTE powered. the rotars cant get sponsorship cause they arent competitive. which is a real shame, Abels car was a work of art. as for REECE demolishing the record, that a big call. i cant see it happening. i think he will kill the MPH but not the ET. and i base that on the fact that all the KIWI cars that have come here run huge MPH but struggle with tall the traction they get here, so they either break components or bog off the line. dont get me wrong i would love to see it happen.
-
i take it with the extra 130 hp you are guessing its going to get over 140mph? or are you in a similar boat to me, that its a heavy car and gets tough to pull up down hill at willow bank? like the conversion too.
-
i have a set of mickey thompson drag radials for sale, same size as the ones BUSTER went 10.5et 130mph on they retail at $250 per tyre, brand new i only want $200 each. 235/60/15
-
i seen you were entered in S/RWD thats awesome Ben. theres going to be some good racing in the class. have you run on radials before? if so, what sort of times have you run on them? thanks Shane

hmm, well i think we need to suggest this to him, as the rule book doesnt really read that way. it reads that if its not factory its NOT permitted. its good news though. GTR660 if you have a look at rays site, you can see how much he is putting in. i think this will be the thing that gets it all happening. i understand what adrian is saying, but honeslty wether its ANDRA or not doesnt matter a fugg. Adrian himself told me about how he was handled in regards to the presentation dinner, sounds to me like there aint no respect from them, so its on really recognised by the racers too. whether its ANDRA or ray box, its going to have the same magazine coverage, the same type of trophies, the same type of prize money, the same type of spectators and the same type of people will get out the cheque book to sponsor. i cant see to much difference. just a promoter whos giving it his best. if he makes a dollar out of it, who cares. i know i dont do business for free, as i doubt any of us do. we all need to put bread on the table.

they mve to antoehr class. ozmod is now called street 289
-
didnt mazda put jatcos behind rotaries?
-
no aftermarket transmissions so no powerglides, c4's no supra gearbox behind rotary etc. if it wasnt an option from the manufacturer its not allowed. thats interesting and will certainly limit the class. unless carlos shows up with his manul box in, he wont bein our class.
-
no trans brakes. you can run alcohol though.
-
i got it on email, it should be on the site later today, i was talking to ray just prior to lunch

the rule book is out mother fuggers AWD have there own class, looks like a tussle between the big heav cressida and the light weight 13b mx5 for top qualfier, unless calros comes out int he millenium supra, then we have no chance, 10.04 at 150 mph last year witha 2.3 sixty foot. theres a high 8 in that car
