  1. spent today pulling out the ABS unit, brake booster, radiator and associated harnesses. also put EVERYTHING I need to buy for it on a BIG list and made a book for it with images. this will make it easier for me to cross things off as I buy them. engine and box come out next weekend. then the fun begins - CLEANING!
  2. inside fuse panel - there will be a 10A fuse blown.
  3. would be quicker to wire a 2nd lighter socket in place and tuck that behind the dash. some hting I do a lot of with portable navs.
  4. because that is hte way the post reads.
  5. google Qashqai that is the dualis. the crossover is a differnt critter. nigel, proof or it didnt happen
  6. RB20DET engine (4wd block) suit rebuild - complete from intake->turbo. less sump and flywheel/clutch - $300. hybrid intercooler - with pipes and silicone joins - $50. (ta luke!) unknown brand BOV - $30. rising rate FPR with pressure gauge inbuilt $30 boost bleed valve - $20. -------- updated.
  7. Bonnet - suit R32 GTST - $100. straight - needs paint. hinges and washer jets NOT included. (I need those.)
  8. $$ in wallet will depend on what you break..
  9. given you are experiencing these issues NOW I would strongly suggest instead of talking about it on a forum - FIX IT! when the windows die on these cars they do it WITHOUT WARNING! if that is down then you are really screwed. all the chatter about resetting them and programs going wrong - totally off target. these are known mechanical issues on these cars (up to 2006.11) and they should be fixed the first sign of trouble. if you are having full door issues then I would do ALL 4 items. that way you have a known constant (yes it will kill your wallet.) and piece of mind that it is all new gear (forget sourcing second hand = hand grenade.) and it will last another 5-6 years. in the past day I have been asked to supply 4 door actutators from 4 different people. I think that says something. if you want very little hassle from a car and more fun you prbably should have bought a nissan instead of a renault ( I can say that - I own a R32.)
  10. couple of stripped shots : rust is actually worse with the car assembled. most of the underside is fairly clean front on: a few rusted and snapped 10mm bolts. at least I can get at them from the back. wiper assy needs doing as well once I cut 6 bolts loose. rear shots. you cannot really see the 2" push where it has hit something. rest is fine. I'm still pulling it down and hopefully in the next week or two I'll have it back to a shell so I can start prep work.
  11. nah , would take a bit to piss of the admin
  12. if it is a proper PDF I'm interested. I have the scanned one already.
  13. yep looking at the blowup of it there area a few extra bits I'll need. the BOV and the like I'll put in the stock spot. aware of the parts cost. part of the reason I want to find a S/H GTR cooler.
  14. nor do I but the one time I need to stop in a hurry I will be able to..
  15. yep - paint on top. that part of the equatin is taken care of by the panel guy when I get it to that point. I'm organising new bits/pieces (lots!) first.
  16. hehe! wondered why my SAU club folder was quiet.
  17. there ya go. some simply do not give a rats. the local dealer I deal with in brissy has no issue helping me on weird things (including JAP R35s.) he's happy to help. short of it. find one that helps you and continue to see them.
  18. Spilmer, looked it up $500+ shipped out here ex japan. didnt bother to ring locally figured that would scare me. that said the front bumper is $550 ex MLB. I will do that one as most of the traders here want that for the used ones. RBNT, thats what I'm trying to work out. I went digging through my invoices and pulled two cars from there. both tell me that the part numbers differ.
  19. other thing. I tend not to half build cars. revhead (SAU username) knows that from my subaru wagon. that I built a few years back.
  20. yep fuuny thing is I expected a hard time buying things for this car. 99% of it is local and the 1% thats not is still in production ex japan. to me thats not too shabby for a 16-21 yr old car.
  21. My r32 - sheesh - give you lot an inch of play and you run a mile with it. andy, if you are going to be there I may pop past.
  22. duuno yet. may use the time to do a bit more stripping..
