How Much Power Loss Using 91 Fuel
madbung replied to ascenion24's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Don't do it.. you'll risk your driveline and wont save any money short or long term. Your car will be less economical on 91ron..you'll drop a fair few klm's per tank and it will run like crap. I wont run 95 ron in mine let alone 91...too much detonation, even under normal driving and forget it if it's a slightly warm day.. the engine warning light goes nuts. Tuning? I doubt it could be dumbed down enough to be acceptable. -
"PLOP"........I made a little brown fish

Did the first part of my post read as serious or sarcastic to you....maybe the wink at the end might be a hint.. I dunno It was a sarcastic poke @ all the tools that blame the popo every time they get done for defects, speeding ect.

Paint Code: Would Anyone Know What Color This 32 Gtr Is
madbung replied to DFAULT's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Lamborghini orange??? Looks close to me and it's a popular colour for customs. -
I blame the police!! Obviously another victim of unjust persecution...the results of the MAN trying to keep a brother down...ect...ect for the famlies involved..but what else would you expect to see as the result of 180kph in a 60kph zone, I'm just glad noone outside of the vehicle was harmed.

Very hard to contact, last time for me after leaving 4-5 messages over a 2 week period I gave up and spent my $ elsewhere. Shame coz I think they do good work.

How Crap Aussie Turbo Vehicles Are
madbung replied to DriftDadr32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Gearboxes don't just disintergrate and holes dont magically appear in blocks.. They're the result of something else...ie: the way they've been treated. Even with a fully engineered race car if it's driven harshly/poorly it won't last the distance. So i'm not suprised a street car that comes stock with more than it's share of torque will melt diffs and destroy gearboxes when abused. The turbo xd (mentioned above) was a Dick Johnson special built in limited # there were a few tubo "dealer" specials built in the 80's xd-xf but nothing from the factory. -
e-bay and the for sale section of these forums would be your best bet or you could try wrecking yards but I found them to be 2 $$$. As for the Kw gain for a front mount or r34smic the answer is none...what it will allow you to do is run higher boost levels and a more agressive tune which = more Kw with reduced risk of detonation or mechanical failure... in other words it helps keep the induction side of things cool nothing more. But of course if you are currently getting detonation/pinging it will help these probs and will feel like it's given a performance gain.

You can have either pod or smic but not both in vic...sounds strange I know, as suggested the r34 smic would be best for your goal of 180kw and should be good to take the car up to 200kw anything over you'll need to go front mount. Price- $200 app and it bolts straight up to the factory piping ect so no cutting ect required...yeah it's just a bigger brother to the r33 smic but as said all the brackets and pipes fit so it's a very easy job to do and gives you some stealthy power gains without all the attention that a front mount attracts. goodluck and have fun

Seems Like I Have Low Power On My R33
madbung replied to tek_01's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah it does seem strange, 175kw on 225 nankangs should be plenty to break traction in first.. On nankangs around 100kws should be enough Seriously though atm i'm running similar Kw's to you, with these mild mods...pfc, r34 smic, splitfires, 3" turbo back/split dump, k&n panel filter, bleed valve, exceedy hd clutch with a very conservative tune around the 180kw @ 10psi. I do however have some very nice sticky 265 firestones on the rear as opposed to your Nankangs aKa "the tyre of death" Now with my r33 s1 If I hit the sweet spot shifting to second it will chirp also taking off normally if I roll on the gas as boost hits it will break traction @ maybe 30 kph...dump the clutch you'll sit and spin. As said by someone above the chassis and suspension dynamics are fairly good even in stock form they do hook up very well and thats what it's all about. If you want to loose traction easier you can either stiffen the ass end up or increase your kw..Having said all of that, with similar power maybe you car is doing what it should and mines too firm in the rear and not hooking up like it should. Mmmmmmmmmm Heres a thought...you dont have a boot install subs ect (extra weight over the diff)? Although I'm not pushing big kw's my car is a lot lighter than most r33's around with no body kit, big sound system or Hicas to weigh it down and some super light enkies all helping with the power-weight ratio. So there's a few ideas but as I said I don't think it's a lack of power. -
Just another form of MOPAR madness, you've gotta love anything mopar powered!

Yep saw it, hotdocs is compulsary viewing around here....good stuff. The bit when the 19 y.o was bragging how when he gets home he'll be the shiz coz he's only 19 and has fought a war, made me cringe.. poor f*kka has no idea.... Most of those guys seemed far to young and immature to be exposed to such a place and times and it showed badly....all under the banner of devout christianity. It was sad...sad to see all those young fellas being mentally screwed but not realising it yet.

Now thats new and exciting...still could be worse don't they have some super restrictive legislation in the U.K, 1 or it might be 1.3 ltrs and thats it for p's. Today i'm happy to be an Old Bastard, shit when I started out, no speed cameras, red light cameras, booze buses.....shit they didn't even have breathalizers let alone roads side swab tests for drugs. No vehicle restrictions what so ever. Biggest difference is back in the day you'd have to spend big $$$ to get your average Aussie v8 to go about as hard as your stock straight out of dads garage v6 commo of today. So apart from hardcore knobends like myself you wouldnt see many burnouts or genuinely quick cars in the burbs unlike today where any kid with $1500 can buy a v6 commo and pop a set of tyres every night if he wants. Look at the rubber layed down in most suburbs nightly, it's a disgrace! So although we had it easy in a lot of ways the cars of my day really sucked ass, but petrol was almost free it was so cheap so..........

Has The New Commodore Changed Your View
madbung replied to Smurf's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yes and the world is flat...coz someone from the GMH publicity department says it's so. Have a look @ the car and tell me they haven't followed the proven Holden formula of taking all the parts available from GM global modify as needed then stuff it into a body thats also stolen its form this time from the european opel of about 5 yrs ago. It's a hotchpotch caserole of commodore crap!!! U-G-L-Y it don't need no alibi!!! it's ugly...damn ugly. -
I'm sorry you've been defected, But you know the deal, if you choose to have illegal mod's then inadvertently get pulled over and defected who's to blame...not the knobends in Noble Park. The Knobends from Noble Park may be blamed for an increased vigilance by togs towards modified cars but they didn't fit the frontmount, pod or change your ride height to your car. You need to make a choice...either play within the rules or stop whinging when you get caught breaking them. aint hard to do. madbung replied to Smurf's topic in General Automotive Discussion
U-G-L-Y it don't need no alibi it's ugly...damn ugly Looks very Korean to me...like an enormous Daewoo thats taken a lickin with the ugly stick.. at best its a viva or vectra on roids. The design team just didn't know when to stop glueing unessesary crap on that clay model did they?. Those pumped out guards should only be on the sports versions...they look rediculous on an exec with stock rims/ride height ect. Or maybe the design team got bored and let their kids pimp daddies ride. Very ugly by design & sadly average from an engineering perspective. I wish GMH would try and build something fresh and new instead of just stretching out Opels and whacking on an extra bit here or there where needed. Same old same old from GMH... congratulations you've built a billion dollar rwd Daewoo....excellent. -
Check your wheel bearings, if you've chewed one out it would cause similar symptoms when moving ie: tramlining pulling under brakes ect...I have no ideas on what would pull the steering left when the car is stationary but if it is happening I'd start looking @ the power steering pump and go from there.

r34 smic ftw, imho the arc would be a waste of $$

yep too much sugar
