  1. That's because it's Shell Optimax. Apparently it was trialed over here for a couple of months in 2003 or 2004, but it hasn't come over long term and as far as I am aware it is unavailable in WA. My dad said that BP ultimate should be back to normal by Wednesday 23rd, meaning that everything will be back to normal, if all goes to plan with the startup tomorrow.
  2. I just rang Perth Brake Parts, who didn't have a listing for my car (R32 GTR) and told me I would need to remove the calipers and take to them to be measured up so they could find an equivalent. As I only have one car and I kinda need to drive it wherever it needs to go to be seen to, this isn't really an option for me.... So I rang my local Nissan dealership, who want $247.10 for a kit to do the rear calipers, which consists of RUBBER ONLY. This is absolutely ludicrous!! I read through most of this thread but couldn't work out whether you guys were talking about R32 GTR's using the same kits as a Z32, or R32 GTS-t's?? If someone could clarify or PM me the info I need it would be greatly appreciated....I'm getting nowhere fast here. I have a leaking caliper, and a motorsport event on next week that I have already paid for.... I am located in WA but I don't care if I have to get something sent over from NSW or Vic....
  3. Ok, got an update today. Shell & BP are running low on premium also. But they expect that the bit that failed will be fixed and up and running again by Wednesday. I don't think it was the compressor but it started with a C. Lol. Sorry I don't know much about machines and that kind of thing. I asked how long it would take till we had ultimate back at the bowser and he said 1 or 2 days after they get it running. So if all goes to plan, we will have ultimate on or before the weekend. If all does not go to plan, then they have the supplies which are already on the way. So it shouldn't be too much longer *fingers crossed* all goes to plan...
  4. They are due to run out next week and have supplies arriving the week after. My dad works at the refinery....If worst comes to worst you can still use the premium unleaded (shell or bp), just don't run on high boost and don't thrash the car.....Simple.
  5. Damn straight! I've always hated auto's though. I'm not going to post a pic of myself (that's attention-seeking in my books), I have heaps of photos on the net coz I'm a photographic model in my spare time, if you find them then good luck to you Once I have the 10"s on the GTR i'll post a pic of him haha.
  6. I edited one of my other posts (straight after posting) to say that i've only had the car for 7 months...well it's only been licensed for that period of time anyway. I'm in WA. No more small talk.
  7. I'm 21 now. I was 19 when the aboriginal incident happened. I don't really get any crap coz most of the time I behave myself.
  8. Yeah the only thing that happens that annoys me with the GTR, is people keep stealing my valve caps!!! First off it was the black plastic ones...How sad is that? Then whoever stole the next set (which came free with my new tyres) of silver ones must have been dedicated coz I tightened them with a spanner, so it's not like they were finger tight. Losers. One person had the decency to put one of their shitty old caps on it, i'm still short of 2 though. Valve caps!!! Come on!!! I've only had the car for 7 months though so i'm sure there's plenty more golden moments to come haha.
  9. I've never had any crap in the GTR. The only time anything funny ever happened to me, was a couple of years back I was driving the (respective) boyfriend's car, white 33 with a carbon fibre bonnet and some pretty wheels, was pulled up at a set of lights and some aboriginals in a clapped out VL drove past doing the wanking hand motion, and just froze and their jaws dropped when they realised it was a girl driving. I gave them a really cute smile too hahahaha.
  10. I PM'd you a couple of days ago with something....
  11. $1,900 is cheap, are you crazy? I'm 21 with a pretty clean driving history, and for me to insure the GTR fully comprehensive was $3,500 with Just car or $3,800 with Shannon's. Famous said it wouldn't be more than $3,000. Pfft! It's BS I tell ya! By the way Kylie, it may be a good idea to put aside enough money for an engine rebuild before you start spending money on mods. I speak from experience....
  12. Was it the september tuning arvo? I have a dark blue R32 GTR and I was there....But I don't remember there being any 32 gts-t's Yeah Missy I understand you're position, I have an office job and it's not easy owning a GTR on that kind of money!!! Then again I am a little bit older than you so the pay probably isn't quite so lousy (21) Takes forever to save up whenever I need money for the car though
  13. I dunno what's with my car then, but I get better fuel economy when I thrash it for the first 1/3 of a tank or so...just seems to burn more efficiently or something. Again, my R is fairly standard (310ps @ 1.0 bar), but if I drive it like a nanna everywhere, i'm lucky to 430km's to the tank. When I give it stick everywhere, I get 470....Go figure. Maybe there's something odd about the way my car is setup *shrugs* I have a mines ecu, pretty sure there's an aftermarket fuel pump in there but dunno what as it came over from Japan like that. Hope your car gets fixed up soon though
  14. I'll see how they go. Seeing as there is already some 10 inches worth under the car at the moment with a dishier offset than what can go on a gtr (without spacers), i've got my fingers crossed that they will make it. I wouldn't think they would be worse than what was on the car now, at worst I think they will be on a parr with the current rims. But i'll just have to wait and see!! Yeah my tyre guy wants me to run 255's all round. The only clearance problem I have at the moment is with my right front wheel at full lock left, scrapes a little bit on the BOVs. But I have one nice big BOV to install that can be mounted further away so this won't be an issue anymore. Even if the rims get here and don't fit it's not big deal, i'll keep them aside until such times as the car is at the point that I have planned for it and then they will be perfect. And if for some reason the car doesn't get to that point, then I can easily sell them to someone with a later model GTR. Thanks for the heads up though, I appreciate it
  15. I have just bought some second hand Volk F-Zero Winning rims for my R32 GTR, they are 17" x 10", +20 offset (off a GTR, just dunno which model)....Will let you all know how they go! I currently have 17" x 9" on there with large offset spacers all the way around (20mm on the front, 25mm on the rears), not sure what offset they are just know that they are wrong! The rears protrude slightly at the moment but i'm hoping the correct offset of these other rims will mean they fill the guards without sticking out. So fingers crossed I don't have to flare the guards. Will try to run 255's but thinking there may be an issue with clearance on the front when turning. Does anyone know what the smallest tyre is that you can put on a 10" wide rim? My tyre guy tells me that my 235's won't fit (for the front, I have 255's on the rears already).
  16. Man, 4 cars and you're 18?? and I thought 21 and owning a GTR was an achievement! All the best on the car, keep us updated!! Hehe foznice, I've considered it a few times already!! I figure I could work in a bar (im female) and earn some nice cash (not "hostessing"), and get to do all the motorsport I wanted to! There isn't alot of motorsport in Perth IMO. They seem to have less taxes and better wages in Japan from what i've heard! Parts for the R would certainly be cheaper *keeps dreaming*
  17. I should be alright then, my rims aren't multi-stud.
  18. Ekk I hope that's not for all the volks. I bought a set of long nuts for the rims I bought out of japan, but won't find out if they're right or not for another month till it all arrives
  19. The problem with not telling insurance companies about damage to your car is a little thing called NON DISCLOSURE. Yeah, you say now "Nothing's gonna happen" but how do you know? Accidents happen all the time, it doesn't mean it's going to be your fault. Non disclosure = no cover. I have seen / heard of so many examples of people being burnt by non disclosure. By the way, constantly taking out cover notes then cancelling them or letting them lapse is really, REALLY ANNOYING. I work for a broker, and it is pretty offensive that some people of such a mentality always seem to ring at quarter to 5 on a friday afternoon, desperately wanting cover. So we rush around like blue a$$ed flies, it's our time and our paperwork, for nothing. Our service is not free. Please don't be yet another time waster, it's really disrespectful. / end rant
  20. Wilkinson's are in beechboro, but they have really long hours. I dropped mine off at like 7:15am and they were open, and i think they're open until 6pm or thereabouts at night. Yeah I can't complain, they are an awesome set of coilovers though, full aluminium struts, these babies were designed for the track not the street lol but they are great. They felt awful when they were leaking, and the car handled like absolute s**t. My rears were the main problem, but as so much on the car had needed fixing / replacing I decided to get all 4 done so I didn't have to worry about them. I had a little issue that was fixed by wilko's for free, they honoured the job as the shocks had been rebuilt only 3 months prior, one of the coilovers started leaking, the fault had nothing to do with wilkinson's, but I think whoever rebuilt them in the east may not have aligned something perfectly, or something little like that. I dropped it off and it was ready to be picked up 3 days later, can't complain about that!! No problems in any other respect, and the coilover that was sent back again has been a charm ever since. I would definately recommend wilkinson's, their service was excellent and I found them to be very helpful
  21. Ouch!! That's expensive. I sent the coilovers from my GTR (Toda Fightex) to Wilkinson's, they were pretty shagged out, got them back 2 weeks later and my bill was only $860 for all 4.
  22. Really? I have the bolt-on hub plates, that then have their own bolts for the rim. I was told before I took it over the pits for licensing that they were illegal so I borrowed some standard GTR rims...Yeah my studs have been shaved down too which makes things difficult if you want to put different rims on the car that actually fit properly. Hrmm. So does that mean I don't have quite so much to worry about if for some reason the police pull me over? I freak out whenever there are cops around and pray that they don't pull me over for a "license check (aka yellow sticker)" lol.
  23. There are heaps of them on the yahoo japan auctions. My car came over with them as well. Keep in mind that they are illegal. They bolt onto the hub then your wheel bolts straight onto the spacer.
  24. My outer tie rod end was on the way out when I just had the vibration. Since I have replaced the dead one, now I can feel that my left one feels just how the right one used to feel, so I know it's in the process of wearing out. When it finally gave up is when I had those problems with it. Also, the day when it was really bad, it only did it around 75 - 85. Faster & slower were both fine, and it only seemed to do it on the rougher roads. It's a pretty unnerving feeling though. I took my dad for a drive and originally he thought I had thrown a wheel weight. Took it down to the local tyrepower to have the front wheel balance checked, and they didn't even charge me because the wheels were perfect.
  25. Cool. That wouldn't be the mc tuning arvo would it (30th)? I'm taking my car woohoo! I'm planning on taking my car to the plex on the 28th, hoping all goes to plan with the car. I hear it's difficult to figure out how to race who you want though, because they constantly change the lanes n stuff....
