  1. Porsche Versus Greenpeace Greenpeace made fools of themselves last week as they demonstrated at Porsche's main plant in Zuffenhausen. Not only was their demonstration misinformed on several fronts but it brought extra attention to Porsche's new Cayenne Hybrid model which was simultaneously being released to the media. Porsche welcomed the environmental organization by hanging a large sign reading, “Done It! Greenpeace Demonstration at Porsche. Now We Have Really Made It!”. Like children in a name-calling contest, the misinformed Greenpeace demonstrators accused Porsche of building cars that are “climate cops” by using a pink Cayenne Turbo and dressing it up with a pig's nose and ears. Porsche fired back with a second sign with a headline ”Good to Know“ followed by: ”Porsche’s contribution to CO2 emissions in traffic less than 0.1 per cent. “ ”Porsche has the lowest CO2 emissions per horsepower.“ ”Porsche will reduce CO2 emissions by more than 20 per cent by the year 2012.“ ”Porsche is introducing the hybrid engine: less than 9 litres fuel consumption on 100 km.“ Porsche PR also highlighted that power stations make up 43% CO2 emissions while industry makes 16% and normal households account for 14%. Therefore, Greenpeace's efforts for targeting an auto maker that makes premium cars which are made to the highest build quality, latest technology and top safety standards compared to most volume cars which account for most of the majority of CO2 emissions is unjustified. Greenpeace obviously did not do their homework and got a taste of their own medicine in the end. Not only does their misguided efforts show lack of principle, but moreover, bad intent. Greenpeace could make better use of their time and energy by creating awareness of real substantiated issues instead of pushing their own political agendas. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Press Release Porsche Welcomes Greenpeace "Climate cops" with its Own Posters Stuttgart. For the first time in the history of the company now going back almost 60 years, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG in Stuttgart received a visit today from Greenpeace. The company took the opportunity to welcome the environmental organisation with a big poster proudly stating “Done It! Greenpeace Demonstration at Porsche. Now We Have Really Made It!” rolled out at the entrance to Porsche’s Home Plant in Zuffenhausen as a particularly warm sign of appreciation. Greenpeace accused the company of building cars they claimed to be "climate cops". Porsche vehemently rejected this accusation and informed the activists that less than 12 per cent of all exhaust emissions in Germany come from passenger cars, with Porsche's share therein being less than one-tenth of 1 per cent. Power stations alone, for example, account for 43 per cent, industry accounts for 16 per cent, and private households 14 per cent. Porsche presented its counter-arguments on a second large poster bearing the headline ”Good to Know“ followed by impressive facts and figures: ”Porsche’s contribution to CO2 emissions in traffic less than 0.1 per cent. “ ”Porsche has the lowest CO2 emissions per horsepower.“ ”Porsche will reduce CO2 emissions by more than 20 per cent by the year 2012.“ ”Porsche is introducing the hybrid engine: less than 9 litres fuel consumption on 100 km.“ To refer to Porsche as a "climate pig", given these facts, is not only inappropriate, but also malicious and a clear sign of bad intent. All the more so as Porsche has emphasised time and time again that the CO2 emissions of all Porsche cars are reduced by 1.7 per cent each year. This is an improvement only few other manufacturers are able to match. A further point is that Porsche sports cars are already able today to run on up to 10 per cent bio-fuel (ethanol), ensuring a further improvement of the CO2 balance amounting to the same figure. And the new Cayenne is even able to run on up to 25 per cent ethanol. A further significant point is that by the end of this decade Porsche will be offering a hybrid version of the Cayenne. And the objective in this case, in terms of fuel consumption, is to have an “8“ before the decimal point – that is less than 9.0 litres fuel consumption on 100 kilometres – or better than 31.4 mpg imp. Porsche’s fourth model series, finally, the Panamera Gran Turismo scheduled to enter the market in 2009, will likewise be available with a hybrid power unit. Porsche also told the Greenpeace activists that they build premium class cars offering technical features, motoring comfort and safety of the very highest standard, making it impossible to compare a Porsche with a small compact car. Precisely for this reason, the Stuttgart manufacturer is opposed to a common CO2 limit applicable to the car fleets of all car makers in general. Instead, Porsche advocates CO2 emission standards oriented towards individual market segments or categories of cars – with such standards by all means being ambitious and demanding. Concluding the demonstration, Porsche could not resist the temptation to unroll a third large poster stating: “Dear Friends from Greenpeace: Porsche is Better than You Think. But the Good News is that David taking on Goliath was Underestimated, too . . .“. Source:Porsche via Autoblog
  2. Only have whats listed at the moment.
  3. As the title states. Need to find a workshop that has an 4wd dyno. Preferably near Lane Cove area. Oh need to be cheap and quick
  4. if you are just looking at <300rwkw with top mount td0625g you will need none of the above, although oil cooler would be a good idea for track use. you could easily get 280-290rwkw from what you have already but dont forget z32 afm. cheers
  5. then you'll need rear guards to match up the front guards no you DO NOT NEED gtr guards in order to have gtr bonnet! do a search. this got to be one of the most asked questions re r34 gtts!
  6. G Force That just jap bar is identicle to what GTautostyle sells. I reckon there even from the same supplier. When you see it on my car u'll know why. Pics up soon. certain modifications required prior fitting, its never the case of direct bolt-on perfect fitment with these fibreglass copies. a capable fibreglass shop plus a good paint job should make it look spectacular in photos but even then you will know where its been compromised (only you will know). so if youre a perfectionist just get a second hand genuine impul or TS bar from Japan.
  7. hi adrian can you still get these?

yeah the silver one was mine. i saw a few white 33s there but didnt get the chance to talk. which car were you in? it makes a bit over 250kw on the dyno so i was expecting much better times. obviously something wrong with my technique. tyres are bridgestone s03n 255/17 at the rear. i lowered them to 24psi but did not do any burnouts been told they(burnouts) are ineffective with street tyres. ive tried a normal take off which was my second run, launched with 2500rpm (as what Ben told me to try) it bogged down intially then as soon as it hits 4000-4500rpm (full boost) wheel spin began again until second gear

an update on my first 1/4 experience. think I was the only R34 there. "consistent" disastrous 60ft time! 1, 4000rpm launch wheel spun all the way through first gear and most of second. 2.5 60ft, ET 14.3 @ 108mph 2, 2500rpm launch (had a chat with Ben and was suggested to try with lower revs) bogged down big time 2.6 60ft ET 14.1 @ 109mph 3, best of the night 6000rpm launch, clutch back in as soon as I felt spin and then out (dont know what exactly happend happend all too quickly) 2.6 60ft ET 13.7 @ 111mph had to go to the city afterwards so only had 3 runs, but highly doubt i would have improved on the time had i stayed. conclusion was that it was an exciting first drag experience and I have no idea how to launch this car! now can anyone explain the 2rismo 2 staged launch techique (I would pay you to learn it )
  10. Why does white have a lower resale value for a R34GTR? Get the white one, the genuine Z tune kit is worth a fortune. Ball bearing turbos, ap racing 6 pots all good. Engine hasnt been touched which is what I would prefer, you never know the quality of someone else's rebuild. Those RAYS VOLK CE28N are just sweet! Look at both cars, the black one you would probably have seen one somewhere in SYdney already but bet you never have seen anything like the white before.

thanks guys and i got the point will not try to race the guy next to me like infront of traffic lights, not that I do it anyway. 4th gear should be enough to get me to the end right? what signs on the track tell me where the finish line is? I have no idea what the track end looks like lol n00b

Hi guys, I'll heading out there tomorrow for my maiden 1/4 run. Hope to meet all you sau nsw members there for the first time too. 15. lol 20 = ten ten 40 = ten ten ten ten lmao
  16. Did you guys notice the other car they have for sale? the yellow Mount Vincent estate R33 GTR race car. I personally have seen it getting built at pmc. honestly its worth every 65000 dollars they are asking for. fully striped tig welded chassis and afaik its a genuine GTR if not a vspec.
  17. You wont need most of the stuff you've said above. get the you were planning plus z32 afm highflow turbo any one of the fuel pumps mentioned no fpr or rail needed even nismo 480cc bolt on injectors would be fine for 250-260rwkw dont worry about headgasket, might be cheap to get but not cheap to put in. you dont need it anyway. and just spend rest of money on suspension and brakes.
  18. BEST exhaust I would suggest full titanium 3"-3.5" cat back system from Ganador: http://www.ganador.co.jp/muffler/catalog/GD-716.html Light and quite whilst offering minimum back pressure. Absolutely THE BEST!
  19. How so? Did you actually get quotes from them? Their parts might be expensive but the service charges for importing cars are not that much different to others.
  20. Powerplay Imports.
  21. GTR is an AWD car most Aussie vehicles are RWD, a GT-T or GTST would be a more valid comparison. A GT-T with a highflow turbo is enough to bitch slap even the all mighty HSV GTS back into the kitchen
  22. +1 for GT-SS -best response turbos for the rb26, period.
