  1. IMO your best bet is taking the car to a reputable tuner to get a compression and leak down test done... It should only cost $250 or so for a FULL inspection (including these tests), and it will tell you the condition of the most important part of the car - the engine! NRMA and mobile guys (that I know of!) wont do a compression test etc.. If the seller doesnt agree to take the car to a workshop to get it checked out, then he's probably got something to hide! If you're a hard bargainer, you might be able to get him to take the cost of the test off the price of the car too
  2. No problemo - Cya tonight
  3. Sounds about right - I got mine through UAS (it was being serviced there), cant remember how much it was, but 80 sounds about right. I've got my old one sitting around if you want it. I dont think mine really needed replacing, but we changed it just to rule it out when troubleshooting something. Im coming up the coast tonight so I can bring it if you want?
  4. hehe, was that meant for another thread James?
  5. What's the problem you're having Sam? i had to have mine replaced some time ago too. Maybe try JustJap?
  6. Ahh that was you? Cool! IN!
  7. I'm at Castle Hill. Would he travel that far?
  8. Oh ok cool. I might get under there on the weekend and have a look at how difficult its going to be. I've got all the tools (except for a hoist) but I dont know if I could be bothered with the hassle of doing it myself I've been reading around the place that a thread fixing bloke should only be about $100-$150 so thats not too bad - saves a bit of the heart-ache anyway! Thanks for your help mate!
  9. Has anyone done this before? Do you remember roughly how much it cost to get fixed? I've been quoted about $1k to remove everything, and replace all the bits as required (gaskets etc etc)
  10. Spotted Porsche Carrera 4S on Mona Vale Rd:
  11. Haha .. not 1 minute ago I came across the pics I was just coming in here to correct myself, but you beat me!
  12. This is fantastic news! Cant wait to see it on the road!! :-D They've done well to keep the un-masked version of the car under wraps, considering it goes on sale in the next month or two!
  13. Spotted: Silver R33 GTS-T with the Red SAU sticker on the rear left quarter window. Cruised for a while on Mova Vale Rd. Asian guy in a custom Blue R32 GTR turning right into Lady Game Drive this morning - I raised a finger off the steering wheel to say hi, but no response. Also spotted a White Series II R34 turning right onto Victoria Rd from Silverwater this morning. Damn - that sucks Tinks. I hate people that do that!!
  14. One thing i didnt like from looking at the evo x up close was the exhaust tips! They look so cheap and tacky.. its basically just 2 x 1.5" pipes exiting with 2.5" chrome tips shamelessly welded over the top of them... There were a few other new cars that had exhausts like that as well! It looks like a ricer lancer drivers attempt at an exhaust! Also they have taken no care in trying to create a flat undercarriage at all. it just goes to show that they are having to reduce costs to keep the car in that competitive price bracket. The evo/sti are unfortunately becoming less of a 'watered down rally car', and more of just a beefed up cheapo road car.
  15. He did, I followed (stalked) him across the harbour bridge
  16. hell yah - booka shade ftw
  17. Yar me too.. i got Daft Punk, Chemical Bros, MOS Warehouse Party, Laundry NYE party too... Farking expensive!! Damn straight.. I wish all the poser fluro tossers just f**ked off and went to their indie rock events instead of fag'ing up these dance events... It was so much better back before electronic music was cool. Now that these events are more popular the prices have gone through the roof, and scalpers have been getting richer - not to mention the retinal burning I've suffered from all the fluro /rant
  18. He was only on Delhi Rd for about 30m... Turning off Epping Rd to get to the M2. He wasnt going for the twisties unfortunately for his sake
  19. I scored some free tix through work, so I'm gonna go check it out. Always good to see some nice cars. ... and to dirty some carpets.
  20. Haha - yeah unfortunately there is NO way the new GTR will be there. Its supposed to be revealed officially (in unmasked form) for the first time at the Tokyo Motor show in a couple weeks.

  22. Didnt anyone tell you? IT isnt a real industry... It was just made up so we could baffle you non-IT people into PAYING US money to steals ur internetz and what-not... Plus its a little hard for a roof tiler tradie on his smoko break to bludge on the internet... obviously its gonna be mainly people who use computers a lot at work that bludge on computers
  23. Spotted this guy yesterday... El Cheapo bastard decided to take the bumpy as f*ck longueville road then Delhi Rd onto the M2 instead of paying the $2.55 for the Lane Cove Tunnel
