  1. I think the exclusion zone is a 75k radius from the MCG...most probably calculated to give the fighters enough time to intercept anything that enters this zone before it can reach it's target (MCG). I just hope one or more of them dont fall out of the sky over Melb. I can't imagine the cost involved in this exercise, it must be enormous.
  2. 4ks.....thats friggin harsh mate, you deserve pity for that one
  3. Yep nothing to fear there.... They could have detained you indefinately @ our governments pleasure or accidentally gunned you down because you neglected to shave that morning. But they can't defect you or give you a traffic violation so np's ay!!!
  4. Xr turbo's are most probably the cheapest performance car available off the showroom floor domestically..so logically it will be the most popular choice for local hoons with the budget to match. I've seen a couple of guys giving their xr's stick on the weekend, I'd bet most of them drive company cars during the week and are borrowing the wifes xr6t for some w/end fun...sounds like a good plan for the older guy who needs reliable safe transport for his family during the week and some fun for himself when wanted. Still I'd hazard a guess that the percentage of idiots driving Skylines is far higher than the ratio of hoon to housewife in xr6t's. Mmm what could he mean by Japanese tech....surely you don't think turbo's are a japanese invention or maybe you're refering to variable valve timing or multivalve heads? either way you'd be wrong..the japanese didn't invent any of them.
  5. Look I'm certainly no expert when it comes to matters of the mind, although you're most probably not alone in suffering this condition I believe it's quite rare, but not necessarily cause for alarm. anyway Here's what I think you should do... Women...give em a go. Try taking one per night just before bed, you should see a change almost immediately, obviously.... if the problem persists see a doctor.
  6. Can you get arc smic for an r33 also?
  7. If you consider the amount of area, population and tax dollar per capita I think our roads are pretty damn good in comparison with a lot of others I've driven on. It's impossible for a country like Australia to have it's infrastructure compared fairly with almost any other developed country. If you take into consideration our enormous land mass, sparse population and level of tax, there's no other place to compare it with. The distances involved and limited resources we have in comparison to almost all European countries it's impressive that we have the roads we do.
  8. Explains the problem with english This thread is obviously a wind up and not a bad effort either. when old gear becomes dirty ofcourse!!
  9. What the cop said is correct if it's safe to stop you must stop on amber. If it's not safe to stop ie: you're right ontop of the light when it changes, without enough time to pull up in a safe manner. Basically if its more dangerous/impossible to try and pull up than to proceed then and only then can you legally run the amber light. Got let off for failing to indicate + borderline dangerous driving (0-100 to fast or so he said) myself last week.. with a $130 fine and 3 demerit points for the failure to indicate alone in the balance I was releaved more than just a lil bit to get away with only a warning. I must be a lucky old Bastard, over the years I'd say my warnings to fines ratio is about 3-1
  10. Start writing letters to your local mp, racq, papers ect....that regulation has to be an oversight or error and definitely deserves to be challenged and then changed. It's just not logical nor reasonably enforceable as it stands. How would you go with say a classic car that leaves no option other than an aftermarket system or even a legally modified/engineered/plated car with a different engine? do you have the system to suit the car or motor? If the regulation is for all motor vehicles with no exceptions how can they possibly police it effectively and fairly. Total nonsense, you'd hope a judge would also laugh at how ridiculous it is. It could only happen in qld though...I believe your politicians spend far to much time in the sun and we all know there's a direct correlation between too much sun and a lowered mental capacity.
  11. Couldnt he just flip the negative polarity conductor toggle inverting the currents directional phase output instead?
  12. I've been pulled over a few times over the years for various offenses and like you had the officer note my details saying they'll be in touch but no ticket ect on the spot..happily on all ocassions I never heard another thing, alot of that probably comes down to attitude with a more than moderate dose of luck. I hope you have the same luck, but I feel the seriousness of your offence will warrant further action and will most probably not just disappear. You should have applied for that exemption!!!
  13. I agree with all the posters above in one way or another.... I also cbf

    Tv - Lost

well hello freckles.. I'm probably way off here but I theorized these guys are in limbo and the "lost" is in reference to their souls with the island as a last chance @ redemption before they get sent to heaven or hell. All of the charactors are flawed individuals but with 1 or 2 redeeming qualities, so they've been given a last chance. You die on the island when the final judgement on your soul has been made. Loc's ability to walk, Jack seeing/talking to his dead father and now desmond appears after first meeting jack back home and foretelling (or did he cause) a miracle with jacks girls spine ect ect.. It's a great plot
  17. Getting over the fake beemer/gto style nose cone...Looking at it's high waisted sides, door handles, grille position, headlight angle and being a lhd diesel my guess would have to be Volvo.
  18. yep definatley get a compression leak down test done, cooking an engine can do all sorts of damage or you may be lucky and have sustained none. You are lucky in the fact that your engine did not sieze because if it had that'd most probably have been your pistons fusing themselves to your bores. pull your plugs and check for damage from over temp, do an ecu reset if you have the stock unit still in place, your timing may have been slightly nudged during cam belt replacement ect.. Hope you took some pics of the bad workmanship to save any arguments if it does come to a rebuild or repairs.
  19. check coils and plugs...some injector cleaner wouldn't hurt either.
  20. No fear mate..it's a one off for compliance approvals...they'll be back to normal in no time i'm sure
  21. gee thanks for the INFORMATION Looks more like a question to me..a question thats been answered many times before. try the search function.
  22. furry muff...I assumed you'd used a stock picture when you said it was still on the car, just wanted to clarify.
  23. sei in dandy have the cleanest r32gtst i've possibly ever seen to put through as their test compliance car...dunno when they're going to do it but they're definately setting up for r32 compliancing.
