Have you tried an Aus Delivered one? Did that work?

Just because you see it in a magazine doesnt mean those cars are all out on the streets, a lot of them are trailer sailors or spend their time in the garage and even then the ones that go out and do get defected have to do exactly what you said, eg turn it back to stock(ish) and keep going back until it passes. There really are some horror stories floating around out there about defects, how much of them are fact vs fiction though is anyone's guess

Depends on what you're defected for and how badly. For example one of mine on the list was that the airbox was too shiny (ARC airbox on stock twin turbo setup), I just stood there, smiled and said no worries I'll have it fixed. You can bet that if I started mouthing off or not showing respect, the already questionable list wouldve been quite longer. Straight to an inspection station the next day and all passed with no changes (none were needed). If you're sent for EPA thats a whole other story and I have a feeling thats really what you're trying to get at?!

Thats fine, Matt is being paid to cover the event and the agreement I made with him is that he's the only one who will get a Media pass on the day but around the pits or from the stands is no drama.

Staying away from hotspots like McDonalds late night meets or cruises through the city late at night where every other dickhead on 22" chromes with white leather interior is a good start. I got defected when my GTR was standard 2.6L, standard turbos etc. Converted to a single for a fair while then back to twins and havnt had any issues since, to give you an idea here's what the single looked like (not subtle); Also worth noting, the car is engineered as is with RB30 and twins.

I thought about a stand before this, but all the stands that I was thinking about had the same problem of being too big when packed away in the car when driving somewhere but the fuel pump is just that, a pump and some lines all of which easily fit into one of those enviro bags you get from coles Time to shorten the wires, get slightly larger ID tubing and then finally mount it so it doesnt look to pov spec
