Kenny Went Racing What Was The Result?
1JZ.747 replied to 1JZ.747's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
do i recall you saying you had bolt in intrusion mate, what ws the comment from tech inspector, i tried to make a rule submission to allow sub 10 but higher than 9.00 cars aloud to run bolt in with 6 point as they do in NHRA, but i was told insurance company is what will not allow it so no point putting the $25 in to try. apparantly it has been asked many times in the last 2 years. im going to have to go full 6 point in the next couple of months with the new package, not liking the idea of no street driving. -
i know how to changes gears too, my daily is newcastles fastest street car buddy, the almighty big block 1.3 litre starlet life. i could drive john forces car mate, it would be just like drive my big auto.
-
bit ordinary that andre simon will be driving the HKS car. some guy with no experience in that car against a guy whos ran his car a thousand times and is familar how it behaves. that would be like bringing john forces funny car over here and me racing ben bray out at the 1/8th mile track at dubbo. any who, it will still be interesting to see what goes down. when are you racing again?

just saw a pic of kenny's bmw at wsid from a meeting just prior to xmas on cackling pipes howd it go champion?
-
genuine congratulations theo. it will be nice to see that 60 foot drop with the slicks. 159 mph is quick, proves its making good horsepower. reaction is good too. hopefully you can take this into competition and gets some wins on the board. shane

i have never heard of a r154 break. i know of several running around the 450rwhp mark and have done for years with no issues W57 and W58 boxes never came behind 1j's so i am intrigued as to this gearbox issue that keep being brought up. and wasnt the thread about the engine 1j vs rb 25, i cant see anywhere in the thread title that says which gearbox to use.

i did do it cheap in my opinion, compared to similar cars, i see guys spending 100k on a vl to run low tens on slicks when im doing it on radials with no trans brake. i could build another car the same as i have now with a built 2j for 30 grand. having buddies with RBs, and dollar for dollar i reckon the JZ's are easier and safer to extract power from. i am pulling my stock engine out now and putting a built engine in in search for mid nines. i could have run a nine on this engine with out a problem given cooler weather. just for those that dont know. standard head, standard bottom end, standard plenum and TB, Garret T51R, 3.5 inh full exhaust, 1000cc injectors, microtech, 50 shot of gas, built toyota trans(no transbrake) standard cressida shell, pretty standard pedders suspension. the engine had 190,000 k's on it, i bought half cut with 94000 on it 5 years ago. 35 psi of boost on MT drag radials 255/50/16 and run a PB of 10.17 et at 137 mph. to put that into perspective, 3440 pounds and that trap speed work out the power. and the great thing is the car has been running tens for a year and a half, i've been making over 450 horsepower at the tyres for over 2 years, the car gets street driven regularly and driven long distances and i havent had an issue. in my opinion tyhe JZ's are a stronger engine, 35 psi on factory rods, over 30 psi for 1 year and adam can attest i race it alot. shane

my eyes must have been painted on yesterday
-
my advice dont change it till you tune it at te boost you want with the gas, then try it the same converter will be totally different with more boost and the nos in it. my car is proof of that.
-
you will see tonight
-
i'll be racing aswell
-
big block = 3 litre 1.5jz with cams and plenum once sorted we should see 9.6 9.7 et at around 145 mph
-
i was really happy with the 10.3 to top qualify. we are going out on friday night to see if we can get it down a bit further before the new engine goes in
-
drop me an sms let me know how you go mate.
-
only 16 entries in SRWD, so every one will qualify. better have it consistant from day one champion other wise you'll be on the trailer early. its going to be harder racing with slower cars qualifying.
-
just rang wsid she put them in the mail lastnight should have them thursday or friday. why leave it to the last minute.

Whats The Quickest Rb Powered Car?
1JZ.747 replied to 600hp's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
thats a good question. i would think reece mcgregors car at 7.5 -
this is an interesting thing. a mate of mine in his stupidity 6 months ago was caught street racing another guy late at night in a kariong industrial area. he was caught with n20 hooked up. it went to caught and there was no mention of the n20 althought the police noted it in there report. the lawyer stated to him that it would not be an issue. he was charged with racing which is not a criminal offence apparantly, he had to pay court costs and had his car stored by the crown for 3 months and had to pay towing fees and also storage fees. i have been told by my local area command i can have the bottle safely stored inthe bottle brackets with the bottle disconnected as i have a dangerous goods sticker on the car to notify the transport of n20. how are you supposed to get the bottle filled and transport it safely, have a second car with bottle brackets to drive to get it filled and safely transported to the track.. i was also told that to have issues with carry it with the line hooked up it would have to be proved that the occupant of the car had intent to use the n20. i would imagine every thing will come down to individual cases. i dont know why this thread exists, or what its going to achieve other than another my dick is bigger argument. but hey, if it floats your boat, go nuts.
