  1. I would have rather taken the turbo.. It's quicker in a straight line according to the stats
  2. Aww thats terrible!!
  3. You've gotta remember that the cost of integrating the infrastructure for a completely new type of fuel would be fairly costly. They probably dont see the demand as high enough to roll it out australia wide until they can confirm that theres enough petrol heads out there to warrant it. Give it time.
  4. O M G On the other hand... good on him for opening it up on the drag strip instead of down the Princes Highway and killing someone though.
  5. You're welcome. Yeah it kinda sucks that you can only get 100ron at a select few places - I've warned a couple of mates off getting their cars tuned on it simply for that reason! Good luck with your track day mate!
  6. Well if you're not taking jerry cans, then you're going to have to go back to goulburn to get fuel at some point. Get 98RON in Goulburn and dump some of the Pro Strength Nulon octane booster in it (i know for a fact you can get the pro strength from the BP at Marulan 25k's out of Goulburn, cos I bought it there last week ) Octane booster might not get it up to the level of VPRacing, but you've got no other choice unless you take some cans
  7. Very nice! Thats the Superleggera Gallardo isnt it? Hey James obviously you cant go into specifics, thats understandable, but what sort of security protects these cars!? I would imagine they would need at least one armed guard 24/7?
  8. *blocks ears* la la la la la la I cant hear you ... la la la la
  9. why not? theres hundreds of silver gtr's, just tell us what happened ffs.... Thankyou Charlie!! Man.. that took some digging.. lol Im wondering the same thing... he must have buggered it up pretty badly
  10. ... well? What happened?
  11. haha - at least get my name right!
  12. Happy Birthday Sam! have a good day mate - free from males stripping and such...
  13. Definitely one of those ideas that would be made impossible because of bureaucracy and red tape.
  14. I got it fabricated at Macquarie 4x4 at Windsor - My dad is mates with the guys there, and they are a major importer and distributor of Chromoly tubing. They use it to make roll cages and custom fabricated bars for custom 4WD's. I just drew up the design of the bar, and gave them my car for the day. They fabricated it perfectly, so it was an easy process. It ended up costing me about $150 for the bar from memory, but included a bit of extra labour cost in 'getting it right' as they said. I was toying with the idea of doing a group buy considering I could probably get the bars fabricated cheaper as they could just copy mine. I ended up giving up on the idea because i doubt that people would want to pay this amount of money for a camera mounting solution. Lets say the bars could be made for $125ea, you need to add to that $75 for the ram pivoting camera mount. I think that $200 is probably a bit too much for most amateurs - and thats not even covering my time and petrol getting to Windsor to pick them up What do you think? Would you guys pay $200 for something like this?
  15. DARN LOCALS! *shakes fist*
  16. Vic I got a bar fabricated out of Chromoly (which is heaps light and strong as you probably know), which bolts into the holes for the 'holy cow' handles in the back seat. To attach the camera I got a RAM GPS camera mount from GPSoz - These work brilliantly.. you cant even move the camera by pushing HARD on it when the thing is locked The camera pictured above is my old camera.. The new one I've got is a Sony HDR-HC3. It records to DV tape in High Definition (1080i resolution). I'm absolutely blown away by the quality. Those videos I posted are hugely compressed obviously. The video that comes out of the camera is h-u-g-e. 2.1GB for 10 minutes. I've tried burning the video to DVD, but it looks shit compared to the original quality. DVD hasnt got the bandwidth to take 1080i resolution so I have to wait for BlueRay, or just store the video in AVI... I have nearly 19GB of footage from the track day (just 1.5Hrs) - lol
  17. oh me too!
  18. That he was!! I just found out that that car used to be owned by someone I know. I mentioned to him that it was pretty quick, and he said ""pretty" quick? It's a bloody rocket in the right hands " haha.. Indeed it was! Them was the days!

  24. I still think they should turn it into a one way touge course and charge a fee per run. I'd pay $10 a run to belt up the Old Pac at full steam!
