Yeah mine is a little different to your Nismo version. Im not worrying about the adhevise tape stuff yet. Those plastic lugs are the trouble, I could only get one finger through the hole so no way to pop them out. Dont want to pull the whole spoiler out and break the lugs either.

Anyone Knows If This Is Midnight Purple 1 Or 2 ?
Forged replied to Darren83's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Correct if I'm wrong but I thought there were only 300 Midnight Purple II produced? -
No one was judging the Z tune based on its "0-400m" capability alone. I was simply pointing out the fact that a factory standard 500ps Z tune can not complete 0-400m in 10.02s. Many "educated" people here agree with me on this point. Now stop hijacking this thread. If you still find it hard to believe then start another thread in the Drift & Drag section. I'm sure you will get plenty of "discussions" there. Back on the topic. I like the TechArt version better actually. I mean if you want a tuned Porsche might as well get the most aggressive looking one

Need A New Clutch?
Forged replied to R31Nismoid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Andy, it is still my everyday car so driveability is a priority. This Exedy light flywheel I have is only good for track work or drift I reckon, the revs drop too fast between gear changes and I dont think it gives any advantage across the quarter mile too. I got the 3600lb clamping pressure Jim berry clutch on order, was thinking of using the factory flywheel on it. But now that you have mentioned it, how or where do I obtain a stronger flywheel? From what I have heard the Nissan factory flywheel is pretty tough being cast iron, which is whats required by ANDRA if you are running 10s passes, not that I will be doing that sort of time anytime soon but good to know nonetheless. -
anyone?

Twin Turbo Straight Six Cylinder Engine
Forged replied to Forged's topic in General Automotive Discussion
European manufacturers use "twin turbo" and "bi turbo" interchangeably. An Audi B5 S4 uses two turbos of the same size and they call it "Bi Turbo Motor" -
Carbon fibre body parts, special brakes and insane suspension do not make a 330awkw GTR run 10 second flat! The fact you said you have READ that the Z tune does 0-400 in 10.02 doesnt mean it really does. Some details are missing in the story. like what GT-R32 said, it probably was the prototype Ztune with 450rwkw plus that completed the 10.02 pass, maybe. Don't base your argument with the stuff you have read but don't really know. Go to a real drag event and learn, then you will see whats required to run a 10 sec pass.

It was the flagship Subaru in the early 90s. Came with a quite capable 3.0l Flat Six N/A engine.

haha seems like many of us got bored with the factory spoiler. so the sedan version doesnt have those plastic lugs in between correct? which should make removing much easier.
-
theres one white plastic lug between the two nuts on each side underneath the spoiler. how do you get them out? or dont need to? ive tried the "headlock" way, it felt like the main spoiler piece was gonna break away from the struts before the whole thing lifts off the boot.
-
sorry to bring this up again. i need to remove my coupe spoiler. so how do you pop the 2 white plastic lugs? do you pull it downwards? could those who have succeeded taking their spoiler off shed some light? cheers

It would be remarkeble if it really could lap the ring in 7"15. but i think Nissan would be happy with 7"30. the 997 turbo could only manage 7"45 on street tyres.

Need A New Clutch?
Forged replied to R31Nismoid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I need to decide whether to use Exedy light flywheel (currently in standard clutch) or the factory flywheel with my new Jim Berry Clutch? Jim reckons light flywheel is bad for drag racing as it makes hard to control wheel spin. Can anyone advice on this issue? -
Twin Turbo Straight Six Cylinder Engine

If only Nissan has kept developing its RB series straight six engines....add magnesium/aluminium crankcase, Direct Injection and variable valve timing...would have been a winning formula for the RB. -
BMW Wins International Engine of the Year Award Text & Photos edited by Frank de Leeuw van Weenen Source: BMW AG May 9, 2007 Seven awards for four engines The BMW winners: BMW 3.0 litre Twin Turbo in-line six cylinder petrol engine BMW M 5.0 litre V10 petrol engine BMW 2.5 litre in-line six cylinder petrol engine MINI 1.6 litre Turbo petrol engine With seven awards for four engines, BMW once again emerges as the most successful brand from the “International Engine of the Year Awards 2007”, the world’s most important engine competition. For the third time in a row, the Awards jury – consisting of 62 high-ranking international automobile journalists from 30 countries including Australia – awarded the principal prize, the highly sought-after “International Engine of the Year” to the Bavarian automobile manufacturer. This year the trophy goes to the new BMW 3.0 litre Twin Turbo petrol engine, now fitted in all body variations of the successful BMW 3 Series. The world’s first in-line 6-cylinder engine with Twin Turbo technology also came out top in two other categories, winning the “Best New Engine of the Year 2007” and the 2.5 – 3.0 litre capacity class. In addition to the engine’s enormous pulling power, the jury was particularly impressed by the high efficiency of the 225 kW power unit. With 9.5 litres per 100 kilometres in the BMW 335i Coupé, the average fuel consumption level based on the EU norm is extremely moderate for this performance class. The Twin Turbo achieves this mainly due to BMW High Precision Injection, the first jet-guided direct injection system ever to be produced in high-volume production. It enables a particularly precise metering of the air-fuel mixture. Two awards were won by the V10 high-performance engine, which is to be found under the bonnet of the BMW M5 and M6. The 507bhp power package with a capacity of 5 litres received the award “Best Performance Engine of the Year” as in the last two years, and also won in the engine class over 4.0 litres capacity. In 2005 and 2006 this exceptional engine won the “International Engine of the Year” award itself. “The BMW V10 is still unsurpassed”, said jury member Jeroen Jongeneel of “De Telegraaf”. The 2.0 – 2.5 litre Award was won by the 2.5 litre 6-cylinder petrol engine with VALVETRONIC which is used in the BMW Z4 Roadster 2.5si and X3 2.5si. With its fully variable valve control – used for the first time in 2001 and since established in millions of vehicles – the engine delivers 160 kW and founds the BMW philosophy of efficient dynamics. “You can hear the 2.5-litre engine from a long way off due to its exquisite sound”, says jury member Rogelio Rivera-Nava from Mexico. “The in-line 6-cylinder construction provides the basis for the technical purity of this most famous of all BMW engines. It is pleasure to drive it.” And this was not the end of the prize series for BMW Group. In the 1.4-1.8 litre category the trophy jointly went to BMW Group and PSA Peugeot Citroën, the developing partners of the 1.6 litre turbo engine. It powers the MINI Cooper S with sporty 128 kW, as well as models of the developing partner in brand-specific adaption. The newly created special features of this 4-cylinder engine include the innovative Twin Scroll turbo technology and a fuel direct injection. Over the last nine years, BMW has won over 30 of the highly sought-after “International Engine of the Year Award” trophies. This is impressive evidence of the BMW’s market leadership in the field of engine construction. International Engine of the Year Awards 2007: Winners Best New Engine of 2007: BMW 3-litre Twin-Turbo (335i) Best Fuel Economy :Toyota 1.5-litre Hybrid Synergy Drive (Prius) Best Performance Engine: BMW 5-litre V10 (M5, M6) Sub 1-litre: Toyota 1-litre (Aygo, Yaris, Peugeot 107, Citroën C1) 1-litre to 1.4-litre: Volkswagen 1.4-litre TSI Twincharger (Golf, Touran, Jetta) 1.4-litre to 1.8-litre: BMW-PSA 1.6-litre Turbo (MINI, Peugeot 207) 1.8-litre to 2-litre: Volkswagen 2-litre Turbo (Golf, Audi A3, A6, SEAT Leon, Skoda Octavia) 2-litre to 2.5-litre: BMW 2.5-litre (325, 525, X3, Z4) 2.5-litre to 3-litre: BMW 3-litre Twin-Turbo (335i) 3-litre to 4-litre: Porsche 3.6-litre Turbo (911) Above 4-litre: BMW 5-litre V10 (M5, M6) And… International Engine of the Year 2007: BMW 3-litre Twin-Turbo (335i)

Bayside blue only came on series 2 GTT and GTX models.

quicker than GT2? that depends on the driver. 330awkw would get you low 11s or with luck 10.9~ Already a thread on this topic.
