In answer to your ABS question - next time it rains, speed up to about 60km/h, then slam your brakes on as hard as you can!! If you feel the brake pedal shudder and your wheels dont 'lock up' (slide along the road) - ABS is working. If you hit the brakes and the front wheels lock up and you slide off a cliff and are smashed to tiny pieces on the jagged rocks below - you should get your ABS fixed Basically your wheels shouldnt skid at all when braking (if ABS is working). You can try this is the dry as well, but you will need more speed. Just make sure your wheels are straight when you hit the brakes though!!

It felt pretty good on the day.. my best time was a 1:29.50. My first ever run on a track though, so there is some room for improvement with some decent tyres (Wan Li brand tyres on there at the moment! *Shudder*)

Yeah mine turned out to be a dodgey fuel filler installation during compliance. 2 small spots of epoxy doesnt mean as a fuel-tight seal! Grr..

Haha my last memory of that corner is you guys frantically waving your hands around in the air at me after dropping even more fuel all over the place!

Just for an update guys.. I still have the screeching sound too.. I punished the shite out of my brakes at the track day on Saturday, and they are still squeaking.. lol I give up!!!

I had the BEST fun ive had in aages today. It was awesome!! Big thanks to Abo Bob for lending me some tools, and giving me some good training at the start of the day I ended up with a 1:30 half way through the day, but felt a bit quicker later on.. Thanks for all the volunteers time today, you helped make it an awesome day! Now, to get my fuel filler fixed after spewing liters and liters of fuel all over the place! We need photos people!

hell yeah man.. i've been in a similar accident to this, and you are so lucky to come out virtually untouched. the only thing i appreciated from my accident is that i should have been BADLY injured, but I didnt have a scratch. everything feels a little bit more meaningful now that i know that ive used one of my 'lives'[. remember that, cos one day no doubt, you wont get another chance. as others said - 1 of (hopefully) 9 lives! good to hear you're ok!

yeah i reckon avoid alcohol at all costs. drinking before an exam or a wedding or a baptism or brain surgery or martyrdom is cool... but drinking before a track day is hella silly

Here here... I'd like to see stats of the amount of nice cars that are written off or neglected to the point of destruction, by kids who get given these cars for nothing. I bet that 70-80% of these spoilt kids dont realise the real value of their cars and treat them like total shit as a consequence.... I've seen a few of my mates do this actually. its sad

I think a good way to do it is to match whatever your kid saves and they have that much to buy a car... eg. if they save $10,000, they have $20,000 to buy a car with. This provides incentive to want to save and also helps them out a bit. That's the deal I got on my first car - loved it!

I applied this stuff, it worked for a few weeks and now it's louder than before... I'm just gonna see how they are after the track day. hopefully i will punish them enough that they will think twice about squealing again
